Great video! I’m so glad I I watched this before purchasing the books! I think I may have gotten the wrong book. When is the projected release dates for books 4 & 5?

We don't yet have a release date for Using Language Well Books 4 and 5. Sonya is working on writing them but she has several other projects ahead of those in the queue.

Very, very helpful. Thank you!!! Just curious.... How many more levels are you guys expecting to release in this series?

So sorry we missed this question! Eventually, the Using Language Well series will be five books, corresponding with the five Spelling Wisdom books. Books 4 and 5 are still being written.

Curious if there is an update on book 4 and 5 release date? Thank you!

Thank you for reaching out with your question! We do not yet have a timeframe for the continuation of this series. We're glad you're excited about upcoming resources from SCM! We don't give release dates because we've learned over the years that publishing often takes longer than we expect it to-we don't want anyone to be disappointed if we have to move a release date back. The best way to stay up to date on new resources from SCM is to follow our blog, join our Facebook group (Simply Charlotte Mason Homeschooling), or sign up for our weekly e-mails, where all new resources will be announced first. Here is a link to the blog on our website as well as a spot where you can sign up to receive the weekly emails if you so chose.

What is the best thing to do if your child is 8 and only misses a few words on the assessment for book 2? I thought holding on formal language arts lessons until age 10, would that be appropriate? Thank you!

Hi Mila. Charlotte Mason encouraged families to hold off on formal grammar and studied dictation until approximately 4th grade. You can definitely hold off until she is 10.

@@SimplyCharlotteMason thank you so much! We are really excited to start using SCM resources this upcoming year. I was becoming overwhelmed with deciding if anyways using book 1 set or holding off. We have other resources to use until then, McGuffey readers journaling pages etc. I think it will be exciting to stop the curriculum use for this subject and simply read and do some sketching and doodles instead! Creativity use💗

Hi. I just tested my son, and he did not know 10 of the words on level 1. Would he be ok to start level 1?

What do you do if your child has dysgraphia?

    • @SimplyCharlotteMason

We recommend requiring no more than writing 1-2 sentences when a student first begins studied dictation. They will study the entire passage but you will only dictate those 1-2 sentences. This is helpful for those with dysgraphia. Another option is to allow them to type their dictation (if they know how to type) making sure spell check is turned off.
