    My dad went over this waterfall with my uncle in the early 60's in a canoe. They started from Canal Flats, BC but my uncle and my dad got separated on different sides of the river after going over these falls and thought the other was lost. My dad continued on to the Pacific Ocean and my uncle without any money hopped onto a train and hitch hiked all the way back to southern CA. My dad was the first person to do the Columbia River in a canoe. They did it in hi water where it was basically flooded.

      Sad news but beautiful story. I keep reiterating whenever the Gold Creek story is popped up.

      @@ExploreVancouverCanada Both my dad and uncle survived during record high water for the year they did it. This video shows a trickle of water. They went over it in flood stage water.
