This version you can hear more of the original song from the late great Al Jarreau. What Will did was pure god mode improvising from the heart, mind, and soul. Remember Jarreau died two years before Will went viral and Black and Blues was somewhat of an HBCU standard because of the melodic values it lends to a full marching band.
As a band it just sounds like that, a band. Nothing stands out. Wills solo stands out. You mentioned him here, is prove of that. His solo killed and he officially owns this song and anyone who tries it, will be compared to will 🔥
It was okay but this rendition is missing the soul because it's a very technical expression. The horns are too tight. Jsu is a very great band but if they get to technical thw sound is less soulful. These kids be up at 5 am practicing.
Where exactly do you see "Cheerleaders" in this footage?... Are you referring to the crowd cheering, or a particular collegiate cheer team?... For purpose of accurate observation, there is not any collegiate cheerleading team present in the this particular footage...
