    My dad is a real big saab guy and when i was born he had a 9-5 which he and a friend used to develop their own tunes. Now his friend has an own company and sells the tunes for multiple saab models, and my dad uses his tunes on all his saabs as he gets them basically for free. A fun addition to the trims is that when you start the car you get a message, similar to the turbo x, but this one says "This Car Is Mackanized!" because the guys nickname is Mackan

    I had real unicorn a few years ago. A 2004 9-5 Aero auto that was given the full Hirsch stage 3 works by Saab Australia, and was a demo car intended to showcase the various Hirsch options. So, it had Hirsch stage 3 tune, Garrett TB28 turbo, Hirsch front and rear bumpers, Hirsch carbon fibre dash and sill plates, Hirsch steering wheel and pedals, Hirsch twin exhaust, Hirsch brakes, Hirsch alloys etc. 305bhp and 325 lb ft torque. What a car. I must have been mental to sell it

    Some things about Tuning on these. They will only take about 300hp on stock internals. The T7-engine(B205/B235) was designed to most of all increase fuel economy over the T5 engine (B204/B234). So they have lighter pistons and thinner piston rings which makes them weaker. So the stock pistons will only take about 300hp safely. The older T5 engines have far stronger internals.
    Having a 150hp 2,0t 9-5 from 2001, i benefit hugely from a stage 1 as it takes me to about 220hp depending on the tune.

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, 300ish is about the most these can handle without building the motor :(

      Auto Autopsy just use a T5 bottom end with a T7 head and there’s a winning combo 😎 pistons need slight modification though. But a popular and good mod for a stronger engine for low bucks

    I had my 2.3t lpt mapped to stage 1 flexfuel about two months ago. I think the best thing about is not the power and torque increase (from 280 to 390 nm with re85) but the way it drives. As you mentioned the pick up is much better making everyday driveability so much better, it feels like it should've been this way from the factory. Love it.
    One thing worth mentioning is the fact that all the week spots started to emerge, leaking and bad evap valves and vacuum hoses etc because the new mapping allows double the boost pressure than the original. Make sure to address those when you start to tune your car.
    Nice 9-5 by the way 👍

    Hi from England. I own a 2006 9-5 Aero 2.3t 260bhp manual and I'm a bit lost with low boost levels. So far I've done, maptun Diverter valve, apc valve, maf sensor, silicone hoses, Di cassette and spark plugs only using genuine oem parts or upgrades. The car is stock barring a 3" cat back system. I've had a smoke test done and revealed no leaks. The turbo, actuater and waste gate have been checked and all good and the catalyst is also fine. The only way for it to boost fully for example is to hold it gear around 3-4000rpm for 7-8 seconds and then when I puty foot down it goes as it should, other wise it takes off like the cars missing half its boost 🤔. Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated

    SAAB's can use a manual boost controller but it must be installed a certain way that doesn't make the saab enter limp mode & adding an intercooler, mistubishi td-04 & a saab approved aftermarket open/cold air intake, & 3 inch downpipe you could anyways be cheaper & go with 2 or 2.5 inch, & then custom stage tune via laptop.

    The 2004-2005 Saab 9-5 Aero is famous for being faster than a 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo in the same year (from 40 -70 mph)🏁🏁🏁👍🎬😁

    Trying it on third 50-75 (80-120) looks fairly slow. It doesn't drive like a stage 1. My stage 1 80-120 is around 3.8sec, this was over 5. Did You floor it down all the way ?

      @@AutoAutopsy I couldnot tell on the vid if you had to remove AC lines to get to it..my ECM is getting replaced soon, do you think that could keep the fan from coming on?
      ..also did it look like you could remove a single fan from the shroud
      rather than the entire assembly?
      ..love your videos and share your enthusiasm with saabs, also own 2 and sold an NA miata prior to getting them lol

    Stage1 is very good because you get a better gas mileage with it specially with 2 and 2,3 litre engines.
