This show was an integral part of my childhood and it helped me to cope in a lot of ways with a lot of crazy things I was going through. I’ll never forget getting a book that had fan mail addresses to many popular pop culture celebrities at the time and I remember writing a letter to both Melissa and to Jim Carrey. Both of them sent me headshots with their signatures and it melts my heart to remember that. Thank you Melissa for not only being such a great person today as you were back then but for staying a great example for all of us. I loved Clarissa Explains It All and that was where I originally started to watch your work. I was a teen during these years so I love that in a sense; I got to grow up with you!! Yes, the Geek episode was so good! And I've always loved how they didn't just go the typical route and have the episode end in Libby learning a lesson in empathy etc but instead have Libby LOVE being a geek and the show being like "Oh, no, Libby isn't popular/in charge because she's a beautiful cheerleader, she's actually just excellent at controlling and manipulating others because she's a sociopath" lol.
I always enjoy watching Sabrina The Teenage Witch. It's one of my favorite memories from my younger days. It's still one of my favorite TV shows from the 90s.
Such an awesome episode! I have loved Jenna for so many years, not just as Libby but as a musical theatre performer and to have her on your show I loved every minute of it. She’s the sweetest and my biggest dream would be to meet both of you when you come back to the uk!
I found this super interesting. The fact that Melissa served in a “straight woman”/“anchor” capacity is not something I was ever really aware of, but I knew I always appreciated Sabrina for her levelheadedness in the midst of chaos. As a kid whose life was very chaotic at times, I actually found this super reassuring and comforting while watching Sabrina as a 12-year old. She wasn’t afraid. She figured stuff out when it seemed there was no way out. I think it was genius. It was needed and necessary for the demographic it was meant for. ❤
....... watching it as an adult means realizing Sabrina was a stubborn idiot who should have listened to adults who had experience and knowledge on her, the same as all kids. She listened to her heart, but she made very poor choices bc she didn't think about the long term consequences

I believe Mr. Pool’s actor, Paul Fieg, became a producer when he was let go from Sabrina. After Sabrina, I believe that’s when he made the switch from actor to producer. He would produce Bridesmaids years later. As for Jenny, audiences apparently didn’t respond well to her, and she was recast with Valerie the next season.

I know my age group is not the intended audience for “Sabrina the teenage witch“, but I love the first season and, so, I was delighted when Jenna referenced that season as her favorite. So many great guest stars including Debbie Harry of the group, Blondie, along with The violent femmes playing themselves. it was never mentioned here, but I am sure that Melissa Joan Hart remembers turning Jenna into a pineapple! I rewatched Sabrina over and over again since the age of 16 (that's ten years!), but I got to know, what happened to the cast members that were unexpectedly written out? Namely, Lindsay Sloane. All I've seen is that producers have let her go because of popularity, but I feel like it's more than that. This is something that has bothered me for a long time.
Libby was GREAT in Geek Like Me! And its hilarious that Mr. Pool created Freaks and Geeks-- i was watching that episode with my son just the other day and commented out loud how many times this show said "Freaks" and "Geeks" and mentioned that show.
My favourite Libby was When Teens Collide when they swapped personalities, and Sabrina became so mean and her gold magic became scarlet red. But she found her personality on Libby annoying and the same when Valerie becomes her she finds “Sabrina’s” personality annoying. When she tries to act down like Valerie normally did when Valerie as Sabrina cheers her up she thinks “Am I really that obnoxious”
@Melissa, wondering when you'll going to do do a show, talking about your guest spot, on Double Dare & any fun memories, from meeting Marc Summers & Clarissa Reunion.
Libby!!! Ever since Harvey and Aunt Hilda appeared on the show, I’ve been wondering when Sabrina’s arch nemesis would make an appearance. As Jenna, mentioned, people often expect her to be a mean girl in real life, but that’s clearly not the case. It was wonderful hearing her familiar voice, and seeing what an articulate and genuine woman she is, winking whenever she makes a subtle joke. Furthermore, she has an impeccable memory regarding episodes of “Sabrina” and what went on behind the scenes, so I think they really should do a watch-along episode together in person one day in Nashville as Jenna proposed. Perhaps they could give running commentary about the episode with “Blondie,” who came at Melissa’s request, but with whom she never really interacted. This anecdote led to a related one told by Amanda, who is usually the one who pushes people to talk to people they are nervous to meet. In this un-photographed moment, her husband took the lead for once and approached his idol, Steven Spielberg, at “Hamilton.” How cool is that? Finally, it was so priceless watching both Jenna and Amanda’s reactions when Melissa admitted that she had no idea what the Broadway musical “Wicked” was about, and interesting hearing about Jenna’s flying experience during the production.
Libby should've followed Sabrina out of high school the same way Paris Geller did Rory Gilmore. Would've loved to see her more.
She'd already left by then. Libby moved away before Sabrina's final year in High School.
Agreed! They should’ve been roommates! And then become unlikely friends. Maybe she could even learn that Sabrina was a witch. 😮😮😮

I missed seeing Libby on the show, but I can't remember if it's because Jenna was such a presence or because I had a massive crush on Libby
I saw Jenna in WICKED in Chicago...and the day I saw it....Jenna was in as Elphaba
I've always loved Libby lol now we need to get Valerie to come on the podcast 😊
@Melissa, wondering when you'll going to do do a show, talking about your guest spot, on Double Dare & any fun memories, from meeting Marc Summers & Clarissa Reunion.
Great ideas - TEAM WWB

Jenna (Libby) is fantastic.
I think Sabrina the movie served as a pilot for the show
Thanks, it was I think 🤔, 1996 , with different characters, but not much, .
I saw Jenna as Nessarose in Wicked!
Jenna played Libby and Nessarose, both characters get power and abuse the crap out of it 😂
JENNA IS SO NICE IN REAL LIFE!
Like no time has passed!
The show wasn't the same after Libby was gone.
I think it’s weird, they seem to get along so well and Jenny played a mean girl and I was shocked to find out she was nice in real life
