    5:50 is when the build itself starts.
    *BEFORE YOU COMMENT BELOW, CONSIDER THIS FAQ*
    *Where can you buy this kit? Link for the [Insert single part here]? Where can I find parts?*
    Google search "Honda GX200 Electric Start Kit", below I have linked some results
    www.ombwarehouse.com/electric-start-kit-gx200-and-196cc-clone-aftermarket-replacement.html
    www.amazon.com/Electric-Flywheel-Starter-Switch-Ignition/dp/B07VF4Y25Q
    www.ebay.com/p/1562997975
    *For HEMI* www.vpowerequipment.com/predator-212cc-electric-start-kit-60363/
    *Can this work for a **____*
    This tutorial is designed specifically for the Predator 212, Honda GX160/200, and similar clones. If you have a different engine, it' is high chances that it will, but assembly will be different. Otherwise: *No*.
    *Will this work for a HEMI Predator 212*
    Refer to the question above, BUT, there are kits out there made for a hemi.
    *What [sized] battery should I use?*
    This kit is wired for 12 volts, and the starter box comes with a 10amp fuse. I currently run a 12v 8.5aH battery and it starts just fine.
    *Is a battery needed?*
    If you don't want the electric start, no.
    *Does the coil(s) charge the battery?*
    Yes. Idle is at about 12.5 volts. Under running RPM's in a governed 212 it's >= 13V

    *IMPORTANT: It would be highly recommended to use a thread locker on the internal bolts for the coil and solenoid.* Unfortunately, after doing a ride for an hour, one of the bolts holding the starter loosened and ejected out of the engine, causing the cast aluminum piece to crack, and misaligned the gears when starting. Pull starting is okay, but not electric start. The bolts were tightened snug shown in the video.
    PS. *THANK YOU FOR 70,000 VIEWS. LETS GET TO 100,000???* Much love!

    Just found this video while doing a google search, as I have a predator 212cc motor on my little duck hunting boat. It can be a nightmare to pull start when its cold out hunting in the fall.....Great video, and Ill be referencing it once I get my kit!

      It “should” be, yes. It was the link on my gift wish list when my dad got it. If you can find a kit cheaper for a Honda GX200 clone elsewhere that will also work too, long as it’s for a non hemi motor (aka the flywheel bore isn’t tapered)

    What type of battery did you use? And what size wire for the battery leads?

    • @NiTecIndustries
      @NiTecIndustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the kit it comes with a starter motor that "in theory" didn't need much to start it. I first used a 12V 5 aH 70 CCA battery and it would start on a full charge, but nothing more beyond that.
      I had to replace the starter motor after the cast aluminum chipped on the mounting holes. After doing that, the battery was weak and could not start. I would recommend using a battery that is *12V, 8aH, 120CCA*. Wouldn't want to get a battery that would blow the 10-Amp fuse on the switch box.
      As far as wiring goes I either have 14 or 16 gauge wire.

    • @NiTecIndustries
      @NiTecIndustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The wire coming from the charging coils does not need to connect to the battery; it is its own power source. The switch box from this kit provides a voltage regulator via the one way diode. Perhaps when you ground the light down to the frame, and the battery grounds to the frame, then it will charge? But you don't need a regulator I dont think.

    • @NiTecIndustries

      If I am understanding this correctly, you are still wanting to do a pull start, but have a key-switch at the front of your project?
      If that is the case, you only need a two-wire setup. I have done this with a key toggle switch in the episode where I install the drum brake. @NiTecIndustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! Despite that I am not running with a Torque-A-Verter, but I went outside just now to check. It looks like the starter's face facing the shaft is coincident with the clutch side of the engine block. It looks like it does protrude past just by a cm or two, so it is possible you will have to do some trimming on your CVT plate.

My best advice would be to find either a manufactured billet flywheel with a ring gear pre-attached that can take the load of the ghost, or take that flywheel on the ghost to see if they can take a ring gear and press fit it on the flywheel.

      AUSTIN ROBERTS No need to pull the cylinder head off. Check the valve cover. If it’s a shiny zinc, non-hemi. If it’s a cast iron, and it’s square with beveled edges, it’s a hemi. I also believe that hemi’s have tapered shaft, and therefore won’t be compatible with the flywheel provided in the kit.

    Will this work on a Hemi engine

    • @NiTecIndustries

    Thank you for the detailed video! I just did mine but it seems to take a few tries before the engine starts. Battery is brandnew with 180 CCC so no problem there. • @NiTecIndustries
      @NiTecIndustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mary H If you meant the gears on the flywheel they should? Does it crank up like mine did in the video? Something must be weak or there’s something internally causing friction with the engine.

      @@NiTecIndustries Ok I went over it last night. I double check the flywheel is as far in as possible. The gear on the starter is not engaging with the gear of the flywheel until you turn the key...then it pops out and engaged the flywheel gear and pop back when you release the key. Kinda makes sense because you wouldn't want the starter gear to keep spinning when the engine is running...right?
      I checked the spacing of my ignition coil and looks like one end is slightly out too far so I readjusted it to proper spacing of a business card thickness...guess what it seems to start easier now!
      Also on the side note..I'm not sure what size wire for the battery I supposed to use but I justr use some spare wire I have in the garage...I think maybe 12 gauge? Is that thick enough wire to connect to the battery and starter?

    • @NiTecIndustries
      @NiTecIndustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mary H The ignition coil having that gap then meant the spark plug wasn’t getting the proper spark in the combustion chamber-causing the poor starting quality. Your electricals are working just fine. 14 gauge would be better wire. I don’t recall if it’s either 12 or 16 gauge that’s thicker, but 14 is common.

    Can you put double coils if wanted

    • @NiTecIndustries
      @NiTecIndustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In a short answer. Yes, in theory. My kit did not come with two, but the predator does have a bolt circle that allows for two coils to be mounted. You only need one to plug into the wiring of the switch box, so the second could be used to power a front headlamp for instance.
