I think it’s really cool you get to share this passion with your daughter, and spend time together doing something you both enjoy. This is going to be memories for both of you that will last a lifetime. I tip my hat to you, sir.
Rich, years ago, I was fortunate to take a tour of Darton Archery in Hale, MI. I saw how they build their limbs and every finished limb was flexed a fixed distance in a machine that recorded how much force was required to flex it that far. That number was written on the end of the limb. Every bow requires limbs with matching numbers. Each bow's numbers may be slightly different from other bows but a specific bow's upper and lower limbs must match.
I have the same bow and I love it, fortunately, I have not had a limb failure in well over 250 shots, I think I must have a good one! 320 FPS with 400 grs and accurate as can be. Love my Micro! Rich, you are a blessed man, I would give anything to have a daughter to hunt with.
Harsh! should of took picture right away; have you heard of this happening to anyone else? And how was the warranty dealing with excalibur?@@Deathbybunjie
@geofffelsing1283 oh yeah happened a lot lol and no warranty because we were second owners. Excal de ied coverage lol I am told their new limbs have better reviews though!
I had a limb failure on my Excal micro 360td, big splinter on it's right limb. It happened on the ninth day of the Michigan crossbow season, they had new limbs to me on the 13th day of the season, so I will say that there pretty fast at getting things out, although I'm lucky their service center is in Port Huron Michigan. And yes those limb anchor bolts were super tight, highly recommend using a set of high quality hex wrenchs. One last thing, the crossbow was still zeroed in with the new limbs. Both my limbs were labeled 69, insert Wayne's world meme.
Well I had cracks develop on my micro suppressor 400 TD. It should have TB instead of TD because If I could I would take back. What a joke putting them back on . The holes didn't align when I put the main bolt through . As I tightened it down I could hear the bolt crunching in the fiberglass . I took it back apart and the bolt cut some threads in the new limbs. Not major threads but you can see how it scored the glass. I also noticed the threads of the arrow hold down ,one of the tiny screws 's thread got ripped out some home . Had to fix that too and drill and tap a bigger screw to hold it to the scope riser underneath.I wonder how long till they crack too? What a pain . Loosing 5 days of my week of deer hunting too . Not a happy camper. I use to have an older excal and never any issues. .Those were the days.
Rich you and Genevieve did a fantastic job replacing the limbs on bungie jr. Excalibur really should have sent you directions on replacement. But with today’s internet you just go on line and look them up. Not like when we were kids. Have fun with your trip and remember “ALL HAIL BUNJIE!” Your friend Dan from Jersey.🦅🇺🇸👍
To maintain their image i would think excalibur would lay a new set of limbs no charge.bad press can be a killer for a business image. Let's be real they could do this and be much better for it.come on excalibur step up and take care of this.
Hi Rich. How do you avoid limbs from breaking? I still have my Matrix 380. Will my limbs break someday, and if it does will I still find a replacement? Regards from BC Bunjie.
That Matrix 380 is, in my personal opinion, probably the pinnacle of Excalibur crossbows. I won't go so far as to say it's indestructible but that's a really good balance from them. I do believe they carry limbs for that still to this day and you might want to buy a set just to have on hand. I actually bought extra limbs for my old Axiom, can you believe it? Probably will never need them, fingers crossed. But it's good to have.
Oh, and if you're interested, I did a whole series on breaking limbs, those four videos are available on the channel. They go a long way and explain what can and can't be done to extend limb life.
After a limb breakage every time I cocked it I would be waiting for it to go again. Actually, I probably wouldn’t feel real great about the cocked crossbow bow sitting in my lap.
Awesome job !!! I love your video’s !!! I just got my new wicked ridge m-370 I hope I can get it setup ok for a new year of trying this sport out wish me luck !!!

3:56 &deathbybunjie do you feel it’s necessary to change the cables on a crossbow every time the string is changed. Probably not right . Maybe get two or three seasons from the cables? Not really a lot of info out there that I see helpful.
Probably not, because usually changing the string has to do with the serving and as long as the servings on the cables and the cables themselves don't look bad then wouldn't be necessary in my opinion.
@@Deathbybunjie thank you yeah I thought the same thing. So I have a bear x intense cd crossbow so it’s super narrow and the string is at extreme angles at trigger device so my string servings tend to want to separate but very little just enough to bother me. I look at Excalibur crossbows once a year and I could never buy one because of all of the breakages I read about. I really would like to have one some day. Many believe the shorter limbs are the problem.
None of the top popular compounds have this amount of breakage. It seems that when Excalibur started shortening their limbs to make their and at the same time increasing the poundages breakages started to increase. I will look at Excalibur crossbows but I will stay away from the high poundage short limb xbows.

Loctite 242 or 243 is what you want to use when you want to get something apart. Loctite 222 is what you want to use on your scope mounting screws. It's very low strength. I use Loctite 681 on things that I never want to come apart, but it will melt when heated to 400F and come apart..

I had a Excalibur 335 and limbs went out in very few shots. Yes they replaced the limbs but like you said that isn't the point. You're new here, I take it. The OB has been in service since 2010 without issue. It set a high standard. This one lowered that standard to a level you apparently are okay with lol
You would figure for the price of these crossbows , the limbs would be much better quality and more durable, why spend $1,500 just to replace the limbs after a few shots, seems like a big waste of money for something I was really looking forward to, until I started seeing all the broken limp videos
The Original Bunjie is on its 13th season and only set of limbs, and Bunjie 3.0 is still going strong on its second season and only set of limbs, so it's not all crossbows luckily.

Mission and Scorpyd do not have limb issues, at least nowhere near as widespread. Lower draw weights save limbs, just like the older Excaliburs.
Fake news Kurt... Blowtech has taken Excalibur to the top in limb issues just like Bowtech has the worst issues in the compound world. Its a bowtech problem. Sure some other companies have a few issues but not at the volume of bowtech and modern excaliburs
was missing you n gen

Heck yea
Pretty soon bunji jr. Will be on the road again lol

Crossbows are great 👍............but they do have their drawbacks..lol
Nope save the string if you can you did it right.
I kind of liked the “Grumpy” Rich!!!! 🤣🤣
Lol
A little bit of Kroil will break it loose. That stuff is the best penetration oil ever!
Dang never seen you get irritated
Hahaha Rich are you mechanically inclined? When you see a guy use pliers instead you gotta wonder.😆😆 You know I'm kidding.
Pliers are my go to, vise grips are my plan B 😄
👍😃✌️🇺🇸
Man this dude sure complains alot lmao. Like what do you expect to never have to do any repairs on a crossbow ? There limbs are life time guaranteed on all excalibur what else can you ask for ??
