- Skyrim is a game that offers the Dragonborn their pick at an assortment of armors, ingredients, spells and weapons. Indeed, The Elder Scrolls 5 allows players to equip almost anything they may need for their adventures. While many objects are quite rare and interesting, it’s typically the items given to the Dragonborn during Skyrim’s quests that prove to be the most fascinating and unique. From long lost ancient swords with incredible amounts of lore to rare spells and potions, today we’ll be taking a look at my top five quest items you shouldn’t miss in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Speaking of the bloodskal blade, it's the only weapon you can use while under the effects of 'Become ethereal' shout. So you can swing it around damaging people without anyone being able to hit you back

Dude, when you're old enough to have sex, or if you already are old enough then when you find a girl uninhibited enough to perform a 69 with, you'll finally understand that it's one of the dumbest sex acts a couple can perform. You're either focused on what you're doing, or what you're getting, but never both. So it's a compromise sex act that pleases no one and does nothing more than waste time. It's probably the ONLY sex act in the world that NO ONE ever performs a second time. Pretending it's cool is one of those things that you grow out of really fucking quickly, especially if you have a sexy, willing partner that you could be doing better things with.
During my very first playthrough I got the root, but forgot about it and went on a 'discover' spree through my ingredients and killed my character by eating the root.

in my first play, i met astrid pretty late and she annoyed me.i mean i was an archmage and a vampire lord, i can summon dragon. i can destroy cities easily but astrid talk like im weak, as a result i killed her and whole clan for 3k coin.

If you use the jarrin root before you go to kill the "emperor", Astrid will just give you another one. So just make a potion at a time until you have what you want and then go to do the quest.
Wish I knew that before and could I do this as many times as I want?
@@riverlady982 I think so. I only used up one on accident and got another one from her. It's been a while since I have done the quest line so I'll have to do it again and see.
@@dustindurham6825 thank you for replying, I just think if I spent a while collecting them and the poison those bothersome dragons would be much easier to deal with after I trigger them in the game. I currently haven't brought the stone to the Court Magician yet to play without random dragon drama. Now I'm considering starting a new character just for that ingredient.

In my opinion, Dawnbreaker is one of the most beautiful weapons. When I first saw it I was captivated
its cool but i can pick up a sword in a daedric mine and enchant it with fire and it do two more damage and 20 fire damage rather then 15, dawnbreakers beutiful but has horrible damage and fire enchantments

@@mcgaming7885 with unofficial patch you can add stormfang and the champion's cudgel enchantments and desimate the game. It's the best unique in the game aside from Voluundrung.
I think Boethiah's Black Mail armor deserves a mention. That thing is practically OP. Not so Fun fact, you can lose it permanently during the thalmor infiltration quest if you give it to the elf who holds your gear.

@@szarekhthesilentking7043 Doesn't it have a built in muffle enchantment? It's poison enchantment alone is extremely useful because it's free damage for existing mear an enemy
Hearthfire has a small glitch that sometimes duplicates armour you place on a mannequin. You can score Ebony Mail for you AND Marcurio.
And he wears it very very well.
Nate's also a rare quest item.

Also, Arvak lets you bypass many gates with bars by summoning him on the other side of the bar and then activating the "mounting" him button. The animation places you on the other side of the bars too.

The game also lets you fast travel from Arvak's back. Very useful for getting around overencumbered.

Fun fact with Wuuthrad, the deterioration wasn't slow. It shattered during hte Ebonheart Pact questline in ESO, during the Second Era.

My favorite part of the Skull of Corruption (Best staff) is the fact that killing some enemies with it can trigger a screaming death, like they died of absolute horror and terror

14:32 If EpicNate didn’t have a policy of omitting cheating tricks, I’d be surprised that he didn’t mention the absolute two best qualities of Arvark:
1. Thanks to his immortal nature, he can be used a practice target for leveling Destruction Magic
2. By summoning him at certain spots, then mounting and immediately dismounting, you can use Arvark to bypass most locked gates to Dwarven ruins.
For someone who has played literal thousands of hours of Skyrim...when u actually show things I actually didn’t know, I am highly impressed. Had no idea jarrin root was that insanely powerful

Also got the entire lore wrong too. Gratian died after killing all of the draugr. He killed all of the draugr with the blade and discovered it;s strange properties. Then spent a time trying to break into the barrow proper, working out that the energy of the blade had something to do with it before dying from injuries caused in his fight with the draugr. Not at all what Nate said. Gratian was a badass, not some coward who hid away and then died trying to escape.
Also, his name is pronounced Kai-Rel-Eus. He even says it

Come to think of it, if you keep the jarrin root to make a single insanely powerful poison, that makes the reward from a return to your roots much more useful. It gives you a chance to make TWO insanely powerful poisons out of that single jarrin root.

@@blueclaws9894 Zephyr. It fires faster than standard bows. Zephyr is a great bow if you choose to do the Aetherium Quest early on in the game, but it will eventually become outclassed.

I honestly keep forgetting the importance of Arvak during my playthroughs, but I always look to completing the dark brotherhood quest line so I can get Shadowmere. He is after all the first horse you can get that's immortal up until you get Arvak
I also have a Daedric horse from the oblivion quest but don't remember it's name.

I always felt that the Bloodskal blade was likely based off of the original Legend of Zelda sword blast. IT’S AWESOME.

You failed to mention that Arvak is also one of the fastest horses in the game, if not *the* absolute fastest. Most horses in Skyrim are mostly only useful when you're overencumbered but Arvak genuinely increases your movement speed by quite a bit.

