Ill be honest, I have not opened MTG cards since when i was in highschool in the mid 2000's, since I'm a big AC fan this set will get me back into opening some packs
I mean they can try and make it exciting but these packs are snooze. Such a shame they so deeply cut down the fallout ones yet this trash will be around forever I feel. 😢
Its cool for fans of the games. And thats how people should look at it. Nobody forces you to buy a product. The set is not so powerful that it will make a lasting impact on modern.
I’m a big Assassins Creed fan so this set is fun and definitely gonna be making an assassin deck from scratch with this plus some of my other cards. Also the art is sick in this set
My mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, just dump on some product instead. She was a real progressive woman you see. :) Edit: on a side note. Morgan, I think you might be onto something. If a card sees play..... It might hold value ... Someone should write that down!! ;)
I agree with you, the only thing that catches my eye are the sword reprints. Serialized pulls are nice but next to impossible, so not worth it if that's what you're going for. But if you're a fan of AC then this could be a fun introduction to MTG.
I dont hate it, but not for me enough to not be interested at the short printed prices. Might look locally and see if i can find some collectors for under $30 usd just for the chance at a serial, otherwise am ok skipping.
People in the comments who hate on these sets are the same people that get smacked with a build from these new sets and cry cause they can’t tutor their 2 card win con 😂
Set is trash imo...but I'm not a huge die hard fan of creed either...I do enjoy the games but for mtg cards....dont see them that great. Just my opinion...love ya'll shows! Watch you daily!
Hey guys! Just thought I'd let you know that the stand-up coaster at Wonderland (Skyrider) was removed before 2019 as it was replaced by the Yukon Striker
What can a "new" player do with these cards? They have zero cards and this is their first set. What are they going to do? Invest a few thousand to play Modern? Retaining someone who buys this because of the IP, has to be challenging, because what else will they have to look forward to?
@@mythito5120 Yeah. That's what I figured. When Paul brought up that retaining the new customers is important, but this set doesn't feel like that can be possible, because you can't draft or use a precon to teach with. The set is basically pretty art cards f9r the AC fan
There are starter decks to learn the game with. Where the player goes after that is up to them. Likely commander, because as you said the player won't go from buying a starter to jumping in to full modern.
Universes Beyond is a way WotC enters new markets. The point is not to sell to players. The point is to sell to fans of the IP who don't buy WotC products. If there's a crossover hit with players, that's just bonus for WotC. But the sets are not made for players. The exception is the full sets with UB IP, like Lord of the Rings.
So, did WOTC do these in Aftermath style packs because they didn't want to make a full set, or because they thought they would make more money selling 7 card packs? Think I'm skipping this set.
Two main complaints about aftermath: 5 cards a pack and multiple repeated pulls in those packs. At a card pool of 110 they feel like this is the middle ground to ameliorate these issues and make a successful epilogue style booster. "7 cards is more than we got before!" but it's not a full sized booster where you'd feel the same amount of repeated pulls and go ah crap it's aftermath again. This plus pulling in people who like the IP and including chase cards like the swords might be a recipe to actually hit the profit margins they were hoping from with an aftermath style set up. They'll probably couple this with a way reduced print run to ensure a degree of success. That's my theory at least.
They've been experimenting with ways to raise prices in ways that aren't obvious to customers. Epilogue Boosters were straight shrinkflation, and the reaction told them they went too far. Beyond Boosters are still shrinkflation, but a bit less. They'll keep experimenting with pack size until they find something that customers accept and represents a price increase.
Is his name really that hard for people to pronounce? Like I know the : in the middle probably throws people off at first. But just slow it down and go syllable by syllable. I don’t mean this in a rude way, but it shows respect to the character and Native people to just learn how to say one name. Much love to y’all.

Aftermath 2.0 ??
you beat me too it.
THERES NO WAY THEY GIVE YOU A TINY PRE RELEASE DICE IN THE BUNDLE BOX INSTEAD OF THE GORGEOUS PRETTY GIANT DIE . Im even more upset now
I would dedicate full play sessions to just climbing tall buildings and jumping in haystacks. Best. Video game. Mechanic. Ever. Lol
Great opening, Ezio was the main character of the second game, Altair being the main character of the first game.
Ezio was the main character of three games.
It’s so wild that they based and named a card off a ninja turtle 🐢
Having AC sandwiched between MH3 and Bloomburrow is probably for the best

This is not a good product in my opinion.

Yes to this
Cool box though
Not going to say why? 😂

Excited that all the singles I want are popping up a lot in the treatment I'm looking for. Prices should be good.
I like this a lot. The etched look great and there’s some great cards in the set. Not a huge AC but it’s not aftermath. It’s double the set size.
People in the comments who hate on these sets are the same people that get smacked with a build from these new sets and cry cause they can’t tutor their 2 card win con 😂
Great opening, Altair is the main character for the 1st game, Ezio is the main character for the 2nd game.
It took me a full booster box to get eward kenway
Anyone wanna talk about how they pulled almost every pack having a shao jun lol
Our high score so far was 3 in one pack :O
I think the Frye family is in Syndicate?
Correct
I pulled a full art ezio from my bundle
This does not at all seem worth it
i have one paul
👎🏽
Im the chicken guy!
Set is trash imo...but I'm not a huge die hard fan of creed either...I do enjoy the games but for mtg cards....dont see them that great. Just my opinion...love ya'll shows! Watch you daily!
30:27 Roshan is actually from the newest release, AC Mirage. She’s Basim’s mentor throughout the game and a pretty cool character
Haytham Kenway is pronounced HAY-thehm Kenway in the video game

If they are getting it just for the IP, they have no reason to start playing and probably they will just collect for their favorite franchises.

I just get a play booster to enjoy the artwork from AC. But won't go crazy on buying product. A commander deck would've been nice
This is an early comment on an early opening of Assassins Creed!
Syndicate is confirmed as where the Frye twins are from. 2015
Jacob and Evie Frye are both from Syndicate
Hey first sword seen opened in any pack/channel so far
Art is fantastic for fan of AC it's a banger
❤

Great question, not sure why. I don't like the pack setup either, but the set itself is better than Aftermath IMO

Aya kassandra and all ezio are good
Great opening, Altair is the main character for the 1st game, Ezio is the main character for the 2nd game.
Watching in 2024! Who else??
