An incredible song from the best damn band in the world!! I think it's time this band is given a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement award...no questions asked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who has been together close to 50 years doing gigs all over the world playing the quality of music TOP delivers every gig! God Bless you boys!
I saw Tower of Power in a decrepit third-rate theater in, of all places, Grants Pass Oregon. They still played the shit out of that place, blowing the rooftop off! Here's a band that at one time commanded large arenas, had all the stardom and hit records, but down to basics are just one hell of a band!
The AMAZING thing about this band is that even after 50 years of player they still manage to create genuine magic and chemistry that is mind-blowing. And they never seem like they are there for the paycheck but for the music instead. With the heavy touring they do, that in itself is a hard thing to do night after night. And with all the terrific singers they have it's hard to pick a favorite. but Larry Bragg is just a master!
Outstanding !! This is a great group of musicians. I've followed TOP since the very beginning and have all their recordings. As far as I'm concerned " As surely as I stand here" is one of their greatest arrangements. Wow !!!
Tom E. Politzer is the best, Great guy. Adolfo and him came to my son's high school and performed with our jazz ensemble! Worked with the kids all day then performed a free concert that night! Truly inspiring ...solo after solo.
Im gutted. Im 22 and have seen them twice. Its difficult because they dont come over here to uk muvh now. I saw them earlier in march and they were great but understandably tired. However when they came over in 09 at o2 matter, they were on fire best gig i have ever witnessed. I pray i see them like that again. Dont matter how old they are. Absolute killer band. Anyone at that gig will back me up. Cheers
This band is amazing! Larry Braggs now has been the lead vocalist for T.O.P. longer than any other singer in the band's history. He was simply *born* to sing in this group. Was present at one of the band's sound checks before the show and Larry was warming up his voice by singing freakin' OPERA! That just blew me away!
I've interviewed Emilio a few times over the past couple of years and I have to say he's a great guy! The stories he shared with me were very open and honest about the things the band has been through over the years. By far my favorite band of all time!
Agree, Braggs is really putting his signature on this. I think this is right up there with "Still a Young Man" and So Very Hard to Go" as far as great TOP ballads go. Extremely sophisticated arrangment and Sparks is working that B-3 for everything it has. Gets no better than this!
My gosh just to make it through this song without hiccups, all the accents alone would be enough to cause regular players a nervous breakdown.. love me someT-O-P
Alex Murray , you know I will always love and respect TOP fans of every perspective, but uhhh... Larry is great, truly well matched to the band, but The Man is Lenny Williams. But really, isn't this an absolutely FABULOUS dilemma to have? 😊 Respect to Rick, Hubert and even My Main Man Mimi! 🎶
The best version of that song is on their 40th anniversary DVD live concert if you think Larry kills the song on this version check out the 40th anniversary he super kills it
A staggeringly great band...great tunes...great everything. But if you like this - or Tower of Power, period - check out their 40th Anniversary DVD. I saw them live in London a few weeks back, then watched the DVD when I got home. Stunning stuff. And - especially with all the special guests on the DVD and Larry Braggs truly nailing it - it is better than this. And that says a lot!
theres nothing to be said with TOP... their music their image their and their CONSISTANCY!!! through Lenny Williams, Bruce Conte, David Garibaldi, and CT Chester Thompson. leaving the band induvidually for different periods of the TOP career, they have always kept the TOP sound through all the departures and returns. just shows how strong the foundation and core that is TOP. as for me im an 18 yr old fan that i will carry their music through my children 1 day. Tower of Power feREVer!
I've been a supporter of this band since 1968, when I first heard them. I was between Jr. High and High School. I live in Denver CO. I try not to miss them, I've seen them in Las Vegas also. Even some of the "Not so good alege singers TOP had of the years, Never Ruins the Great Consistent sound they produce. I've spoken briefly to Elmilo, what a great guy, bandleader, but what Soul, he produces consistently. He plays JB tunes like he is a twin. Yea, I like some EWF, AWB, but TOP is the shit. They are BAD ASS FOREVER! GMC😎
Larry Braggs should have stayed with Tower Of Power bc he was a perfect fit just like Lenny Williams, but sometimes you do have to spread your wings 💞 . I hope everyone all. Best
One of T.O.P’s greatest masterpiece’s!
One of my favorites because of Larry's impeccable talent
This is the best version in my opinion , everything sounds perfect here and Larry KILLS IT

AMEN, God's gift to us for all them years.
In my opinion their best all around song.
Mega DITTO!! Saw them last week and they are better than ever!

How many grammys have Tower of Power won? With all their outstanding talent?
My favourite Tower of Power song, and my favourite love song. This band is simply outstanding, and LB on vocals is awesome.

One of the best horn arrangements they have!!
Larry Braggs outright owns this tune! Awsome!

i get goosebumps and almost start crying. This is what happens when you put your soul into the music
All the pieces fit perfectly!
Quite possibly the best version TOP has ever laid down.
Tom E. Politzer is the best, Great guy. Adolfo and him came to my son's high school and performed with our jazz ensemble! Worked with the kids all day then performed a free concert that night! Truly inspiring ...solo after solo.
That doggone Larry Braggs is one of the best vocalists of this generation !!! TOP remains the BEST!!!
I have played this song over and over again since Saturday as well as the song " I'm willing to learn" more than 500 x
Good lord, I haven't heard this song in years. Larry Bragg is really growing on me as a wonderful singer for TOP.
Im gutted. Im 22 and have seen them twice. Its difficult because they dont come over here to uk muvh now. I saw them earlier in march and they were great but understandably tired. Love this song and the band and Larry!
I've interviewed Emilio a few times over the past couple of years and I have to say he's a great guy! The stories he shared with me were very open and honest about the things the band has been through over the years. By far my favorite band of all time!
GREAT song and FANTASTIC performance.
Larry had a cold and he was still killin' it. That's Snarky Puppy's Bobby Sparks on the organ filling in for Roger.
Looks like Larry had a cold and was coughing but he still KILLED IT! Pound for pound the baddest cat in the land!

this group has always been a 'super group' in my opinion!!
Larry Braggs is sooooo suited for TOP! And Tom Polizer is truly AMAZING!!!!
Larry's song!
It will take a lot to ever beat Larry Braggs!...i believe he was and always will be their best!
Alex Murray , you know I will always love and respect TOP fans of every perspective, but uhhh... Larry is great, truly well matched to the band, but The Man is Lenny Williams.

Respect to Rick, Hubert and even My Main Man Mimi! 🎶
This band is so incredibly "in the pocket". It's truly amazing.
@DACjunior34 well-stated my young friend-God bless you for appreciating great music!! they are good people too!

This guy (Larry B ) is in my opinion the most talented lead vocalist TOP has ever had.
👍 yes, can Tower of Power find a replacement for a lead singer as Larry Bragg to continue recording with at that level of sound ?
one of the finest examples from the Greg Adams arrangement book
Larry Bragg and Tome E Politzer... got this thing down
Such s beautiful song
The Funky Doctor will make ya feel good no matter what !!!
True that!
assurely as i stand here
I can't stop myself...,,, today's music sucks so hard. Never thought the 70's would be the decade of choice, but it was the golden age.
STILL TOPS!!!!!! Sweet ear candy 4sur
The Best

In my opinion, he has been their best lead singer.

best song top after ysaym...
Hubert Tubbs did a killer version.
Audio could be louder...
Larry Braggs outright owns this tune! Awesome!
Chester Thomson who wrote the song said that Larry Braggs singing this song was the best out of all the singers who did it and I agree 100 percent.
