I could not believe how many low mileage nice bikes were available used in like new condition at my local dealer.... a great way to go and like you said Jerry if you paid for the mods it would cost a lot more on a new bike...
Lovely bike, but I'm with the other commenters who've no doubt already pointed out that $26k is still exorbitant in today's market, and that's putting things mildly. With Harley's decision not to sell their new middle-weights on the American market and their discontinuation of the 883, the brand will remain untouchable to those of us who aren't rolling in dough or comfortably retired. It's a genuine shame.
@@motorman857 - Fair enough, and thanks for the response. I should've more heavily emphasized the financial issue with Harley's in general. Yes, you can get a used Harley with (relatively) low mileage at a price that isn't totally bonkers in that segment, but the fact remains that Harley isn't a brand that's friendly to non-affluent riders. They do hold their value, and they're certainly wonderful machines, but the bang-for-the-buck just isn't there. I'd love to have a Harley in my garage, but it's difficult to justify what I'd likely be spending, and I'm a 31 year old middle-class dude without a family. Because they'll cost even more than they already do. I've owned over 20 new Harley's and never found a reason to upgrade anything on them. You can buy any H.D. touring bike and right out of the showroom they are ready for a cross country trip. Many people simply like to personalize their bikes and every accessory you could want is available.
@@altec19 Yes. I considered buying a Indian Vintage. But only after they started putting the Vintage on the same frame as the Springfield in 2021. Prior to that, the Vintage had a very long wheelbase and rake. In 2021 they got it right and then stopped making it. What kept me from buying was the nearest dealer is 65 miles away and they don't pick up and return the bike when service is needed as Harley does.
Price of insurance for test rides has caught up with some dealers. I was just at a HD dealer in NE Maryland, given the $1,000,000 + anual premimum per dealership, the owner has three, no test rides even on used bikes.
