Yea I agree that this is a bit too much. I honestly don't understand where these buffs came from. Armored Assault might be the only "normal" buff she had, but rest are just overkill. Not sure why devs think Maiev has a hard time to outmaneuver opponents in the late game, since from my experience that's not the case at all. A 2nd Vault charge is just OP (Tho I'd argue that Maiev was OP before the buffs to begin with) Everyone says Pin Down is hard to get, but it's really not that difficult if you invest some time into learning it. It was already the strongest talent on the tier & now you only need 2 stacks to get the same value that fully completing the talent gave in the past. Maiev's Q didn't need a 10% damage buff & I don't think the Armored Assault buff makes it compete with the other talents on the tier, since Q build got buffed for whatever reason. I do think Disc is underrated, but I also think it's pretty hard to get more value out of than Cage. Every time I pick it I kind of miss not having Cage, since it's much easier to get value out of & just works well with how Maiev's kit works & since Maiev prefers fighting multiple heroes at a time taking an enemy out of the fight seems kind of counter productive, unless you're playing W or E build where getting Q resets isn't as important. I don't know if the buff was good or overkill or not, but I still wouldn't pick it over Cage.
I actually can't believe they buffed her. She's already so incredibly strong with good play. Perhaps they are trying to make her less punishing for beginners so she's more attractive?
@@spavogel7625 blizzard never was able to make heroes easier/stronger for beginner while the skill level remains the same for great players. same issue with illidan over all these years
These are big buffs. People don't realize. I think she did need buffs. The silence after disk also makes it so enemies can't instantly blink away or something afterwards. One disk, one kill now.
I think Maiev has always been a difficult hero when it comes across many aspects like popularity, mastery, playability etc... And I think it is displayed quite well in her stats that actually led to the recent buffs - I too play Maiev delightedly and she's been one of my favourite heroes since she was published in WC 3 TFT; and we all remember the meta struggle when she entered the Nexus and one could already figure some budget trouble behind her poor making and design in some ways - but since then there has always been the trouble with her either being a real c*nt in the right hands of a pro... or just useless throughout the entire game 🤣 I'm sorry, and it's mostly QM experience I'm sharing but at least for this "field" I can say after years: I barely meet another Maiev player who even manages to finish her W quest in a game - not even merely thinking of pin-down! I mean: sure this is a professional debate and I agree the entire focus on competitive gameplay but in regard of her underperformance and low popularity in QM (although her difficulty is classified as medium or sth...) - what is blizzard supposed to do?!
I agree. Maiev was strong to begin with, now she's insane. I tried her already, and I definitely felt those buffs. They were not needed.

I'd like to see a Maiev player that doesn't struggle to complete the pin down quest when not against a heavy melee comp.

I played againts you some years ago in qm. You da best with Maiev.
