Feel like all power lifters will like bjj if they just try it out. Yeah youre going to be terrible at first, but strength and athleticism help a ton and its really fun to train.
I think you guys would do pretty well in competitions after 9 months of training with Nicky. You already have the strength, which is a huge advantage in grappling
Most People have no Clue how useless they would be in a real Fight. I realised that in my First Trial Class of bjj when a fresh bluebelt with 60 puonds less then me took me easy a couple Times Into Triangle. That was the Day i knew this is my Sport.
she had him in an upside down triangle but it wasn't the choke that got him. It was the sheer amount of force she put into "stretching" or opening him up very quickly... the dude isn't agile or his back isn't.
8:35 - Coming from a seasoned white-belt PLEASE do not cross your feet in this position. If you're curious why, just do it with a higher level guy, you will learn very quickly.
He doesn't have the "game" aspect of it down. Luckily, i think it's the funnest part of the sport. Once he gets it he'll move on with flying colors. I'm still trying to grasp this aspect too. For me it helps to think of wrestling, a lot of wrestling doesn't work until you make it a game. Baiting and shooting.
For example, when he's getting choked he asks "how do I get out if this", This can be a bad way of thinking. Learning moves is great but as a beginner, you will progress a lot slower with this style. Fundamentals is more important. Understanding the positioning. If you understand the position you more likely want to work your way out of it with your understanding of body mechanics, not just a single move, there are many moves, and it also depends on your opponent, where they're strong or weak in certain areas
But this guy is rlly good I'm learning a lot from watching. Mostly learning how little I know. When it comes to my elbows, knees, joints and hands, I'm lost. I got the feet hips shoulders and head down, but not the elbows or knees xD
I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking maybe he wrestled a bit in High school or something. He did a couple things that untrained people don’t think to do, or have the coordination to do.
Just started Jiu Jitsu a couple months ago and it's cool to see this crossover between Barbell Brigade and the B-team!
Osss!!!
SAME MAN THE TIMING IS UNREAL LETS GO
samee 🥋
The way he flows is truly a thing a beauty
Never heard Nicky teach before, but he does it well.

I love that barbell brigade is more than just a lifting channel. And I love how bart loves doing anything fitness related 😊
This was great. Well done Nicky, represented BJJ well, good teaching, good technique and explanations.

Of course Ethan nearly entered the mat space where they’re filming 😂 #EthanIsASpaz

Damn Bart with the B-team!
you did good man! it's just that Nicky's prob one of the best in the world rn. He was barely sweating lol
Nicky barely sweating has a soaked rashguard and it dripping off his nose. But, like me, that's a light sweat for him 😆.
Quick Tip: if youre going to try nogi, wear shorts without pockets so your partner doesnt get their feet caught in them and potentially snap a toe 🤕
great tip, where I train its mandatory to not have pockets in no-gi :D

It’s nice to see 2 champs training with each other 😂
Nice to see bart dipping his toes into combat sports again osssss
This is amazing free content. I am a brown belt and still learned some details that I was missing!
That body lock is spicy and the way he can unweight and of balance people is unreal 🤙🏽
Nicky has dropped some gold content in this video.
Thanks to Bart.

So Wholesome, s/o B Team, even Gordon Ryan said they're better at Jiu Jitsu
Never heard of your channel till I saw you mention Nicky rod and I gotta say love the crossover from Weightlifting to BJJ!
Nice video! Great presentation of both

This is awesome!
It would have been cool to see Nick the Ear in this video
17:00 guy in background gets his shit broken
yeah idk what happened there. dude wasn't in a sub position, maybe his shoulder popped or his neck got cranked.

“Grappling workout” LMAOO
Bart read this book "the 12 immutable principles of Brazilian jiu jitsu" and take notes. It helped me a lot.
Barts too humble.

haha fuckin love it Bart!
20:05 (*captions on*) yw
Be the wet blanket 🧘♀️
Why does Bart pretend to not know anything. He's been doing BJJ for years. Maybe he's on and off but he should have some of the basics down.
He doesn't have the "game" aspect of it down. Luckily, i think it's the funnest part of the sport. Once he gets it he'll move on with flying colors.

Did buddy in the back get choked out???
Nah looked like he got cranked from what appears to be an inverted behind the back triangle and something hurt/cranked in his shoulder or maybe neck
it was a crank. but rather his back not his shoulder...
Anyone know if Bart has trained before? He moves good 👍 looks like he could be a blue belt
I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking maybe he wrestled a bit in High school or something. He did a couple things that untrained people don’t think to do, or have the coordination to do.
Totally agree. He had good hip movement, kept his knees in for framing and some slick wrestling
He’s made a couple videos training and competing in bjj before so he’s definitely got some experience
He’s athletic yes but technique on a blue belt level? Absolutely not lol
@@Seaneskatejitsu I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a 4 stripe white belt or 6 months into having a blue belt.
Nicky the juser Rod
nobody called out champian
more BJJ Content!
Acting like he didnt learn everything he knows from danaher squad.
Head over to the B team channel, their legit 👌🏽
Lol man down @ 17:02
