This is the place my parents always used to take us on many holidays, it was close to home, but it was also in the late 70s, very quiet, beautiful beaches, camping by the beach, no hotels, great memories
San Felipe is great. I remember going in the late 70s early 80s.
Heartbreaking to see it so quiet down there. The pandemic must've been rough for them down there. I LOVE San Felipe!
Sorry Bobby, I must have missed your comment months ago. Yes, it's a great little town. Thanks for watching
Appreciate the video!... Thanks for the update... Spent quite a bit of time there 25-35 years ago... Lots of changes.... Best to you!...
Great little town. Like you, I used to go with friends in the 80's and 90's too. Thanks for watching
been living here in T.J for 23 years now, really like your videos.
I live in south mexico, and 2 weeks I will start a new life in San Felipe, with my wife and kid so I'm hoping get a nice job and be happy with my family sorry my bad English
Your English is perfect. Best of luck to you and your family. San Felipe is a nice town.
I just got back from San Felipe, I’d never been there before, beautiful actually, I listened to what you said about Mexican insurance so I went on line and just a few dollars more I had full coverage, had my passport they never asked to see it, just like my previous experiences gong to rocky point just a less than five minute vehicle inspection, I had a very good time
San Felipe is a great little town. Glad you had a good trip. Good idea to get that insurance. I never had an accident, but it would be a real problem without insurance.
I remember renting ATVs down there and riding all over San Felipe years ago lol it was a blast
I just rented an ATV a month ago in San Felipe. Good times
Randomly found your channel browsing TH-cam. It's great, love your videos. Just moved to San Diego and have been thinking about traveling to Mexico too.
You're wearing a sweatshirt in San Felipe in June! Dude!... Tourism is down Mon-Thurs, but it gets very, very crowded Friday and Saturday nights.... Another great video. Thanks for posting.
That was last month. Glad the weekend is picking up. Thanks for checking it out. Joe
@@EagerExpat I thought it might be... The drone footage is good. I like how you kind of stay on quiet scenes for a few moments. Hope you're well. It is hot as blazes here in late June! Take care. Chris
Living on San Diego I need to get my Baja footage in batches. If I can't get into Thailand in Sept, I might take a long Baja trip
@@EagerExpat The La Paz video made the place look cool. Are there Sea of Cortez and Pacific coast routes down Baja? Is one better?
@@ChristiaanHartNibbrig La Paz is great. I'm no expert on the highway routes. I've did San Diego to Cabo 2 or 3 times. H1 stays more to the Pacific side. It also goes inland and you can head toward the Sea of Cortez on smaller roads. As you know you can take the H5 down pretty far these days. I remember when a lot of that route was dirt roads.
From San Felipe you can get out and explore. Mulege is another great town. Loreto is fun too.
Mexican Car Insurance is very important. I'm an affiliate for a great company in San Diego. Check out my link to Baja bound below. You can find a great policy using my link, at no extra cost to you. Below is a link to my video on how important it is to drive in Mexico with the proper insurance policy.

Beautiful video, me gusta mucho San Felipe
San Felipe is nice. Thanks for watching. Today I live in Thailand. Hopefully you'll check out another Baja video. Or some of my SE Asia material. See ya later
@@EagerExpat sure, you just got a new subscriber Sir!!
A great place to sipp on Some cold ones and puff on that gateway!
Its a great little town. Thanks for watching
Interesting place, thanks for posting.
Yes San Felipe is a cool little shrimping town. About a hundred miles from Calexico. We used to go with the dirt bikes often
"The health thing" - such a classic understatement. Like the videos, great shots of the bigger picture.
Yes, I hope the health crisis is all a bad memory soon. Hopefully you'll follow me when I move next year to Thailand. I have plenty of hobbies, but hopefully TH-cam will keep me busy. Take it easy, Joe
Nice video and music, looks so cool the beach, my next vacation is in that place.
San Felipe is nice. You'll have a great time. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video. Now you can pretty much walk across the San ysidro border with no issue.
