- Join me as I head off on over 100km of hiking to find New Zealand fly fishing heaven. I take the packraft to access some incredible wilderness and succeed in finding some outstanding fish. Did I mention HUGE brown trout?
This is episode 3: I puff the packraft and paddle downstream further into the wilderness in search of a remote hut and trophy brown trout on the dry fly.

Great stuff but the trout don,t get that large without being very hard to catch,so use very long leaders and size 18 nymphs.
Beautiful spot :) Spent 3 nights there in the mid 1980's. Caught so many fish in front of the hut I barely got out of sight of it.
About to go up to Greys for a couple of nights after having spent several days recently recutting the track past the Kakapo
Wow that must've been 🔥 awesome work on the track. Went up there a couple years back and it was hard going. Keen to walk up from that side and raft out (maybe if it's not to sketchy!) thanks for watching and enjoy your adventure!
Hey Ange, make sure he submits a business case for the new paddle! One of my hiking boots blew out today so I’m about to lodge one with Jenn…
Ah a boot blow out eh - you get that trying to keep up with me bro 😂
love the wife shout out for safety, awesome vid bro! loving the whole series! also learning from you is a pleasure mate
Wow that's cool to hear, great I can help as well as share amazing places 👌🏞️⛺
Good films You don't say rubbish things like "One on the booooard!!" when you catch your first fish
Cheers! I used to try not to talk at all but now try to tell a story. Hope it's not too much talking but without any talking the adventure might not make sense?
Great work !
Thank you! Cheers!
