I really want to make this but am struggling to get started - it’s so hard to see where the stitches are & where to put the hook in the first couple of rounds. Any tips would be really appreciated!
Hi! If this is of any help….try to have good light when working with those first rounds, use a bright stitch marker and count, feel those V’s (I stretch mine to get a better look) and try to loosen up the tension, it helps a lot

You can try going down a hook size for that part only. For example instead of 4.0mm hook, try a 3.75 size as it may make going into the stitches easier. Another way you can try is for Rounds 1-10, just do 5 single crochet stitches around, or even 6 if that's easier. The stem size just may look more larger however. Best of luck!

Hi, you can use a smaller hook size and that may help with holes. With decreases, you can also try the invisible decrease (there should be tutorials on YT as well I believe) and that may also help with holes. With getting rounds more straight, I'm not quite sure what you mean by it, but I would just keep practicing and eventually things like consistent tension will fall into place that will help to make your stitches more uniform. Can someone please explain (or better yet point to somewhere with detailed pictures) what on earth is happening at 2:14? I have NO idea where she's sticking the hook, it just looks like a balled up mess
