Michigan fan here. We played like crap yet still beat Bama. I've never seen such a poor performance from Special Teams as in this game. Yikes. But I'll love them forever. Go Blue! 〽

Michigan defense held the No. 1 spot for much of the season with a stop rate of 81.6 percent. They ranked No. 1 in scoring at 10.4 points per game.
What you didn't see is that they ruled that Bama interception as incomplete! They show all angles... He was clearly out of bounds.
It's good defense, but both teams were also looking like they have been off for a month. Bowl breaks suck (though they have their benefit). As for the refs coming over to celebrations, I think it is largely them just getting them off the field so they can move to the next play, but also partially to stop a team from going too far with their celebration, saving them from having to throw a flag.
EDIT: Also, on that last play Milroe had the RB on the swing and also had a run lane following the pulling guard (#77). However, the low snap pretty much killed the pass option of the RPO and forced Milroe to run. The problem there was #5 for Michigan blew up the Bama RT and shoved him into Milroe's run lane and Milroe hit his knee on the back of the RT's calf, causing Milroe to trip. Game over.
Saban literally said it wasn't an RPO, it was always a run, he said it was the only thing that was working consistently all game.
1 month layoffs for bowl breaks is tough to maintain momentum and consistency... Hopefully this 12 team playoff grid will help with that. Maybe 1 week off after all conference Championships are done. Then maybe 1 week off for the final 2 teams before the title game. I believe that even if Bama and MICHIGAN played right after their respective conference championships, they would've beat Bama by 2-3 touchdowns. GO BLUE!! But don't get me twisted... I wouldn't want to see that game played over. Bama is always well coached and loaded with talent. I believe BAMA should've gone with a pass play. MICHIGAN was all in on the run. Who knows though, that center was a problem for Bama all season from what I've read up on about it. All of those bad snaps for Bama and the horrible special teams play by MICHIGAN sure made it interesting! Sad for Bama the COLLEGE G.O.A.T. COACH Nick Saban has relinquished the reigns of his Alabama Tide.

It was not a pick because when the defender jump up to catch it he was out of bounce when he jump. But when he came down he was in bounce. That is why it was not a pic

Michigan fan here, but uh, we need to be realistic about next year. Our schedule is probably the toughest in the nation next year. We are losing so much to the draft. Plus Harbaugh has yet to sign that contract. There is reason to be excited, but also reason to temper expectations for next year.

It was very good defense and Michigan had sloppy special teams but there was a month layover. College is not supposed to celebrate by the way
Did you hear on that last play that it was another bad/low snap and discussions about what Milroe did was because of timing due to the snap. Michigan (15-0) normally did not have special teams errors and also one of the least penalized teams in college football. Our defense was very highly ranked. We played Washington for the Championship and won a bit more lopsided score. Our defense put a hurt on Penix. Michigan was being doubted in that game because we “had not faced a QB + receivers like Washington” but they had not faced a defense like Michigan. Defense wins Championships. Btw I think Michigan sacked Milroe 8-9 times.

The “Dawgs” would have gone down like Washington and Alabama. You beat FSU with all of their starters opting out along with most of their second string. Take care of business with Alabama and you wouldn’t have to speculate. You couldn’t beat Bama, what makes you think you stood a chance against Michigan? The National Champions! Go Blue!!!
You can't really be bragging about the FSU game, right? I mean, nobody was taking that seriously. The game was basically second and third stringers scrimmaging against each other. Was all the sideline staff even there? I get having pride in your team, but talking like FSU was actually tested and deemed unworthy off of that game? Man, I didn't know Georgia fans were so hurt by the Alabama loss that they had actually sunk so low that they need to claim the win from that scrimmage to be able to survive.
Georgia wasn’t shit this year. There’s a reason. They weren’t that good this year. Truth be told. No sec team should’ve been in the playoff. The conference was weak this year.

you definitely cannot comment on the first play interception when you're watching highlights out of context. The DB was out of bounds, came back in, jumped up and intercepted it. Your replay doesn't capture that he was out of bounds before the ball was passed. If you go out of bounds willing and come back in, you cannot catch the ball.
