Southeast, Midwest, East, West...It doesn't matter, there is no escape from Ripa's camera! Honestly, I think the Utah crew has been practicing in anticipation of Ripa's arrival. 😁
Thanks as always for capturing and posting these. I'm glued to my screen while watching the "butt-pucker" launches. Fly-in or no, I don't understand why people attempt to fly in turbulent conditions.
Very interesting. Lots of ITV wings, I wonder if there's an ITV dealer nearby. Gusty somewhat challenging conditions, that reveal the people that have spent time ground handling versus those who don't round handle and just do forwards in relatively calm conditions. Head around the 5 minute mark, there was a pilot who knew how to ground handle he was flying a green ITV wing and he had pretty much a textbook inflation when control followed by a smooth launch. Spectacular scenery! Where exactly in Utah was this?
Just because you can buy a 1400 or 1500 frame to spin a 140 prop doesn't mean you need to. I'm 6'4 and the 1520mm skymax is almost to big and annoying to run with. I noticed at least 2 guys who should definitely go down a hoop size to help with take offs. Great videos as always! Can't wait for sunniland at least. :)
@@JesseWyrick-w9ithe geometry of the Skymax puts the harness very high in relation to the thrust centerline. This puts the bulk of the chassis and hoop very low, that’s why it’s always hitting your calves. High thrust CL chassis like Iris and Limitless brings the chassis up much higher for the pilot to run with plenty of clearance no matter how tall. The trade off is a bit more pitch stability for the Skymax in flight
@Ellwoodsss1 i have both sizes the 1420mm and the 1520mm. I was really talking about the very short gentleman flying the scout paramotor. I've learned to deal with either size frame. I know i mentioned it but just something I've noticed. I'd definitely like to try a few other frames ,iris, macfly, pap, scout, to see how the ground handle and fly.
@@JesseWyrick-w9i next time your around some other paramotors, take a look at where the upper harness attachment is located on the chassis in relation to the center of the prop. I had a Skymax 1520 that would smack my calves constantly at 5’6 and there’s nothing that can be done. The harness should have been lowered a bit on the 1520. The scout just has a ton of recline built into the geometry which is comfortable in the air but makes for somewhat awkward launching
@@ripmanridin7092Thanks. Not too bad. In Salida at 7500' I can launch in the summer with my single skin glider at sunrise, but landings can be really fast due to the air density.....not to mention that the wind can come from 3 different directions at times.🫤
@@IrisPPG Thanks. In Salida in the summer it is not unusual for the air density to be 11,000'. I can launch with my single skin, but the landings are really too fast.

This LZ was HUGE and very few people were flying due to high wind. It was totally fine. If you are worried about what someone is doing on the other side of the LZ... probably best sit this one out.... 🙃

Nice video, didn't disappoint! Looks like I'll have to stick to the East coast fly in's...... don't want to get my pretty wing dirty!
All of that equipment ages twice as fast there. So much dust lol. But looks like a pretty area.

Dude, it IS your uncle from Brooklyn.
Bit spicy out there.
Always a good show.

We were also at 5500 with density altitude much higher. I assure you, nobody was overpowered at this event.

niezły film, pozdrowienia z polski!
Hey bud! Thanks for stopping by
Little bit of wind changes everything.
Great compilation as usual! Thanks, Ripman!

I dont know............
