有一點很多人都忽略了的是，由屋到火車站的距離，如果楂車的話火車站泊車是一大問題，如果搭巴士要預留等候時間，步行的話在冬天雨季並不容易，有些人會駕單子到火車站，這亦是一個解決方法。但不要只看火車到倫敦只需三十分鐘，如果你計埋由屋企出發到Paddington 倫敦火車站起碼要一小時以上，由Paddington 到倫敦其他地區（視乎那一處）可能又要30 分鐘或更多！
I been commuting between Theale (outside Reading) and London for over 20 years. Train station in Theale only 10 minutes walk from my house which has train go through Reading to London. Door to door will take me about 1 hour when my company is only 10 minutes work from Paddington station. When I job moved to Canary Wharf the journey time increased to 1 and a half hours so you spend 3 hours everyday just on train. During peek hours train will be overcrowded and you will need to stand for the whole journey. Also the season ticket is expensive current price are £454 for 1 month or £4736 for 12 months. Your need to factor in the cost of parking fee if you need to park your car in Reading Station.

Reading indeed a potential area for investment: relatively affordable and potential for growth due to crossrail line directly to central London without stopping at Paddington. Less than an hour can reach the far east side of greater London by crossrail. It is very convenient to Heathrow airport too approx 30 mins. Better areas along the crossrail line are Twyford, Maidenhead and Taplow where properties could fetch more money.

I like the way how fobs are keeping hyping properties in Zone 1 and Zone 2. There are so many better options outside of M25. People were even trashing Milton Keynes, which is a very posh area. Oh well, I am sure the new comers can get along very well with Londoners. Londoners are equally rude

There is always severe delay in Elizabeth Line especially the route from Reading to Abbey Road. Think twice.
