I love that you put the word "ethnicities" in the title and not "race". Since we all (homo sapiens sapiens) are only one race. Other human races are already extinct (like neanderthals etc.).

Janelle your top result coming up as East Frisian in the Germanic Europe section is probably why your mom looked so typically "german".
East Frisia borders the Netherlands, and Frisians are an ethnic minority group in Germany. They've been on that coast for a loooong time haha.
Min I've seen a few videos like this now, and I've never seen someone in East Asia get this close to 100% something before, so congrats? xD
It is possible you have some ancestry from other regions as well, but that you didn't inherit any from the recombination.
I've found 23andme helpful for people that are mostly from one region, or for people of Asian descent, because it breaks it down to 0.1% with a confidence slider. (Get it on sale tho)

Me and Min actually looked up at area as we were very interested and didn’t know about it. And yea many people have told us Mins Gould take another test, I think in the future we will try 23andme, but currently it doesn’t ship to Korea 😔 so it’s a bit difficult atm.

This is so bizarre your video is literally a day after my birthday and I did the DNA results or DNA test I shipped mine off on Monday which was November 21st so I have to wait about 3 weeks I guess oh how long however long it takes I'm really excited because I come from a broken family a broken history as well I don't know my grandmother or grandfather I don't know my great-grandfather or great grandmother my father's side..and I can't go by what people guess anymore I mean I know that I'm black but there's some other stuff in there too I guess we'll find out.. I mean I know I'm also an alien 👾👽 I just need to know from what planet exactly.

Actually if you add up all “white” and “black” ethnicities it’s exactly 50% - 50% 😅

I feel for min hahaha, my sister got 100% Chinese on 23&me. My other sister and myself tested on my heritage she got 98% Chinese and I got 95% but my heritage ethnicity estimate is pretty old technology. Which is kinda why I wanna do ancestry dna, I want to see if the 4% Japanese/Korean or the 1.5% Scandinavian is true. I've uploaded to other sites a lot of them attributing a small percentage to Korean, none of them showing any Caucasian. Honestly im just holding on to straws here that I'm not full chinese

You guys should try 23andMe DNA 🧬 Test, so you know about your Family Health History and 23andMe can go way back in the Past to, my Friends.
Maybe we will do it~ the tests are expensive just to tell us kind of the same info again 😅 thanks for the recommendation!
Oh also, 23andMe doesn’t ship to Korea~ which is one reason we didn’t use them ^^!

Great video and loved your DNA results! You two are so cute. I am biracial, my mother was from South Korea and my father was mostly Scots-Irish (Scottish) and German descent that settled in Virginia and North Carolina in the 1700's. I did an Ancestry DNA and my results are:
50% Korea ("South Korea" community)
29% Scotland
9% Wales
8% Sweden & Denmark
3% Germanic Europe
1% Eastern Europe & Russia
As for the communities I gotten:
*Delaware Valley, Chesapeake & Midwest Settlers
*North Carolina Settlers

I'm honestly surprised that Min doesn't have any Japanese considering Korea's history w/Japan and almost every Korean ( most of the Korean's I've seen take the test were Korean-Americans or like 1st generation Korean-American) that I've ever seen take the test had at least a small percentage of both Chinese & Japanese; so it's pretty dope to know that your ancestors most likely were not taken by the Japanese back in the day ( I didn't want to get too graphic with that statement, so I hope u all understood what I was trying to say).

Oh please...The Yayoi people mostly came from Korean Peninsula, so Korean people share the same DNA with Japanese a lot.
You might be surprised to know that Manchurians, Koreans, Japaneses, and some North Chineses share DNA each other. It doesn't mean they're not Koreans because these people were originally divided from Haplogroup K.

Just to let you know, these dna test are not necessarily catered for asian populations. These dna tests do not necessarily have bigger dna data for asians to give definitive dna breakdown.
It is often said and below that koreans will have 100% dna because of their country’s past history of being occupied by other nations. They even go on to say that it is highly unlikely for any koreans to have 50% korean dna.
It is therefore better for asian to do dna test from the asian country. I have seen some korean celebrities do dna test from korea called “you who”. So may be he can try that dna kit to get a better breakdown of his dna.
So we have heard, but we have seen those who take the Korean version get higher than 50%, so I wouldn’t said it’s unlikely, also we have seen Korean take ancestry and gotten on 60% Korean and the rest Chinese / Japanese. So we will never know really, but maybe in the future he can take it and compare.

Have Min test his parents and grandparents… he only got 1/2 of their DNA. Theoretically his parents could have been 51% non-Korean and just combined their Korean to make him 98%. It’s called recombination I think.
Never heard of only selective dna coming together… then if two half black and half white parents have a kid then could test as 100% white 🧐🧐🧐
that would mean Min only got the Korean DNA and is thus truly 98% Korea ? Testing his parents would just show what his parents are, not Min, correct?

I’m late to this one, which would cleared up my assumption that you might be Hispanic. Basically no DNA from Spain😂. By the way I think the smaller European percentages are from your dad. Most of us ‘Americans’ (north, south, Caribbean) are colonial cocktails, that’s for sure.
Oh I would guess the smaller would be from my mom… My mom is white and dad is black, so the percentages actually had up to be 50/50

What do you mean you have no Hispanic-ness in you? Most hispanic people from Latin America are mixed with European, african and native. If you compare some Puerto Rican or Dominican results to yours you may find similarities

I think some people say hispanic isn't a race, I'd agree with them. Even though race is sort of... not scientific. But basically it'ss similar to America in that european (white people) came from spain, black people were taken from africa to there, and then there were the natives.
You can be white and hispanic, black and hispanic, or native and hispanic - same way you can be white and american, black and american, native American, etc. and by american I mean USA not the continent 😄

Being pure is awesome, you really belong somewhere that has a rich cultural heritage. Mixed race people have to live where everyone is mixed or they will not fit in. You don't get the culture or history in that situation.
