    i feel the one of the most admirable things about the haka and all the videos i've watched is the psychology of confidence and expression. i mean im sad that in the us kids and adults feel awkward and self conscious doing a haka or would if they did. even in some of the reaction videos they kind a laugh cause they dont understand and cant imagine themselves doing it and think they would feel silly instead of feeling like they would be sending a message and expressing themselves. i really think that mindset is powerful and very healthy. we live life and life is passion and expression. if you cant live with passion and express it then you're missing something. makes me want to raise my kids in New Zealand just for that.

    Living on the opposite of the world, pretty much as far away from NZ as possible, I've only had the honour to experience a Haka in real life once - performed by a group of Māori people visiting a group of Sámi people. It was very touching, and simply beautiful - and it is amazing to see an entire school coming together like this. The Sámi response was a Joik, very different in expression but similar in meaning and significance. Stay strong!

    Apart from the intensity of the Haka and the subsequent response, this video scares me.
    As a Brit and former player, this snippet of a schoolboy match shows just how far ahead these two teams are ahead when compared the British "schoolboy" game. I believe that all four of the UK international teams will struggle to challenge the NZ game for the foreseeable future. Not only that, we'll struggle beat the southern hemisphere teams in international competition for the next 10 years or so unless we go back to basics. It'll come back to a point where we'll we'll only score points from kicking penalties.
    Good to see the game been played with the passion and physicality that it was meant to be at.

    All this BS is what is killing off schoolboy rugby in nz. The elite schools poach all the best players and the rest simply can't compete so they are increasingly not bothering to field rugby teams. The elites don't seem to care if they become the best by killing off all their competition. There is no club alternatives either so kids going into high school either play for their school or give up (because there are no teams). The school I went to in the 90's usually fielded 6 or 7 rugby teams. we were rarely in the top division but we were competitive om our grade and several player went on to play professionally and internationally. the same school now only has 1 team

    • @lex6798
      @lex6798 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe cus this competition can’t handle 6 or 7 teams of each school in the tournament and plus the schools all don’t have enough money to handle six or seven teams playing at once
