This is a perfect example that we all need to be humbled by. Sometimes just one decision can change your life and you go from everything you wanted to being alone in facilities that this used to be. As bad as you think you have it, it can always be worse and usually there is somebody living your worst already. Do not take things for granted, don't say it will never happen to me. The man at the end knows his life should not have ended the way it did. For a while he lived the dream only to focus on his new dream was having glasses, a place to sleep, food to eat and his teeth fixed. No matter what he had lost, he was still appreciative of what he had. Dont ever think you're better than someone else just because you have better things than they do, one day you may not have it either.

Why did he say it's in up state New York, when it's in southern New York? New York City is in southern New York.

Upstate is relative to where in NY you are. In Long Island they think anything north of the Bronx is upstate .

@epe1238 Why? It's obvious New York City, Long Island and Bronx are in the southern part of the state. That doesn't make any sense.

@@garybarnett7284 IDK. I live 5 minutes from where this was filmed. I also lived in Buffalo which is western NY. To me upstate is well north of Albany.

Fix the fixable buildings. Make them into AFFORDABLE housing! But they won’t. Where are the jobs, the businesses, the schools, etc. If they do anything with the property it will be expensive condos for wealthy who drive nice cars, work remotely, etc.

It's all about personal responsibility. Make bad choices end up in bad situations. If these people were marginalized they would have been still on the streets of New York. No one is entitled to charity. People took an abandoned womans prison and did what they could.
