Lying under oath doesn’t matter anymore.
Nothing matters anymore.
Isn't that terrifying?
Everything matters even more when those that would do, what trump and his pack of psychos are doing, need to be stood up against.
People have lied under oath since the invention of oaths.
The edgy teens were right the whole time
Sad but true.
I'm an American... Medicaid works SO WELL for me that it has saved my life at least a couple of times. Super happy bout it
I feel like a fraud for things I have a four year degree in. How do these people get the balls to be like yeah I can run a country?
Elon musk buys them the balls that are needed
Exactly. But these people are so dumb that they’re too dumb to understand they don’t know anything. Zero humility.
Money😂
Some people have confidence in themselves 🤷♂️. You got this dude 😊
@ Yep. Like the guy who jumped off that cruise ship in the middle of the night and was never seen again. I’m sure he was pretty confident in himself and his swimming abilities.
Why is RFK even on any Medicare? He should be using our ‘fantastic’ private system that all Republicans love so much.
He's not republican
@@green_mondayOP didn't say he was a Republican, but regardless, why do you say RFK is not a Republican?
@@christaylor9095because RFK Jr is a life-long democrat. He’s not a Republican at all really, he’s an old-school democrat and has been shoved out by the rest of the party. His exclusion from the party was really sealed during this last election.
@ Trump is a unity ticket. RFKjr hasn't joined the Republican party -- he came onboard to solve like-desired concerns regarding failing health of U.S. citizenry. It could be said he's independent now, though.
@green_monday fair enough. I've been a registered voter since 1994 and have never registered with a party. I genuinely don't care what anyone calls themselves. If someone is willing to endorse/enforce "Republican" or "conservative" values and policies, saying "they aren't a Republican" literally means nothing.
I was on Medicaid for the pregnancy and birth of both of my kids. Which also included coverage for their entire first year of life. It was amazing. Everything was free and I had great doctors. I don’t know what I would have done without it.
My twins spent a couple of weeks in the NICU, the medical bill we got for their approximately 6 week stay was *more than we make in a year* I literally cannot fathom how we would've coped without medicaid. Edit: I got curious and pulled out the bills they sent me--10 years. For the two of them to be in the nicu for just over a month. It was 10 years worth of what my husband was making at the time.
Yup, can 100% relate...had a bad lung infection a few years ago where I was required to be hospitalized due to State law mandating that I be cleared for tuberculosis before being released to the public. I was in between jobs at the time.
If it wasn't for the ability to apply for Medicaid on the spot/in the emergency room, that infection would've cost me roughly $60K due to my stay in the hospital and all of the antibiotics I had to be on for a month and a half, chest imaging, etc. It was a literal life saver on more than one level.
All of you sound like a bunch of Antifa loving, BLM supporting, DEI Trans Globalist, and I think you need to take your Commie support of Medicaid back to Mexico(Land Of Abortions) where it belongs.
@@haleyspence I worked in a NICU , when I first read your comment, I thought, "Wow, they must make a lot if they make *that* in a year!"
I love this show. Thank you guys for being normal and sharing facts
i'm 72, on ssi ... i get under $500 per month and as such i qualify for medicaid. $0 premium. i had to have an emergency gall bladder surgery with pancreatic complications, $0 co pay. before the procedure i asked if it was going to cost me anything and the doctor told me "No, you're insurance is "golden" ". yeah ! i'm real unhappy about that! 🙄
The super rich and the super poor get the best healthcare, at least in terms of out of pocket costs. It’s the people who are just above the poverty line that get destroyed by healthcare costs.
Same. I'm 28 and i had severe pneumonia a few months back. i had a 10 day stint in the hospital. it cost me nothing. I live in a city and most doctors take medicaid where i am, i don't have any trouble finding doctors. I want everyone to have that kind of healthcare, everyone deserves to be able to go to the hospital if they need it.
You should be head of HHS!
I thought the same thing! Medicaid SAVED. MY. LIFE! And there ARE NO PREMIUMS for the patient! Hell, in MO... We no longer even have medication co-pays anymore! And when we did??? *Never* more than *$2.00/Rx* FFS!
@@Ish-k4l Unfortunately, true. But the *ObamaCare ultra platinum subsidies* in *The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022* have done a great deal to remedy that & the GOP needs to further extend them! Either that, or A. create a sweeping & expansive public option, or B. create a single-payer *TrumpCare-For-All system!*
I have a feeling the Luigi trend is gonna be prolonged now that mAGA is gonna tear everything down. People snap and go crazy. Dystopia is nigh.
I had Medicaid for a few years in New York and I didn’t pay anything in premiums or deductibles and never had a problem with any hospital accepting it because they knew they’d get paid. Exact opposite of what Bob said
RFK Jr. checks all the boxes for an excellent Health Secretary.
1. Ignorant
2. Insane
3. Looks and sounds like he just crawled out of a casket.
What more could you want?
He's also cruel if we listen to what his cousin Caroline says. He loved to show his cousins the little baby chicken and mouse go in the blender to feed his birds of prey. And his disgusting "joke" with the baby bear...
He looka like that crypt keeper 😂😅
I was hoping for a blonde wearing a diamond laced golden cross and ear rings 😮
Don’t forget philandering and substance abuser.
@@spacecat6022 Family drama from 40 years ago has no place in todays politics. - this statement is so ignorant of the whole story. So tell me what exactly happened with the bear?
You literally need to be making $20k per year or less (for an individual with no dependents) to qualify for Medicaid. That is extremely poor. He is sick and this is so frightening. Are they going to take away Medicaid? Do they not fear that would cause chaos?
They're playing games with people's lives.
They don't care. They are more powerful and make more money when society as a whole struggles.
A lot of people are that poor. Look at what the minimum hourly rate is in 2025, or people who can't work and how little they get. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer.
@@ForrestMccroy Trump is vehemently against taking away Medicaid. NHS secretary has no power to do that either, only Congress.

