The best (safest for plants) is “Wet & Forget” from Lowe’s. I use it here in Louisiana on my north side of house. It is very efficient & effective (make sure follow directions, stronger is not better”) spray on siding dry and you know it will not rain for a day or two. Product drys on siding and each time it rains, re-actives. I have found it last 9-12 months. It also “safe” for plants and humans. Give it try, it works and you will love it. “Wet & Forget it”.
That will work. We tried something like that once and the smell lingered causing my wife to have breathing issues. Chlorine outgasses in a couple minutes and doesn’t make my wife sick. She has chemical sensitivity syndrome and Sjogrens so chemical oddors thay linger make her very sick. We actually have to use speecial laundry detergents and cleaning products. Thanks for watching.
What a difference!👌🏼 Dealing with siding, cleaning or painting, is quite the job. The toughest for us was getting ends that we're raising up nailed back down. I bet you are glad that job is done. 😊👏🏼 Have a great week.
Good morning 🌅, URHC, I hope you are both keeping safe and well, nice job, It’s getting hotter here today, 10/11 31dg later in the day 37 + Dg . I spent a Hr + striming , around my bridge that goes into my garden, i’m part of the embankment going down to the river , It just gets very badly overgrown with stinging nettles and brambles , I’ve got to do it early in the morning or late at night , otherwise I get cooked by the Sun , that is me gone for the day, and you’ve reminded me that I need to do my caravan that’s in the garden, that is very bad with green algae growing all over it, I need to clean it up and sell it, I brought it back in 2013 to live in whilst I/we X, lived in it for the first two or three years when we first started restoring converting the mill/moulin . Hope you have a great week don’t work too hard., France.
Great video. I use a product called JoMax, found at Home Depot. You mix it, bleach and water in the specified amount and spray it on your siding. It does an excellent job in cleaning the siding without scrubbing, and in my experience, there is something in the mixture that causes spider webs to lose their connectivitity to the siding and be washed off with a garden hose. The no scrubbing feature is really important to me since I live in a split level with areas of my siding 25 to 30 feet off the ground.
There definitely are many different products made to do this. My spiders all live behind the shutters. Must be good eating back there. No scrubbing makes it sound too easy. Thanks for watching.
We get mostly algae. I've always done mine with the same brush you used for the screens but I like your long brush way better. We get crap on the side of the house and windows too. It's almost like the birds are aiming on the fly. We've always used a house wash product but I like your bleach and Dawn idea better. Off topic and you probably know this or something better-have you ever tried Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish? We got some for DH's headlight lenses and I was blown away but how clear it got them with just a few minutes of work. Most products require several steps, this was five minutes with a dry cloth and the difference was dramatic. It doesn't do anything for chips of course but the haze is gone. Haven't needed it for metal yet. You may not need it or already have a product you use but I like to share with you to give back for all I've learned from you. We're close to the same age but you remind me of my dad and uncles who seemed to know everything.
It was way overdue. I really like that brush set from Costco. Most other poles thatlongare very flimsy. We have birds that can crap through screens and hit the windows. I used that polish on our pontoon boat to clean it up when we first got it. Used Starbrite acid wash first and then polished with the mothers. It came out nice but was a nasty job with everything getting black from the oxidation it removed. My hands were black for a month. It is good stuff but very expensive to do something big. Thanks for watching.
Our store just had them on clearance with the death star so its probably too late to get them now. Check your store as it's a seasonal item. Thanks for watching.
That's a good thing. The hose water scared it but I see its back this morning. We also have tree swallows that are doing a good job with bugs. Thanks for watching.
I've had good luck on my house with just dish soap and water. I've done it with bleach too and found that it didn't make a different in terms of how long it took the mildew to come back.
Your just a young kid. I felt terrible and didn't feel like doing it yesterday. Today I have a high fever congestion, body aches, and headache. Tested positive for covid and glad I got that done now. Looks like a week off.
I do much the same thing except I add dawn soap. No scrubbing necessary for me at least. I clean the every other year. I use dollar general bleach nothing special.
I use windshield wiper fluid for my windows. Your siding looks great!
Thats a great tip. It's definitely faded but has held up great. Thanks for watching.

It's always easy to tell north by looking for mold. We are very hot now with high humidity again. Can't wait for fall. Thanks for watching.
I am going to try that on my siding! Thank you!
Be sure to try a small test area first. It sure makes a big difference. Thanks for watching.
Great job. That's exactly what I need to do. Thanks. Love your videos, your place always looks great!
Always something to do when you own a house. I am so far behind on everything right now. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I hear ya. Job security.

I need to do the north end of my house too.
This was way overdue. luckily its a one story ranch. Thanks for watching.

Sir, can you possibly provide the Costco model number for the window cleaner pole and squeegee? Thank you.

Bats on the North side of the house Yup, got some that are on the North side of my eave vents every year, here in Taxachusetts, I never bother them.

I haven't tried that. Thought chlorine would kill the mold better. Thanks for watching.
The chlorine bleach/water solution has worked great for me in the past.
Its the cheapest cleaner that works good. Thanks for watching
Try D2… it’s for cleaning headstones. Manufacture claims it’s good for vinyl, too.
I have tried others and prefer the chlorine that also has many other uses around the house. Thanks for watching.
Here in NC mold is so bad. I have to spray monthly.
Wow that would be hard to keep up with. Chlorine will usually keep the mold away for 2 years up here. Thanks for watching.
My siding is terrible right now and I have to do this. I am not looking forward to it.
It's no fun but makes the wife happy. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 The older I got, the lazy. I get taken care of the outside of the house. LOL

I don't like leaving the chlorine on long so always use a brush right after it goes on. Thanks for watching.
