I know Mike’s no longer with us, but I was impressed with this review when he first posted it, and though it took me a couple of years, I finally bought a Cort Core OC-SP. it’s a helluva guitar for the price point.
Nice review and you have talent. As far as your latter comment about electronics, the Blackwood model in my local GC also had the problem of the electronics being loose inside. The salesman couldn’t figure out the buzzing problem but make me kind of shy away from a nice unit.
@@ashwarygoel145 personally I have only played this one but I loved it and can recommend it. However I would still suggest trying both to see what your preference is my friend.
@@Chinaguitarsceptic I guess the under saddle pickup ( fishman sonitone) won’t be good for me as it would be my sixth guitar and 1st semi acoustic guitar. I am going for cort ga5ffmh. Thanks for replying
Great review, Mike! I have a Cort SFX Myrtlewood guitar that has the same preamp/pickup element, and I agree that the output jack placement could be moved to make plugged-in seated playing more comfortable. I saw these OC series when Cort first announced them, and they really caught my attention. All solid wood with a Fishman pickup for $600 is very sweet. I wonder how they'd compare to their Gold series, though. They are around the same price point, but the Gold O6 doesn't have electronics. I've never had any issues with buying Cort guitars online, as they always arrive perfectly set up out of the box. Granted, I live in a very stable climate, with temps and humidity around 70 degrees and 50% pretty much year round, but I have had some issues with my all solid wood USA Martin guitars. The Cort guitars seem very stable, and if I ever start playing out again, the Cort will be my go-to for performing. Awesome to see you enjoy these guitars as much as I do! I am glad Cort is getting some love hahaha! Hope all is well with you! 🐰❤️🎸🎵✨🤝✌️
Great to hear from you brother and I picked this up because you told me how nice the cort acoustics were. All well here thanks and hope you're well too my friend. 👍
Nice! I have a Cort Gold D6. I think the difference between these core series aside from electronics is the torrefication of the Gold Series. The neck construction too differs since Gold series has a more sophisticated wallnut reinforcement and a hybrid joint. The neck wood differs too.
That's hard. The tone of spruce is brighter but I like the bass end of the mahogany. I have both and use them for different feels. Maybe start with traditional spruce?
Everything i needed to know cheers pal got my eye on the spruce top one....what would you go for between the Yamaha FS 830 Yamaha FS 850 Cort core and the Sigma 000m be great to hear what you think or anyone in chat to 👍✌
Greetings Ricky... very nice review. I think Cort have been very underrated over the years, I have a couple of their Little cjs and they are really nice and very playable. They compare very well with gs minis but are much more affordable. Hope you are keeping well. ps... if that's you playing, you been practising or WHAT?
I Cort your opinion on how this compares with the HB acoustics you've played. So many guitars, so little time! I bet Ole Jack the Rabbit could make that Cort sing 😁 God bless and rock on 😎👍🎸
Cheers brother. The cort is so easy to play, It's light and has nice tone. It's not as full in the low end as the hb but it's horses for courses. Definitely easier to play I think.
Very thorough review, and what a nice piece of music. Purely from a viewers perspective, as thoughts would no doubt differ if I had this guitar in hand, I didn't like it! I didn't like the look of it, apart from the back, which I thought was fantastic! I 'get' that the aim is to not look too 'flashy' but (imo) it looks too mundane! I didn't like the sound either as it sounded sort of muffled to my ears...like it was being played under the blankets of the bed as we did with radios when we didn't want to wake up our parents late at night!! So all in all, it's not for me. But a great review none-the-less. Cheers from NZ :)
That's great thank you. Very grateful for your feedback and so glad I did a good job. This is the point of my demos, so you can do the review bit and I appreciate balanced comments. This will not be for every taste and I'm glad my video gave you the insight you needed. 😊🙏👍

This was one of your best reviews yet Mike. Beautiful guitar and great playing. You are more talented than I originally thought. Well done!
Thank you that's really very kind.
Definitely one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen, and as I can hear it has great sound ✨😃
I Cort your opinion and you delivered, as ever. Another fine review and I loved the demo song.
Thanks so much brother you made my morning.
OMG. I remember the music shop I used to work at sold Cort Acoustic guitars and they were amazing! Great video Mike!

Totally mate. 👍
I have a Cort AD810 acoustic and I love it to bits I'm planning on switching to electric soon
Cort Guitars are great 👍
Looks and sounds really nice. I own a Cort Earth 200 acoustic guitar. It's really good.
They play really nice don't they. I was pleasantly surprised at that, despite the very specific tone.
@@Chinaguitarsceptic what do you mean by specific sound?
Super fun review!! I love my Cort was wondering what Tuning you're using? Thank You 🎵🎸
Hey loved your review❤️❤️ Can you please tell me should I buy this or Cort GAF-FMHOP ( all mahogany ) ??
Thank you. I think its personal choice based on the tone you prefer.

Will i be able to add a soundhole pickup without removing the existing one?
It could be an issue with the current controls inside the sound hole

Made in China or indonesia
but what happened to the rest of the water buffalo? poor animal : (
Very good point. I prefer the synthetic nuts too.
Probably made into steaks and stews and the skin into leather shoes, belts and wallets.
