    You should try Hageys Catfish Hotel just down the river from Shiloh,for lunch or dinner,faces the river,right on the riverbank! Pull the boat up,and walk up the steps for lunch!

    Back in the 80’s my brother had. Cabin one mile below Pickwick dam, he estimated he hooked and released 10,000 saugar per season. The limit at that time was 15 and length was shorted. Maybe one in a hundred would be legal size. 😊

    To answer one of the questions, most sauger jigs are 1oz, and many folks use a minnow and a small curly tail grub as a trailer.
    Braided line, about 15-20 test is a real advantage in current and deep water.
    Sauger populations are waaaay down from late 70’s and early 80’s. I had many 15 fish legal limits over 30#. Just not there in numbers and size.

    I thought when you foul catch a fish you must release it? Why did you keep that sauger you foul hooked

    I recently moved to Adamsville. Can we fish anywhere along the Tn river? I walk Shiloh park a few times a week with my dogs. Full of history it is beautiful..... Lovely video thank you. Looking forward to hopefully watching more.

      Either side of the Savannah bridge is good in the Spring. Fish the down stream side of the island too. Ask some of the locals. They're pretty good at passing along some good info

    These are more 'native' to southern river systems 😅than walleye i think...hopefully we won't have to rely on restocking...

    Do you know of any areas accessible to bank fishermen looking to catch saugers at the Pickwick Dam or downstream? I'm thinking the area next to the generators will be too rough. Thanks!

      @g3sportsman  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't ever keep any for very long. Since we (G3 Boats) have lots of models, I try and use as many as I can to highlight them.

    Off topic...most US battlefields/Parks in the south have only US soldiers buried with markers as the Yankees mass buried the Confederates.

      i live 2 miles from the spot he is fishing.. i sauger fish on average 45 days a year when they are biting.. you do not know what you are talking about.. and it could get someone in trouble from reading your incorrect post.. if you are so certain come on down this spring fill your boat full of 14 inchers and show them to a game warden.. have fun paying that fine..
