@@firefighterTomg The predator/bigwater is an awesome kayak. Hi Butch! Thanks for checking out the channel. IMO, both models are great. Very similar layout besides the 18" difference in length. I net my fish on the right side. For whatever reason, it’s comfortable for me that way. I stand a lot. I’m 6’2” and I’m a big dude too. absolutely no issues.
@Wanna Fish All Day - You stated you were a tall person and noticed your seat was set 7 slots back. I am 6'5 and am trying to setup a new Sportsman 120 pdl. I was curious how my setup would like up with yours. I have a 36 inch pants length. Would you mind sharing your height? I don't really wanna try getting on the water in the winter... lol
Hey Adam, thanks for your comment. I’m 6’2 and I’m constantly moving my seat forward and back depending on the conditions and how I’m fishing. If I’m fishing standing mostly then I’ll move my seat as far back as possible for a more open deck. If I’m on the move a lot, then I’ll have it more forward. However, for your height, there’s still plenty of room. A good rule of thumb for me is to extend it back just far enough so there is a slight bend in my knees when pedaling to avoid injury from locking out my knees. Also, when I have my daughter in the rear storage well, I’ll have it as far forward as maybe 3-4 notches back, albeit not the most comfortable position. Hope this helps.. Cheers!
Do you tend to get a lot of water in the boat around your feet/legs? Really want a pedal kayak for photography as paddling is a huge PITA while running a camera and trying to station keep. But i dont my my expensive gear sitting in a puddle.
Not a lot but it’s a kayak so there will be water in it at times. Never a puddle bc of the scupper holes. They drain fairly quickly. You could also get the one way scupper valves that keep water from coming up but also drain out.
@@WannaFishAllDay true on the plugs. I have a Jackson Killroy DT currently and it's just to much for a single person to man handle in and out of the truck. Prop drive would be a dream come true for Videography lol
If you’re asking if you can convert it to an autopilot or MK, the answer is no. I added a bixpy motor to the stern and have plans to add a bow mounted xi3 this winter.
At first I would only heat the strip of kydex away from the yak and then place the heated strip on the kayak to shape. You’ll have to do this a few times to get it about 95% right. The last 5% I would heat it on the kayak but at low heat to ensure I don’t warp the kayak. Just be patient with it.
And try to direct the heat on the kydex piece and not directly on the kayak as much as possible. The kydex will reach a point where it will soften and that’s when you know it’s heated enough to shape.
Awesome! They are a lifesaver having to change your prop on the water. I like the fact you don’t need any tools! Would kindly ask you to subscribe as I have more mod vids in store. Cheers!
I’m 6’2” and I don’t put the seat all the way back. Still have 3-4 notches I can go back. I would imagine you’d be fine but definitely recommend testing one out.
Until you actually have a good fin drive kayak you won't know what you're missing... I have both and I use my fin drive 95% of the time . The bicycle motion on a prop drive is really uncomfortable when run and gun fishing..your knees are coming all the way up while trying to keep the rod in a good position....
No prob. Good luck in your search. I’m biased with Old Town but I would highly recommend a pedal kayak.. stay tuned for more fishing kayak content. Cheers!

Cheers!
Btw-34” inseam..
@@MannsWoodlandPerspective hands free is a must for me for fishing. I would imagine it would be the same for u if u want to take photos on the move..

Is that propeller floating nut cap from Navarre or where did you get it from?
Hey Pedro. Yes, from Navarre Kayak Fishing. navarrekayakfishing.com/shop/floating-propeller-nut/
I have 2” risers on front and rear of my seat. I have a simple setup for my 120 ,NewPort 46 lbs thrust with GPS control
Nice!! Love newport motors
What method are you using to mount tracks in the rear with no access there.
Just screwing into the kayak. No issues.
@@WannaFishAllDay so no back plate? I have an anchor wizard and am worried about the stress on it without a back plate
Can it be changed to the motor ?
If you’re asking if you can convert it to an autopilot or MK, the answer is no. I added a bixpy motor to the stern and have plans to add a bow mounted xi3 this winter.
How do you did the template with the kydex....?
I just kind of eye balled it to make sure it was long enough to cover the entire front corner of the keel.. It’s probably 6-8” long by 4” wide..
@@WannaFishAllDay but do u heat over the kayak to make fit ?
At first I would only heat the strip of kydex away from the yak and then place the heated strip on the kayak to shape. You’ll have to do this a few times to get it about 95% right. The last 5% I would heat it on the kayak but at low heat to ensure I don’t warp the kayak. Just be patient with it.
And try to direct the heat on the kydex piece and not directly on the kayak as much as possible. The kydex will reach a point where it will soften and that’s when you know it’s heated enough to shape.
@@WannaFishAllDayI was thinking about cutting a cardboard and used as template
Where did you find that orange nut for your prop? I want that bad!!!

He’s got awesome stuff!
Found them! I appreciate the help! Pumped to have it now! THANK YOU !
Awesome! They are a lifesaver having to change your prop on the water. I like the fact you don’t need any tools! Would kindly ask you to subscribe as I have more mod vids in store. Cheers!
Absolutely.

@@WannaFishAllDay Thanks!
How is it for your height? I am 6'7" and wondering how I would fit. I am thin so not worried about my weight.
I think this shows you it’s all personal preference. If possible, it’s good to try one out before purchasing.
Can I buy your kayak for a 1000
Haha, no…
@@WannaFishAllDay what about 1200
Not for sale but you should look at fb marketplace…
Ok cool thank you so much
No prob. Good luck in your search. I’m biased with Old Town but I would highly recommend a pedal kayak.. stay tuned for more fishing kayak content. Cheers!
Where did you get the seat risers. I too have Old Town kayak
Nice! Those are from Navarre Kayak Fishing.
