I used the bowl method for more than two years - with hair success, but severe neck problems. If you can get away with styling in an upright position, I recommend keeping your neck safe.
I just dip the left side in, then the right side. No upside down styling to be hard on the neck
My hair was so dry and crappy recently until I clarified with some apple cider vinegar, and then did the bowl method / plopped in cream + gel on dripping wet hair that I applied in the shower! Voila! Moisturized, shiny curls!! I will be doing the bowl method every wash day I can from now on!
How did you use the ACV, I thought it would dry your hair more? What products do you use please, is your hair thick?
I think I would prefer to see new products with you using your normal method of styling and new methods with your usual products! It is a bit hard to work out what is product and what is technique otherwise.

Agree, I’m trying to embrace my curls for the first time( mine are exactly like yours and I’m blonde too) and I can’t tell what’s causing the “ greasy “ look part of the process it’s driving me crazy and I loath crunch! and I’ve tried every combination of this and that and products ain’t cheap!all I can say is ugh 😩.you are adorable I’m new to you and so glad to have found you and I’m loving you on this journey. You have helped me so much. Just to add do you know of ANY products that mimics vavoom, Sammy, thermasilk that they no longer make way back in the day when I tried for a minute they did make my hair beautiful .

I've been doing the bowl method for a couple years now and my curls are pretty defined and tight. I use rice water for the "rinsing" when I'm doing it.

I went out and bought the twist products you used on a whim because I needed some new products. I wasn’t expecting much but when I tell you that they made my hair look only the way that the OG deva curl products could. I’ve been sad without the OG deva curl and haven’t found anything comparable but these products gave me beautiful definition and softness. I love that the shampoo is oil based and lathers nicely and THE CONDITIONER IS BIGGER THAN THE SHAMPOO! I feel like that is such a thoughtful touch and really makes me think that it truly was made with curly girls in mind. Thank you for reviewing these and amping up my curls!

I don’t think this is something I’ll do a lot, but it’s fun for a special occasion (: you should make a video on it !!!
I love this method for super defined hair, but honestly it takes my hair FOREVER to dry too because the clumps are so much bigger than I usually get. I also don’t get as much volume and for me I’d rather have more volume and way less dry time on wash days. It’s definitely fun to try though😊

Finally bought the Dyson... LOVE IT!!!!! dries my hair in half the time.... Didn't like the Glaze,the Beach Blonde color was really a toner, and turned my nautral color dark..had to make an emergency appointment with my hairdresser...I needed my highlights ! IT HAD BEEN 6 MONTHS! XO

May be this sounds strange... but I can imagine the 'bowl method' is usefull when hair is low(-er) porosity ... but technically high(-er) porosity hair can absorb (very) easily water and all the nutriënts of the products by itself when products are applied and scrunched in.

I’ve tried this before and although it looked great it took forever to dry, like double the diffusing time and also it put too much product on my roots after wet plopping and dunking my head in the bowl and my scalp was itchy

I feel like it would have been better if you had done this upside down. It was hard to see and felt like you were missing sections of your hair. What is the purpose of a wet plop?

I use bowl method every time, but with much more water and CG approved products. And I am not sure that bowl method will work the best with products with silicones ...
Shouldn't be using silicone based products anyway!

Girl I need some help we got the same hair type but my hairs so DRY I got low porosity any tips or products?? :)
This method is known as a super hydration method.
Try using distilled water as a rinse, I put some in a spray bottle and maybe once a week or every other I will spray before I condition then rinse. You will be amazed how much it makes a difference especially if you have hard water which will make your hair dry and crunchy. It’s also really good for dry skin I use it to spray on my face before I put on my argon oils and makeup. Hope this helps you like it did me .💖oh and I have the exact same hair too.

But no, the EVA NYC is also an all american brand, almost impossible to get to Europe... And same problem there, won't work in EU even with converters because of the big difference in Voltage... Might risk burning down the house :(
You guys use 110V, we have 220V, and even with voltage converters they say its a big risk when the equipment is not made for dual voltage...
Could you make a post on what to look for in a hairdryer? Like, the shaping of the diffuser, Ionic or not, infrared or not, ceramic or not? Or does none of that matter if you just get the right diffuser-shape?
