Thank you for doing this! Looks like you are a natural and wonderful at being a florist. I noticed you were using fresh flowers, so I was wondering how long those last in the garland and how long the garland will last thanks!
I can't find floral glue where I live. Can you use hot glue instead? Also, since you didn't put your flower in water tubes, how long will the fresh flowers last. Thank you for your time....love the way you explain everything.
Wonderful and clear cut video....thankyou! Quick question... how do you keep the eucalyptus garland from shriveling before the event. I was going to make mine two days before the event and am just using eucalyptus garland, no flowers.
Absolutely beautiful, so happy I saw this. I am going to make garlands for my daughters wedding and was looking at the same eucalyptus...I read you can keep a damp towel over the greens and in a cool spot...my concern was the flowers...I was actually going to put on the flowers in tubes the night before and place them in the garland with the tubes hidden. The floral adhesive is a great idea...are the flowers pretty secure with the glue for transport and how do you transport to venue.
I missed your comment! I'm sorry! I snake them carefully into long flower boxes. If you have a nice florist in the area, you might be able to snag a couple from them.
Beautiful and very helpful. I am hoping to make hoping to make 7 garlands, 6 feet I hope, first time. How many days before should I start and would I keep it fresh and would fresh and a few artificial flowers be ok to use?
Absolutely beautiful work you do . It’s so cool running into your video this evening as I was wanting to learn to do exactly these beautiful garlands . What a blessing . Thank you so much for sharing . I truly appreciate being able to learn this 😊
Beautiful Garland! Do you know about how many pounds of the two eucalyptus you used for the 8’ garland? Can you show what a 1.5lb of silver dollar or Seeded eucalyptus looks like? Thankyou
Apparently I missed your comment! I am not absolutely sure how to answer the by weight question. Greens are sold by weight, but usually in grams. I'm going to guess that a bunch of eucalyptus is between 750 - 1000 grams, but I do not know for sure. I estimate one bunch for every two feet of garland at this thickness. Four bunches for eight feet x 850ish grams?
This is an awesome tutorial video. I am trying to create something similar for my daughter's wedding to go around 3 glass cylinder floating candles. I assume it would be the same process just make it a circle around the candles?
I use the same process, make short garlands and then tie two ends together to make a wreath. You can also just lay pieces between the candles if you want a more natural and unkempt look.
Hi. Beautiful garland! Do the flowers not go bad if you leave overnight? I want to make a similar garland for a baby shower and was worried about the flowers wilting if I make it the day before. Any suggestions? Thanks
Any suggestions what flowers can you use on the garland in September for fall color ? In California ? My daughter wants rust and blue and white ? I hope I hear back from you thank you ..
Can you sent a link where did you buy your glue you used for the garland. ? And how long flowers can look fresh if they whit out water. Thank you. I am a new florist. So this information will help me. And if you don’t mind to share how much you charge per one like this garland ? Beautiful flowers. Thank you.
For me, I price based on the retail cost of the fresh products and then simply double, as this is labor intensive and my labor fee is 50%. You could also estimate the time it will take you and add an hourly rate to your retail fresh product total. Remember that your labor rate is also helping to pay for things like rent, insurance, utilities, etc. Don't short yourself.

If only using eucalyptus for the garland, how far in advance can it be made? Thanks.
It really depends on where they are kept. If you're storing them in a cooler or a nice cool and dark room, most flowers wouldn't have any trouble holding up. If you leave them out in a warm location, they will start to wilt. These still looked pretty good kept outside in a tent overnight after the wedding.
Thanks for the question! I’m using fresh eucalyptus and flowers including roses in this garland. They hold up great as long as they stay in refrigeration. You can make them a couple days in advance if needed. Thanks for watching❤️
Oops… I answered your other question. I believe this eight foot garland took 2 1/2 bunches of eucalyptus. It’s a thin Garland. A thicker one would take more. I usually assume one full bunch for every two feet of garland.
@@sandratuminello5027 foliage like eucalyptus is not sold by the stem. They are generally sold by weight or growers bunch, so always budget a little more than you think you’ll need.
I've never had a problem with eucalyptus staining, but I'm also not using varieties that are very resinous. You could potentially have that issue with certain flowers in certain colors and other greenery that I'm not using here.
Very Beautiful work! What was the name and type of eucalyptus that you used? I like the white seeded look that you used, not that yellow kind that looks like a weed.
Thanks for the question! The flowers will look good for a couple of days if kept in proper refrigeration. You can use a hydration chamber if you’re using really sensitive materials. I actually went back to the venue the day after this event and most of the flowers still looked pretty good… not perfect, but pretty good. There are other sprays that some florists use as well, but I’ve tried to reduce the amount of chemicals I’m using. The glue is enough for me 😂
@@TheFlowerRoom What if I don't have a flower fridge? The wedding is in December. I live in Louisiana. Can I leave them outside/garage? Louisiana weather is very unpredictable, but it may be cool enough to leave in the garage. What do you think?
@@sandratuminello9697 if you have air conditioning, you can keep them in an air conditioned space. The cooler the better. Under 60 degrees f but above 35 is ideal. The garage would be the next best option. Whatever the case, definitely keep them out of direct sunlight and don’t let them dry out. You can always spritz them with water and keep them under plastic trash bags, but you’ll want to make sure it’s not wet and warm enough to mold. Put the flowers on the night before or the morning of depending on time allowance/time of the event. I hope that helps!
Some varieties of eucalyptus are more sappy than others. The one I think you’d end up having trouble with is the traditional spiral eucalyptus. It’s not used often for garlands, but definitely has a higher amount of resin than the others. With these types, it comes off on my hands while I’m manipulating it, but not when it’s stationary. I hope that helps!
If they are kept in cooler, they can go a few days. With no flowers on them and kept in a cooler, you could conceivably keep them for a couple of weeks with no trouble.
Can you please do a wall screen garland with hanging eucalyptus in between please. I want to creat a wall of eucalyptus on my living room wall but I don’t want empty space so a garland and strings full or not of eucalyptus please. And maybe an estimate of what that will cost
If you have a floral cooler to keep them in, there is no reason you can’t make the garlands a week or so in advance and then as the flowers the day before.
@@cvfamily4 if you have refrigeration, you can make it up to a week ahead. If you’re planning on keeping it in an air conditioned room or basement, I’d say that if you mist it lightly and keep it covered loosely with plastic, you can probably get away with 36 hours or so
Garlands range from $25/ft to $100/ft depending on the greenery used and if and what flowers are added. I cannot remember the exact pricing on this one. Probably $50-$60/ft. You have to price according to your own costs though.
If I were using very water hungry flowers like hydrangea, I would use tubes of some sort, but for most applications the flowers only need to last for a day once they are delivered, so I don't worry much about it. We try to use as little plastic as we can get away with.
Je pense que vous demandez ce qui peut être fait pour les garder frais. Les stocker dans une glacière aidera leur longévité et ils peuvent durer sans fleurs pendant plusieurs semaines ou avec des fleurs pendant plusieurs jours dans une glacière.
Without looking up that specific event, I'd guess somewhere between $225 - $300 per garland. Pricing depends so much on what I can buy in bulk, availability and seasonality that it changes slightly depending on the event. Thanks for the question.

How many bunches of silver dollar and seated eucalypt do you use for this ? A buch and a bunch guirland?
