I love every part of this rap. Not just Gepetto's verse (Which is everything you would think of a mad creator) but how the chorus flips as P gives in to lying. Awesome stuff.

Who would've thought the spiritual successor of Bloodborne was a Pinocchio game
Actually, thats kinda brilliant that its Pinocchio story for a bloodborne game
The more I think of it, the more appropriate it seems. Bloodborne being about humans trying to become something more, Pinocchio in its most recognizable iterations usually being about a puppet trying to do the same, setting his sights on a human nature that is beyond his own. Haven't played Lies of P so I don't know what exactly it has to say about these themes, but the thematic connection is a lot stronger than I'd first thought.

I'm pretty sure she is a member. They have a good amount of songs that feature her where they don't put her name in the title, basically implying that we should expect her voice when we listen to a jt music track. Prob could've described that better but you get what I mean i hope.
@@Triatomicmango No, she is not a member... back when they still did Q&As someone had asked if they could join JT and Skull's response was "there can only be two" (and they were already working with Andrea for a while by that point)
JT Music is only Pat and Skull... Andrea may feature in a lot of their music but she is not considered an official member of the channel.

You know - most of P's lies weren't lies. As we follow the plot to the true ending, even the first lie, the biggest lie, becomes true.
And there are also those small lies - like telling the guy that his puppet wife really loved him. At some point we can trigger the dialogue and go back to her lifeless body, only to discover that she did indeed leave a message that she loved her husband. So again, it wasn't a lie in the end.
P's honest lies became truth as he was driven by empathy, something that mere puppets couldn't have.
I really loved the story of this game.
That’s actually a really interesting detail!
@oliverwoodcock-xp1yd technically he's time-travelling over and over again till you win, but he isn't aware of it, partially due to it, until the True Ending, not being his power. it's only at the end of the game, when he has almost entirely become human, that he is the one controlling the time travel.
so it could be his subconcious transferring him the information, or it could be pure coincidence that most of his lies end up being true. which, he's still lying if he thinks it's not true, and in each of these scenarios that's the case.
or it could be the whispers of the souls of the puppets telling him the truth, but he thinks it's a lie (Ergo is essentially the "souls" of humans and puppets).
there are a lot of explanations, but the simplest one is, he is lying to be kind, and is unaware at the time that it's mostly true.
@@Choryrth I think his sub-conscious is telling him the truth, like how the screen flickers or pulses whenever there's a 'lie' scenario. It could be his sub-conscious to 'lie' or it could be his puppet body reacting? Just something I thought of.

@@SpiralreddLater in the story you’ll find out you’re a puppet made to resemble a certain boy, and don’t feel bad about having a hard time because it’s insanely difficult. To put it into perspective, the perfect guard timing is less frames than the parry window in Sekiro :)
Every section of this rap is lore accurate and the lyrics are constructed immaculately, this song is a perfect representation of the game. On repeat...
Pretty bold to have an unconventional structure to the song, like the two different choruses. Also the way that those lyrics at the end blend and rhyme perfectly together is freaking delightful.

I think one of the most under rated details in this, is the background.
Slowly but surely the winding and ticking of puppet parts goes away and the higher pitched piano notes come out.
That is such an amazing little detail of P's slow transformation into a real person.
Take the chorus for example, the first part has no high notes in the background. However, the second chorus is filled with it.
Not to mention that they are polar opposites of each other.
The instrumental part of this track is just so amazing in how it evolves throughout the song.
I can't even begin to describe how much I enjoy every verse here. From Gepetto as a mad scientist, to Pinocchio's chorus becoming corrupted as he lies more, and I especially love Sophia/Andrea's lines "What's a cat to a mouse / or a fox to a hound / it's survival of the fittest / and this is their hunting ground" as well as "Your skin has become armour / hide has gotten tough / and because they call you puppet / they can never call your bluff". Like a real human being, Pinocchio has to grow up and figure out that lying is a part of life.

This one was going over my head until now
The second I saw this, I had a feeling it'd be great and have that soulborne vibe to it and boy did it deliver! I love the contrast between Pinocchio saying lying was not a part of him vs at the end, he embraces it. Andrea absolutely killed her part as usual too! I would love more songs like this.

It also ties into the game’s lore, as a puppet’s piano playing skills get better as their humanity increases, and a harpsichord is a more mechanical sounding piano, so a harpsichord fits Pinocchio so well as it combines both his mechanical body with his human soul
This rap is by far the most brilliant rap of a souls like game i have ever seen its basically dark souls and Pinnochio mixed together it doesn't get better then that
The wordplay is sublime as usual, but I will say I really liked the vibe you went for! It almost feels like a mix between Would you Kindly and Nightmares Never End.

After I finished Lies of P for the first time, I started putting together a playlist of songs that reminded me of the game and I knew once JT made a song based on the game, it would the cherry on top!
I love how mechanical the music starts out as, yet as it goes on it sounds less synthetic, more organic in a way. It's amazing and subtle, JT music does it again

Love the reference to their Dark Souls 1 song "Undead Lullaby"! It was the first thing I thought of when I heard 'unborn lullaby'.

This song got me to play the game, now I'm coming to listen to it on loop (again), and it's so fun noticing all the references to the lore you've concealed in here, like the fact that the "Listen to Your Master" bridge is the four tenets of the Grand Covenant, or "Because they call you puppet they can never call your bluff" referring to how Pinnochio is the exception among puppets due to his ability to lie, hence leading people to believe he _isn't_ a puppet in many cases.
