Steve Kornacki is NBC's Election coverage specialist. Probably the best in his field. We have a similar guy here in Australia, Anthony Green that does the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's (ABC) Election coverage. Both are experts in their fields.

People who are voting Republicans are worried about the economy, but you won't have a prosperous economy if you don't have a stable democracy. People MUST accept results of elections win or lose. That's a functioning democracy. I had plenty issues with some democratic policies while heading to the pole, but I couldn't vote for someone who claimed elections were rigged even before votes were counted.
I think "worry about the economy" is the cover,. because saying they want a Christofascist oligarchy run by billionaires looks insanely self-loathing. GOP is terrible on economic issues. All they do is give the 1% tax cuts and slash basic survival programs like Social Security, Medicare, and the ACA...They seem to want to take away the rights of women, gays, and people of color but that makes them look like monsters so they say oh its the economy.
Nobody should be voting Republican because of the economy anyway! It's the Republicans who've screwed it up. The Dems haven't been doing enough to fix how the Repubs screwed things up, but everything they *have* done has only helped the economy. Michael Moore wrote a book in the early 2000’s and one chapter was dedicated to his belief that if U.S politics could somehow be made to be entertaining on the level of sports coverage then more people would be engaged with it. Twenty years later his belief has manifested itself.

Without the Supreme Court overturning Roe, I think Republicans would have made huge gains in this midterm.
People are polarized..they will vote Grampa Biden and party to keep Trump out! Trump attacking very popular DeSantis was a horrible move! I know Republicans that voted Democrat just to keep Trump away !

Blue is Good
Everyone needs to keep in mind that the GOP could win both the House and Senate even though they’ve performed below expectations so far. Overall, this bodes well for America’s future and our fight to rid ourselves of Trumpism, but we gotta keep it all in perspective.
If they win they’ll end anything resembling fair election processes going forward. We’re in an all or nothing scenario from here until forever unless the right backs down from trumpism
True but this bodes well for Democrats in 2024 and may well be the end for Trump. Had the Republican red wave appeared, democracy would be in a world of hurt.
@@ashvandal5697 The election deniers are getting smoked, so it’s not going to be a net positive for republicans to continue pushing the big lie. Also Biden is there with his veto. All in all I’m happy with the outcome based simply on the election deniers being rejected. Hopefully now we can refocus on legislation rather than putting out all these Trump fires.
@@Golf05 Exactly. I don’t think we know just how big of a bullet we dodged. I’ve been worried sick for the last two years, so I’m flying high right now. It’s such a relief. Americans always end up doing the right thing after we’ve exhausted all other options.

Not having a huge red wave is indeed a relief. However that doesn’t mean we had a huge blue wave either. America still hangs in the balance of a struggle and I maintain that republicans will still grind democracy into the dust, a little here, a little there, as they’ve done for decades. It’s not over.
And that’s assuming everything stays civil and we don’t start seeing real political violence.
I woke up with hope, god knows the craziness was worrisome.
How can we miss Trump if he refuses to go away.
