    Don't understand why people keep refering to white boys or non-Maoris on these Haka videos, the Haka is taught at school and embraced by most. The colour of your skin is irrelevant- The power of the Haka comes from within.

      Right? I can’t wait until people will finally see past skin color for a change, although we’ll all be dead by the time that happens

      A lot of them aren't even from NZ I'm p sure 🗿 It's like they've never heard of a country attempting to connect with its native people and respect them....oh wait-

    • @jam9227
      @jam9227 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree, but I think they don’t have the same connection to the haka as the Māori do, because they have been doing that for centuries, before wars etc, whereas the white people (Europeans) are doing it to respect their culture. No hate to them doing it tho, I’m really happy they like practising Māori culture. I’m Māori myself!

    People just don’t understand the culture. It about the power and the love. It doesn’t matter if the effort is bad as long as it’s done as one. A talk from an Islander 🤙🏾

    I am appalled at the racist comments. First and foremost the Haka is sacred to every NZDER..black or white. As children we are taught to embrace our native language and are taught Te reo from a young age. As we grow older we make our own choices whether to pursue further studies in Te Reo. This is not only for Maori it is FOR ALL NEW ZEALANDERS. It is our reality, it is our norm. Just because your seeing white and black together embracing our native culture now it does not mean it's new...YOU TUBE IS NEW NOT NZ WAYS.

The reason as to why it’s so intense is because it’s a war cry our ancestors used to do during the war but it’s like it also connects us to our culture & our family before us, it shows respect & honour which is why it’s done at all types of events. I love my people, my culture & my country.

    may i please get the lyrics to this, wish this tribe mentality was practiced in the states. I am definitely going to new zealand . thank you for the coaches who still instill this in your warrior culture.

      Why? All HUMANS are BADASS and worthy of respect. STOP making certain groups worthy of respect or special status otherwise you become just as creepy and shitty as SOME (certainly not all) old white anglo-saxon men of caucasian race. Yes the Navajo rugs are just as precious as those of Turkic or Slavic mountain peoples. Those fierce tribal dances are just as impressive as those of EVERY other culture across the GLOBE. Disclaimer: I am SLAVIC. This is not European or Anglo-Saxon white. I am not even pink skinned but rather olive skinned like the rest of my mountain clan people from the Carpathian mountains. So suck on that you assumption making, reductionist, native people idolizers.
