Packtoter love your share, been hiking the Superior Hiking trail by sections over the years and have found it the rockiest, root choked, shale slide of all my hiking, thanks for concurring
I’m going to do a section from Hot Springs NC to Damascus VA on the AT. You inspired me to drive up and do a week on the SHT as a shakedown cruise. Great video.
@@raylenihan6158 I think it's cooling down a bit, but you never know about August. I've had 90+ on I ISLE ROYALE in August. Have a great trip. Keep Smilin'
There’s water 0.3 miles north of Hazel. During such a wet year, it should have been flowing. Maybe they rerouted the trail since I’ve been there. I have a good memory for things like campsites and water sources, but tend to forget the roadwalks. You are dedicated to your videos. That was a lot of work back and forth on those rocks to capture that beach walk.
@andymytys Probably missed that water crossing. I tend to keep walking until dark, so I wasn't that committed to Hazel. Figured I had missed something because all the other sites were near a water source. It all worked out. Haven't died from dehydration yet. Keep Smilin'
You can wild camp in Minnesota as long as you are off the trail a bit. It is perfectly legal, at least in State Park areas. Check the DNR regulations for more specifics
@Archie-td6ox I just buy Columbia Silver Ridge cargo pants without the zip-off legs on Amazon. They dry very quickly. I used to by Supplex, but these are cheaper and just as efficient.

@user-ul5yu5hk9k That's easy if you're a thimbleberry bush. Thanks for the info. Keep Smilin'
What pants are you wearing, and where did you get them? They look like quick drying , light weight. All I wear day to day are cargos

Indian pipe is used to make a tincture for pain relief.
@@berniesbend Might be a good skill on the trail learning how to make that tincture. Thanks for commenting. Keep Smilin'
What ingredients/brands are you using for your beans and rice?
Mexically Rose refried beans, Knorr sides rice mixes, Emergency Essentials freeze dried shredded cheese, Fritos, sometimes freeze dried chicken or beef. Keep Smilin'