We can’t see under that table. He could have hooves for all I know.
He probably looks like mashed potato underneath that baked potato skin.
I'm on Medicaid and Medicare. It's actually amazing. So close to the Italian, Spanish, French medical system I'm familiar with. Get an appointment. See the doc, specialist. Then just leave. No bill.
"You should listen to what the answers are!" Legend.
makes ne angry that there are hearings and media coverage if how horrible this guy's appointment would be, and it has zero effect on the actual appointment. what's the point of anything?
When things are at their hardest, dig in, they hope you'll give up. ✌
The thing is half the population doesn’t think it’s a problem and that half has a majority in the house and senate.

@@Ish-k4land those that are opposed to following the rest of the world in that healthcare for all is a human right, are usually just interested in continuing to line their pockets, while claiming healthcare for all is socialist bs.. nothing but a ploy to keep getting richer.
I know right? Like, things should only happen if you get your way.
He's such a liar. I've had Medicade for years,I'm 70years old with several health problems now. I was hospitalized for pneumonia and never had to worry about a bill. Doctors visits became a fairly regular thing for awhile, and tests like M.R.I.were never denied like most insurance does now.We who have it feel very fortunate!!
I'm just waiting to see when everyone will get the healthcare they and their families need and not have to give half their earnings to rip off insurance companies.
RFK is keeping with the Republican tradition of knowing absolutely nothing about what he seeks to limit, abolish, and/or control.

Right, because so far all the geniuses that have been running the HHS have done an incredible job. Keep CNN controlling you.

For me it isn't so much a problem finding a primary doctor (whether they're any good is a different discussion) on Medicaid. The problem is finding specialists to take care of any issue your general practitioner can't. There are precisely ZERO GI drs within 100 miles of me that are accepting Medicaid patients. My only option is if my issue turns into cancer, then I can get help.
Take care, that's a rotten situation ✌

Medicaid is what allowed me to get substance abuse treatment (four times). I am now clean and sober, I work in the SUD field, and I'm about to go to graduate school for my MS in mental health counseling. Medicaid isn't perfect, but it saved my life. I am still on medicaid because, unfortunately, as a single mom, I can't afford the cost of insuring me and my son through my employer. It's not perfect, but my son and I are healthy, housed and able to eat.
I wish Sam was a senator questioning RFK jr.
Honestly, it wouldn't matter. Those 53 Republican senators are going to put him in charge of hhs.
I wish it was Luigi.