I felt proud when I had the first sword you mentioned. Spending hours because I stumbled into the mine at level 5 and fighting that boss was amazing.
Good thing about Arvak is you can summon him through walls and use him to get into dwemer areas that are inaccessible. Arvak will simply allow you to ride him through gates and what not- pretty cool
I have a merchant mod that puts Jarrin Root into the game as a buyable ingredient. It makes for some seriously crazy poisons.

I summon the horse every time. You can fast travel on the horse even over encumbered so it’s perfect
When it comes to that Jarin Root, I think that it's hilarious for you to fight Alduin or the Ebony warrior with it, they think they're going to have an amazing fight, only for you to sprinkle some fairy dust on an Iron Dagger and poke them to death

Keep in mind, with Serendipity and sankebite, you can get 4 legal uses of the jarrin root poison in a given playthrough. I'm trying to learn to mod by making a special planter that will grow one once a month, but the concept is a simulated environment. So like, it will be a fake island in a basement with artificial storms and that kind of thing, cause Astrid says it only grows on a remote island that's difficult to sail to.

Bloodskal blade is a very nice reference to the Legend of Zelda. In most Zelda games, link can shoot beams out of his sword at full hp.
I thought I’d seen everything in Skyrim, but I missed Arvak in the soul cairn :o
I think the Ebony Mail is one of my favorite quest items, as it's got an impressive look and is quite useful if you're a heavy armor character who needs to do some sneaking. What I like more though is Auriel's Shield, but you don't get it through a quest. They're still some of the base game's best items, and the Bloodskaal Blade is also among them.
The bloodskal blade is probably my favorite weapon but because I’m usually a higher level when I go to solstheim, I never find use in it past the dungeon, it’s still a really cool weapon to have
I think the reason you're able to free Arvak is because Arvak's skull is in the soul cairn and it acts sort of like a lich's phylactery in a way, his soul is bound to that skull and once you remove it from the soul cairn he's "free" from that place while still being bound to the skull outside of the soul cairn.
"you can one-shot miraak" please don't actually do this. That fight is bugged to where it softlocks if you do too much damage too fast lol.
We all know that anyone who does this isn't a true Dragonborn.

One of the hardest choices for me in this game is whether to choose Arvak or Shadowmere as my main mount because both of those horses are SO COOL. Also, I once summoned Arvak in Solstheim and lost Shadowmere for MONTHS! ;A; I found him again eventually, thank god, but it really bummed me out.

Similar to Arvak, what about the "Summon Arniel's Shade" spell that you get from the Winterhold College questline which also gets you Keening? Probably the most powerful summon in the game, and has 3 uses only.

Mace of Molag Bal top of the list for me, especially after the reaction of people seeing it I was unable to part from it, even after making 2 Daedric maces with over 140 dmg each I just couldn`t let go of it, despite it taking half screen :) that is when i don`t cast spells because my character was a mage. The horse i put as second and the rest of your list is great too

I love the Bloodskal Blade, I use it as an endgame weapon for two handed builds.
Another perk of Arvak is that sometimes you get stuck in very silly spots on all skyrim; if you summon Arvak next to you, you can ride him and get free.

The battle axe is especially deadly to elves because it was used in the great war between the nords and the snow elves

Hey Nate, this is a cool detail you can use for random encounters as I don't remember seeing it in a video, but I just encountered it in a playthrough;
On the roadside you can hear a shout from what appears to be a Vigilante of Stendarr shouting "Traveler, over here", but when you approach it turns out it's a group of 3 vampires, who shout something around "oh I love how pray comes right to you"
For some perspective on bloodscall blade, I never used two handed weapons in that game until I got that sword, actual YEARS from Alts in Skyrim never once until I got that blade. Absolutely amazing weapon
There's a great mod (available on console) that adds 4 Argonian child merchants to the Windhelm docks. One of them sells a Jarrin Root. The stock replenishes every few days. If you have the bonus from Crimson Nirnroot quest that lets you create 2 potions from a single batch of ingredients, you could make a fair few of these nasty poisons.
Can you do the reset inventory glitch on em? 🤔 If so that's perfect for infinite roots
@@konman10000 - No clue. Haven't tried. But they're plantable thanks to the mod MT Plants (which also makes crimson nirnroot plantable), so I don't need to. I have 6 of them growing at Goldenhills Plantation. There's also a Khajiit caravan version that adds two child merchants to the caravan that visits Dawnstar. One of those kids also sells jarrin root. The mods you want are Argonian Hatchlings, Khajiit Caravan Kittens, and MT Plants. With those, you should be able to get as much jarrin root as you need.

I always make sure to get the sanguine rose. That thing helps my clear everything
For the jarrin root you just have to do the follower item duplication glitch (If you don't know what it is, it's if you have a companion/follower and tell them to pick something up, for example an iron dagger, and then just leave the area and come back later. There should be another dagger on the ground, and one where ever you put the one the follower picked up).

What about keening? Even though it doesn't do much damage I still found it to be a cool weapon to have and it also has a unique model

Fun fact about the blood skal blade it’s one third to becoming invincible in Skyrim the other is a glitch that allows you to put on as many of one type of any neckwear you want use 5 amulets of talos and the third is the ethereal shout i the bloodskal blade is the only weapon that can attack with that shouts effect active meaning you can’t be attacked but can attack others but with the glitch you can fully decrease the reload time all you have to do is shout every now and then
It’s amazing how detailed some of these smaller quests are.
