I bought a new r1250r last year 2020, called to day to take it in for an oil change, they said i had a one month wait and it would cost me $410! i'm pretty handy and with your video i'll just do it myself. Oh OEM oil change kit, $84:)
Nice spot with a cool looking Blue R1200R. You can use the Motoscan App with an OBD module to reset the service light. Also you can slide the screw driver bit through the slot to use as a leaver instead of using the channel lock.
To prevent oil from dripping onto the exhaust I place a piece of aluminum foil under the exhaust folded up at three sides and the side facing you folded down to drain past the pipe. I like the extra lights you’ve added by the way.

Sir you have right genuine and aftermarket are completely different,i spline (cutted with hand saw) genuine bmw mahle and aftermarket mahle,it seems that density of filter material is much more in genuine one than aftermarket mahle,even mahle produce for bmw filters it seems that there is huge difference.

I have a BMWr1200r 2017 model, is there a service mileage indicator on the dash computer that needs resetting if you do the oil change or service yourself, if so i have looked through mine and can't find anything to do with servicing and would like to give it ago myself.

Fyi the engine cap opening handle should have holes you can stick the Phillips/Torx rod in and use it as leverage.

My approach to torquing things down is tighten until it strips, then back it off 1/4 turn.

It does have a service light and eventually it needs to be turned off or ignored

Errrr.....gearbox on a LC R-bike? Yeah, doesn't have one chief. Only engine (which is also for the clutch), and final drive.