That's good. Baja is a great place to visit
Great shots, ,👍
Thanks for watching Paul. San Felipe is awesome. It's a little slow, but sometimes that's a good thing. Great fishing, explore the back trails on an ATC or 4x4. It's a little like Baja in the 1960's. And your back in California in 2 hours. Well maybe 4 hours, with a two hour wait at the border. Cross at 11pm and you'll sail across
Hey, great video! I'm just wondering, what is it like living there? Cause, I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Baja California looks like a very beautiful and interesting place to live, so I would love to know your thoughts...
I love Baja. It would be a great place to live. I also like KL. Visited many times. I'm in Bali today. Thanks for watching
Haven’t been to San Felipe in about 17 years. Last time I was there I got really bad food poisoning and coming back stateside was a bitch! SF hasn’t really changed since.
Sorry to hear that. I got some bad shrimp a decade ago myself. Luckily the next 100 meals were perfect. The outskirts of town are growing with expat condos. But, the town stays the same. Thanks for watching. Joe
So beautiful
Its a great little town. Just 100 miles down. Head down and check it out. Thanks for watching, Joe
@@EagerExpat ok I will thanks man
NICE! I've been looooving my sentri lately :)
That's great. Make a San Felipe run soon. 100 miles down from Calexico. Always a great trip. Thanks for checking out the video. Joe
@@EagerExpat any cool clubs over there in San Felipe?
@@TRider09 Mostly beach bar style. Rockodile is a larger bar like Papas and Beer
Fishing has really dropped off since the colorado river no longer reaches the sea of cortez.
I'm not a huge fisherman. I've fished down in the east cape before. That's considered some of the best fishing in the world. Or it used to be.
How well does the internet work down their?
I've always got decent speed. Hopefully Christian will see this question. He lives in San Felipe. These days I get fast internet all over the world. The problem with smaller motels is they might share a router designed for a single home. 15 rooms all trying to stream Netflix will be a problem.
I would use a hotspot off my phone
@@SuperPacificcoast My T-Mobile worked fine when roaming. You might need to switch (if your phone doesn't do it) from 5G to 3G/4G in San Felipe. Not sure if they have 5G towers yet.
Hk, adelita type clubs in Ensenada? Need some names thinking about heading out there
Not really. A couple of strip clubs that are so/so. Foxy's I believe. About 2 blocks from Hussongs. It was closed a few months ago. Last time i was in Ensenada. Still worth the trip. Stay close to El Cid Best Western. That's the main drag
If its $80 or less the Holiday Inn express is brand new. If you're going on a budget, plenty of $20 motels 4 or 5 blocks inland. Not the greatest area though. Im usually in town for the night. So ill pay a little more and have a parking guard, etc.. Have a great trip. Stop off at Halfway House on the free road. Have a beer on the bluff over the Pacific. Its half way between Tijuana and Ensenada. Watch the road entering Ensenada. Maybe 5 miles or so. Easy to speed and I always see people getting tickets
In the night the street dogs settle their grudges and alpha dogs establish dominance.. Sometimes the growling is spooky
It's true. Gotta give the street dogs room to roam
is it mostly for old folks ?
It's more mellow, but I see all ages. During spring break thousands of college kid arrive. Rubio's Fish Tacos started from a college run to San Felipe decades ago. Today I see younger people from Mexicali and Tijuana enjoying the town. But there are also plenty of retirees. Especially when its cold in Canada and the Midwest.
If I fly into the San Diego airport, how can I get a rental car I can drive in Mexico? Do I have to cross the border and rent One in tijuana? If so, how do I get from the airport to there? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I want to drive down and experience ensenada, rosarito, and maybe San Felipe.
Any girlie bars 🐕
I know they come into town on race weekends. I walked past a few places in the video
Thank for actually San Felipe and not a bunch of TACO AND MARGARITA close ups. WTF are people thinking 🤔
That's cool. People like to see the street food too. I did a TJ taco stand myself. You're right though, much more to see in San Felipe. Moving to Thailand in 10 days. Hope you check it out. Joe
@@EagerExpat hope you post Tailand Video. I’m visiting Bali next May.
@@bohoxplorer840 I will. Bali too. Ill probably be there in Nov. Thanks for watching