Sure, RFK Jr looks bad if you know things, but it seems a little unfair to keep applying this standard of basic competence to Trump nominees.
My mom is in the hospital right now with a bad case of flu, and thankfully medicade and medicare is paying for everything, considering what Trump has already done. She's 75 years old, and we rely on one another to survive. Something thats going to get harder due to the tariff nonsense.
Medicaid also pays for medication for people with mental health issues.
My husband had a kidney transplant 5 years ago!!!!! 100% paid. The donor, who was not on Medicaid, was covered by his policy as well. The only part of Medicaid that is shitty is dental. After the age of 21 you are only allocated $750 per year. So if you need a little work or a lot of work done, you’re screwed. Teeth are considered COSMETIC!!!!!!!!
65,000 to have a baby. That's to walk out of the hospital alive. Fucking insane.
when we're "unhappy with our medicaid" it's because they cut out necessary dental, eye care, routine health screenings, behavioral health including help for addiction, etc. etc. etc. from being covered, meaning most of us are simply forced to go without. we're unhappy because in a lot of states and on the federal level conservatives and (conservatives calling themselves democrats) have completely gutted what was already overtly sub-standard care meant to shame you for being too poor to pay. we're unhappy with being treated as subhuman and knowing the government doesn't give a shit when we're in pain, when we suffer for years knowing the treatment we need but not being allowed to access it, when we die from things middle class+ people can just take care of. we're unhappy having to jump through hoops to find anyone that can help us, and those of us more in the know are unhappy because we know they have to PAY to be medicaid providers for the privilege of being treated like shit on their end as well. if you've never had to live on programs like this, particularly programs where something you need to survive is on the line (like your access to medicine or food), you really cannot imagine the effect this has on a person. we're unhappy with our medicaid because it's one of the ways you've taught us we aren't human beings worthy of dignity or respect.
Imagine our adversaries watching this two week shitshow and wonder why the USA ever scarred them .
Vladimir Putin’s mouth is watering uncontrollably right now.
It must have been difficult for Xi to walk around with an uncomfortable boner after hearing Trump dis the shit out of Taiwan.
If they strip away the affordable care act, MOST people would be fucked
RFK is a "wellness" grifter.
Kakistocracy.🙀
Glad Sam asked if any of the Senators followed up with RFK, Jr. on his misrepresentation of Medicaid having too large a premium and deductible, when the reality is nothing of the sort. Sucks that not one of the Senators apparently called him out for that. Reminds me of Biden failing to respond, during his disastrous debate, when Trumps falsely asserted illegal immigrants were receiving Social Security. WTF? These are core programs Democrats need to defend far better!!
RFK is the right person for the job, because he knows the tools to shake polluted institutions that needs a major change. He has an incredible good record for that.
On another day these people would be beaming and bragging to have Bobby as a Dem. Now he's indy and still going to accomplish the issues that were consuming him.
The vast majority of the democrats on the panel had received massive PAC donations from pharmaceutical industries, like Purdue Pharma which started the opioid crisis. Senator Cassidy alone received over $650,000. Senator Sanders over 1.2 million. Why will you not talk about dark money influencing our health care?
I DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW SOMETHING WORKS IN ORDER TO TAKE IT APART AND DESTROY IT !!!

