1 word amazing! I love to draw with pastels. I have just the small set of nu pastel-prisma color but after watching these videos I think I'll be buying a bigger set!!
When I try to use my white on top of the blues, it doesn't show up nearly as well as yours. That could be the type of paper I'm using though. I need to get some pastel paper. I thought about spraying some finishing spray on it to return the tooth or grit of the paper. That might work for me.
Devi just a guess but I bet they used some sort of pastel paper, such as sanded, pastel board, etc. You could use any brand of pastel that you like, this looked like soft pastel to me.
It's usually pastel paper, so really, pick up any brand. As for the pastels, in this instance, he even stated that they are soft pastels in the description. The brand may or may not matter, however.
Use Faber-Castell soft pastels & for the type if paper use something with excellent tooth. More tooth allows the paper to hold more layer's. I suggest acid free, charcoal paper. Actually im not sure about the tooth part, that's just my personal opinion from personal experience. From experience generally you want to get paper that says for charcoal or pastel. Hopefully this answer's some question's for some people. Feel free to ask more questions. Find me on Fb@ Phaylen Yellowrobe
It looks brown on the screen but I think it’s grey, Ive seen the same colour distortion on other tutorials that clearly state they are using grey but it looks brown on the screen.

I tried these. They came out pretty well. Thanks for the video.
Is there a non time lapse or maybe some voiceover to explain what you are doing? You are talented no doubt. But no help for me.
LOVE this stuff! adding pastel backgrounds to my sharpie pen cars .
Beautiful artwork, has a sense of distance. Its like looking through a window at a real landscape.x
your drawings look like portals to that certain place..awesome

I'm in the same boat. Saw another video about better quality pastels so I might give them a go.
Gorgeous work, but one can only get so much from watching without even knowing what brand you are using and what type of paper you have.
