  • I forgot to mention: Takom gives you some nice metal foil with which to make some unit designations by attaching to the sides and rear of the turret bin. They supply some decals to go on these sheets.

    DISCLAIMER: I am not paid to promote any specific products or brands; I just use the products I find work best for me through my experiences. There is no reason for me to promote a bad product, as then I would not enjoy using it, not like the result on my model, and not be proud of publicizing it in a video. There's also no point in me doing this to keep up relations with a company if the only benefit would be getting more of the same products that I didn't like. I have not used every product out there, but from what I have used, I keep using the products I like, and that's why I use them in my videos. You can use whatever other products you would like to and you can feel that they are better - that is your opinion, and is perfectly fine by me, thus I hope that feeling is reciprocated.

    Such a kosher tank! Always loved the Merkava tanks for their unusual look. Maybe i should do one again, but when it comes to IDF stuff i am probably even more intrigued by their Sho´t tanks and AFV Club makes stunning kits of those.

      Next IDF thing I do will probably be a Sho't Centurion. They are badass.

    Now you have a pinvice and a jig you can make a 'wire handle bending jig', drill a hole as near an edge you want size and a groove on the edge you form wire over.Chunky jigs are perfect for it.Just finished DML m1 abrams,1st modern armour kit,big on decals.I like the wiring,makes loads of difference.Thanks for vid,good looking build.

    Hey!! Great post build review. I really do appreciate the insight these offer in addition to a regular unboxing review- although you also do a great job with those Dragon kits because you point out the instruction errors and let us know which factory versions should have which parts. I'm glad you enjoyed this Merkava- I have a Hobby Boss Mk IV in the stash but this looks like an awesome option for a Mk I. Really like what you did adding the remote control cables and am excited to see the IDF painting/weathering series. Glad that pin vise came just in time! Really the least I could do considering all the help your videos have been for me. Hopefully it will continue to prove useful. Take care! -Chris

    Looks good. The modern day tanks really have more detail work required for a build. Wondering if you could cover off painting the cables? Spray or hand paint or combination of both? Leave on or off?, etc.
    Thanks for posting

    What would you consider the best armour kits / Manufacturers for those new to modeling , with the balance between ease of build and detail etc . Any chance you can do a vido covering this subject ? Thank you in advance

    hello, can you tell more about the brushes you use. which brands are good. what sizes are available. and what types do you use to defend your models.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Royal & Langnickel Zen Series 73 brushes. They're cheap ($3 each) and they hold up well to enamel thinners over time. But I usually murder my brushes eventually which I why I don't buy the $20 ones. As for brush types, I usually use 10/0 and 20/0 spotter, 1/8th inch angular shader, 1/2 inch oval wash.

    Today what tank/military kit manufacturer would you consider to be top of the line.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm...Maybe Meng? Rye Field? There are many good options. Takom is great, but not the best of the best. You can see why on the Merkava where there were missing welds/gaps and a few awkward molding points.

    I have a question about color modulation, do you let each coat dry before air brushing on the next one? Thanks in advance.

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Verne Beck yes I could let each coat dry, at least for a few minutes. 5 or 10 minutes should be enough -- as long as it takes to clean out your airbrush and mix up the next colour.

  • @mcscalemodeling4984

    I've noticed you stopped doing model building videos and replaced it with post-build. I can understand that ppl might think its boring, but I like seeing the process. What you could do instead is a sort of timelapse/stop-frame action where you take short videos or pictures at certain milestones. That way you can see how it builds up and even voice over parts that you want to address. Keep up the good work 👍

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not that it is boring for others, it's that filming a build process is very painful and difficult. It's much easier to film weathering and painting. But I will have some upcoming build videos.

    Can you or someone compare it to the Tamiya kit?

    • @Panzermeister36
      @Panzermeister36  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is much better, I can say that for sure. The Tamiya kit is like 40 years old, very poor detail and tracks compared to this kit here. But Tamiya would be a more simple build, if you're not too concerned about accuracy.