The Medicaid premiums are too high? I am cringing into non existence right now
Thank You.
RFK Jr. is the worst pick out of them all.
i hate this Brainworm Gundam so goddamn much
My partner applied for and was denied for Medicaid 3 times before getting it.
Once he was on, it was amazing. It covered all his hospital visits and medications with no copay or deductible and covered a wider network and much more prescription offers than my insurance did (and my plan is supposed to be the good plan)
I'm on Medi-Cal.( Medicaid for Californians) I love it. Great doctors, all free, and I even have dental and vision.
They even pay for an Uber to take me to and fro my doctor appointments! And if I have a surgery or procedure I need to have a caretaker with me for the ride home, I can get a free medical transport. Get this - if I am not mobile, I can get a free ambulance escort back and forth. All with just a phone call three days prior.
Yep, I was out of work a few years ago when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, and my doctor's office just signed me immediately up for Medi-Cal, and everything was 100% covered. Lumpechtomies, lymphechtomies, chemo, radiation, the whole works. Eventually, when it came back, the Mastectomy and numerous reconstruction surgeries, too. Aaannd then when the chemo caused overnight end-stage glaucoma and severe eyesight loss, all that care is covered too.
I've gotten used to it, and obviously have been through more than my share of drama and misery on my own - but I definitely do still feel some guilt when I hear the stories of people working 3 jobs and losing their homes over medical greed. It's a ridiculous system.
I guess zero is just an impossible concept for a Kennedy?
But seriously, doesn't this dude have documented brain worms?
I knew RFK was full of shit but he's ten times lazier about his being full of shit than I thought. He literally doesn't know, doesn't care, and just wants to serve power.
When I became 65, I got 10,000 unwanted calls to push me to sign up for Medicare Advantage. I got very tired of it. I am on Medicaid and regular Medicare as a low-income person. And I do have access to very good medical care.
My best friend in college his dad is a doctor in a rural area. His mom used to run billing when they were part of a smaller practice. She told me Medicaid/ Medicare billing was far easier than dealing with any private carrier.
I've been on Medicaid for years and it has greatly improved my life. It can be hard to find providers, but my GP is awesome, and I pay nothing for my meds, some of which would cost hundreds out of pocket. I would also have to pay hundreds per month to private health insurance just to fight with them if/when they denied a claim. As someone with ADHD, not having to do extra BS is priceless.
I stayed homeless for a year because I couldn't mathematically make enough to afford rent while staying under the income requirements, and work wouldn't have given me more hours anyway. It was better to live out of a broken down RV than to not have the meds that keep my chronic conditions under control.
20:52 I’m a nurse now, but I learned vastly more in my CNA (certified nursing assistant) training than RFK knows.
I had to know more about Medicare/Medicaid when keeping people’s butts sparkly clean and taking their blood pressure than they ask an HHS nominee to know.
I’ve been on ssi and Medicaid for 17 years now. They privatized it around 2016, but I get the same benefits. I probably get more care than the average person and never see a bill. It’s pretty great.
Bobby was thinking Medicaid Advantage, silly!
RFK give brain worms a bad name.
@TheReykjavik Glad I wasn't drinking anything while I read your comment. It would've been outta my nose all over my phone.
To quote a Republican years ago, "keep your government hands off my Medicare."
Every word robert said about Medicaid is demonstrably untrue.
Medicaid is by far the best insurance i've ever had. Period.
He does not know the difference between Medicare and Medicaid. He went on and on about the Medicaid deductibles and premiums being too high. There arent any. He also advocated for Advantage plans by saying he is happy with his own.
It’s shameful that RFK Jr. is nominated by Trump for HHS Secretary. It’s a cynical choice.
I love Sam's sarcastic steelmanning for RFK lol
How is the entire media ecosystem not on fire over this. The guy isnt fit to tie his shoes.
I have Medi-Cal. Which is what California calls Medicaid. I'm 55. I've spent 6-weeks in the hospital... Twice. I also get office visits, specialists, lab work, mental health (including SUD), dental, transportation and prescriptions. The only cost I have is $4.13 for one of my half dozen meds
That random clip was hilarious
I thought I was safe from ever seeing that again.
@janesheridan7967 we can run from our fears but we cannot hide
Good grief!

Thank you for pointing out his lies about Medicaid. I was on it for a bit. It never cost me more than $10 for doctor visits, emergencies, or medication. I could use it anywhere I went.
I qualified when I moved back home to PA during COVID and I was unemployed. I was able to keep it once I started working because of COVID. I lost it when I moved to Texas.
The dental sucks, but other than that it was great.
I love David Ferdman ❤️hes a voice of reason says the same thing. Ty
15:22 I wish that was true. I’m 20, I’m a college sophomore and I’ve never learned about Medicare or Medicaid in school before. I’m still on my mom’s health insurance (thank god) so I know a bit about hers and nothing else. Kind of embarrassed I didn’t know the difference but honestly I don’t think a lot of people do
I'm on Medicaid in Minnesota, I pay nothing for everything. No copays, free glasses and eye exam, free prescriptions. About to test the dental, but I'm pretty sure that's all free as well. No complaints, other than being poor.

RFK jr. is into wellness and nutrition. It's an obsession with "purity", not health. He knows absolutely nothing about healthcare.
Naomi Klein's Doppelganger discusses this and what she describes as the diagonal alliance of the far right and the far out, which was cemented by and during the pandemic.
Nobody ever mentions what happens to people who go to school and make a good living then become disabled at 34. We dont get free rides, energy assistance, snap or medicaid. I would have been better off having a drunk vehicle wreck when I was 16. So I was paying +$30,000 in taxes and Ive been living on from now less on less than $2000 a month for all these years. Out of that I pay premiums for healthcare, Rx coverage and I pay deductibles on everything. Great system. Lately, I had to go 100 miles in an ambulance and had no way home. Then I drive myself to surgery. If I had medicaid I would have a brand new chauffeur driven van picking me up and waiting for me. I had a glaucoma attack and I had to wait 4 weeks for surgery because my vehicle needed brakes. Now my eyesight is affected by the delay. I never should have gone to college and done all that engineering shit in AK.
