I know nothing about this so I'll ask for clarification! It's extinction the process where you would terminate the reinforcement of unwanted behavior to extinct it!?
Also isnt this what is demonstrated here more of a "flooding" approach!?

I'm literally on the brink of tears here. I'm a Marine Corps vet, a husband and a father that's riddled with anxiety from a life full of trauma. This has all led to anger because of my fear of what might happen and the small things in life happening around me. I'm so afraid of the things I can't control. Until now, I've never realized that you can't control most things in life anyway.
Never thought I'd ever have so much in common with a horse. Thanks, Dewayne.

I don’t usually comment here, but I sincerely want to thank you sir for giving me experience and guidance that no father, brother, therapist or friend has ever done to me so well.
I’m only 19, and since I’ve reached the teens, I have this constant and depressed feeling that I’m lost, and don’t know anything truly useful for life.
You give me hope every time you release a video that there is hope, that I’m in the right path, and that everything in the end is gonna be alright.

A horse video and life advice all in the same video. Nailed it. One thing that stuck with me in overcoming my anxieties as a lost young man -- "Stop trying to make the world softer around you, make yourself harder, more resilient." Joseph Cambell once said "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek." I've made a habit of conversing with my fears, trying to treat them as a learning opportunity. I've still got things to learn... but when I see where I've come now, I realize I've recently gone through things that, if they happened 2-3 years ago, they would've completely broken me -- in the worst way imaginable. The monster we fight is ourselves. If you're familiar with Nietzche, you already know what I'm getting at...

I have anxiety often and I have found your methodology for overcoming fear true. Often when you face anxiety you overwork your brain trying to "run" from your fear.
Why do we not react to fire alarms? Yes we have concerns but we dont start sprinting our thoughts are similar the more we run the less chance we have to discover our anxiety isnt always rational.
The more you understand that you aren't in immediate danger the quicker you realize anxiety can be dealt with slowly and rationally.

I like your style Dewayne. I too have to leave my anger and impatience outside the round corral. Knowing that anger and impatience begins where our training ends is key. Just in one session you made a huge difference in how this horse responded to the bag: the fear. Your calm demeanor made all the difference in how he accepted it. Desensitization is huge with horses or most animals for that matter. Thanks for sharing this because as we know the training is two fold: the horse and the horseman or horsewoman.

Absolutely fantastic way to help horses or other animals, including dogs, that are reactionary. Did same kind of method with my adopted one yr old GSD who was terrified of cars. Moving and parked cars, trucks, etc. Took 5 days of calmly walking next to parked cars, sitting next to my parked car, standing by parked cars, letting her gradually realize that she didn’t have to react in fear every time she was close to a car. After 5 days of doing that, she was able to circle my parked car, jump in the back seat by herself and be relaxed inside. Soon we were able to go on long road trips and have loud motorcycles roam by next to us and zero reaction! Kindness, patience, and taking time to work with these beautiful creatures is so worth it! For us and for them!
Thank you for sharing this method with all of us. Beautiful sweet horse he is.

Hello Dewayne and Momma from Tucson AZ 🌵😊. Dewayne, may I respectfully share that I’ll continue to watch your videos regardless because I enjoy all of the content on your channel-but I’m just down right sad that some have ruined it for all--to clarify, I thoroughly enjoy and may I even say need the direction and spiritual guidance that you include from time to time in your videos-specific to theology. If there’s ever a time that the world needs to have some “seeds planted” Lord knows it’s probably now. Satan is working overtime and is thrilled that he can utilize the griping petty people to “hit” the few good channels such as yours-to silence the word and control the narrative. Again, it’s your channel & you can obviously do or not do whatever you choose to-just wanted to share that some of us need a good dose of theology. Especially if we’ve stopped attending church due to the issues you’ve made mention of.
Wishing you and yours a blessed upcoming Easter Sunday 🙂✝️

Like you say a lot of the things we fear don't happen sometimes and we end up worrying for nothing. Yeah I know what you mean about people in the church. I've been hurt by more people in the church than anywhere else. I've come to realise that we just need to follow God and ignore the stupidness and take ourselves out of those toxic situations, because it's not healthy and you get dispondent. Thank goodness over the years I've just trusted in God and not listened to the concentrated dribble of people in the church, otherwise I would have turned away completely from faith. Thank you so much Dawyn for your advice you doing such a great thing and helping so many people. Really appreciate you. From Don

Good video it helps on so many levels from horsemanship to human levels of fears around us in life and in ourselves and how we react and how our horse learns to behave and react to everything around them , thank you and I hope I understood what you are conveying in this video.

I only stayed on a farm for six months or so as a child and learned about breaking in horses.. until it was desensitised to the bag and chickens did the blanket and saddle came out... and was taught not to ride it til you knew it wasnt going to buck. All these videos bring back so many memories and also has me thinking of things much more differently.

Exactly…don’t cheat your horse by setting him up to fail.

That is a pretty cool little horse.
Seems smart and attentive. I would bet 60-90 days with you and he will be broke.
