Been following Cobras for 40 years. Best looking hardtop I ever saw. I Like it. If You have never driven a Cobra then you will appreciate the top. They are a pain in the ass to drive in weather.

Heat soak, yank V8's are really bad for it, especially when in a small engine bay like the Cobra, i had the same issue with my Firebird (which already had a huge Iveco van battery), cured it with a high torque mini starter.

@@unclesamthejew8740 Wanted to mount the battery in the boot (trunk), wanted a battery with the most cranking amps, biggest one i could find in the local parts store (Halfords) was an Iveco van battery, the heat soak issue was a teething problem when i first got the car on the road, despite having a reconditioned starter the previous owner fitted the car would start fine cold but had trouble hot (sometimes i had to leave it a while till it cooled down), fitted a high torque mini starter (Powermaster) bought from Real Steel here in the UK, no starting issues at all after that.
I was going to mention the E-Type, and I think you're wrong. The cobra and E-Type are two of the most ugliest cars ever built., right next to my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire.

I was caught out, spent most of it admiring the lack of fighting, swearing or queue jumping on the forecourt. Those were the days. Car’s good too mind.
LOL he has the same problem i have with mine: when the startermotor gets hot when you stop i.e at a tankstop, it barely spins... well-known problem. If you put a thin insulationshield between it, it helps... a bit...
The first time I saw an AC was amazing. Longer rear than this beauty. I think it might have been an ace. Wasn't nice and clean like this one. Looked as if it had been driven hard, through a field. It shook about at idle and had a beautiful rumble. The smell and heat from it was something else.
had a friend whos dad made replicas here in the uk in stoke you would go around his house and find fiberglass body shells and massive V8 engines in the garage he had a license to use molds made from the original body molds he told me once he has to give people track training with the car before letting them drive it on the road because of the number of people that would floor it the second they got on a dual carriageway and lose the back end and end up wrapped around a tree

High compression engines will do that if you have a low amperage rating battery or weak battery. He will burn up his starter if he doesn’t fix that.

Search for Dave Brookes UK cobra builder from Stoke England. I think its one of his.
That is not a DB hardtop, its the Dax hardtop, subtly different to Dave Brookes' product. Available from Dax cars.
