The Saab 9-5 was the best car that handed the snow that wasn't all-wheel drive I ever had. Finding parts was a challenge when needed. Overall, this young man is not lying about the Saab, thumbs up.
@@AutoAutopsy Years back, I had difficulty finding parts for the car. Clearly, you know how to get the parts, I didn't. And had rely on junkyard for parts.
I had real unicorn a few years ago. A 2004 9-5 Aero auto that was given the full Hirsch stage 3 works by Saab Australia, and was a demo car intended to showcase the various Hirsch options. So, it had Hirsch stage 3 tune, Garrett TB28 turbo, Hirsch front and rear bumpers, Hirsch carbon fibre dash and sill plates, Hirsch steering wheel and pedals, Hirsch twin exhaust, Hirsch brakes, Hirsch alloys etc. 305bhp and 325 lb ft torque. What a car. I must have been mental to sell it
Some things about Tuning on these. They will only take about 300hp on stock internals. The T7-engine(B205/B235) was designed to most of all increase fuel economy over the T5 engine (B204/B234). So they have lighter pistons and thinner piston rings which makes them weaker. So the stock pistons will only take about 300hp safely. The older T5 engines have far stronger internals. Having a 150hp 2,0t 9-5 from 2001, i benefit hugely from a stage 1 as it takes me to about 220hp depending on the tune.
Auto Autopsy just use a T5 bottom end with a T7 head and there’s a winning combo 😎 pistons need slight modification though. But a popular and good mod for a stronger engine for low bucks
I had my 2.3t lpt mapped to stage 1 flexfuel about two months ago. I think the best thing about is not the power and torque increase (from 280 to 390 nm with re85) but the way it drives. As you mentioned the pick up is much better making everyday driveability so much better, it feels like it should've been this way from the factory. Love it. One thing worth mentioning is the fact that all the week spots started to emerge, leaking and bad evap valves and vacuum hoses etc because the new mapping allows double the boost pressure than the original. Make sure to address those when you start to tune your car. Nice 9-5 by the way 👍
I've got a 9-5. Lpt 5sp. Open intake, colder plugs, oil catch can, insulated the intake pipe and exhaust manifold, 3.8 fuel pressure regulator. Need the 15t turbo and 3 inch exhaust...then on to Stage 3! Also looking to get the forged style bypass valve as well then ebay front mount intercooler.
The Raze... I don't know the best turbo option. From my research can only get 300hp. So I would like to go ahead and buy a bigger turbo..19t or so but not wanting to blow my stock internal engine. That's why I'm looking to get the 15t. Idk also this is a budget build lol.

The only way for it to boost fully for example is to hold it gear around 3-4000rpm for 7-8 seconds and then when I puty foot down it goes as it should, other wise it takes off like the cars missing half its boost 🤔. Get a Stage 1 Mike D tune on the 9-3 & see if it's faster.
I had a 1999 9-5 and had Mike D put in my turbo inlet pipe and tube the car when he was still working out his house driveway in N.H. I loved it
Hey, I am a current owner in the Phoenix area...its my understanding that you're down here too... I'm looking for someone who can sell and marry me a ecu in the area and was wondering if you could connect me with one?
Yeah I definitely can! Join Saab Club of Arizona on Facebook and make a post about it. Anthony Ferra should have one for ya he can marry!
👍👍👍
:)
I own a 2002 95 aero
I own a 2006 93 2.0T
The 95 is way better.
I have a stage one tune my 93. 95 is better
i like 9-3's more personally
@@AutoAutopsy i know you do!! My 95 aero has a custom krona exhaust. Coil overs lowered 2 inches. Cat delete. Stock tune (for now). The acceleration on the 95 is insane. Of course...i might feel different about my 93 if a had your turbo x :)
Deeply frustrating!
How?
