How do you have the net secured
Wouldn’t you want it off the front so you can position your nose to the current so you can have your bait or lures come back to you with a slow drift? I dunno where you are but in Florida - fish usually face the current and eat
Pedal all the way
I just bought this same kayak and can’t wait to get it in the water for the first time. I just want to know is this kayak ok to stand up in it when you need to or does feel like it wants to tip over?
I just got this same kayak and one thing I noticed is when bought it and we was loading it on my truck, the salesman told me to load it back end first and I thought that was backwards so after watching your video you did it nose in first witch I think is the right way! Thanks for clearing that up for me on your video! I have a 6’8” bed so I should have plenty of bed for this kayak.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. From the Kayaking Pilgrim of Plymouth
I have the MK106. I highly recommend the rudder upgrade to the aluminum one. It tracks way better in the water, imo, and is just more sturdy.
8 rods on a yak?! What a beast.
But how can I upload the video on tiktok
What's the best way to get your kayak back on the cart when you arrive back at the dock from fishing?
Why is drilling a problem? i felt like that was the easiest part lol..
Hi. I came here looking for shaft and ball assembly maintenance. Perhaps if you do that you might consider making it a vid.--Thanx
I've used my KK 3-4 times a year for about 6-7 years now and couldn't be happier with it. First: if you tow it with the pointy end pointing backwards rather than forwards it mostly eliminates the wandering but when you stop moving the kayak the KK will drift forward and bump it very lightly. Second: just run a light rope through about a 3 foot piece of plastic water pipe and that completely eliminates any possibility of wandering and drifting forward. Thirdly: I don't know who recommended carrying it like a backpack but I can't see how that would work. What I do is just tie a rope to the pointy end with the other end around my waist and drag it. It's made of a very robust plastic and while it gets scraped it doesn't leak. Fourthly: mine has never leaked through the hatch even though I lost the rubber gasket a couple of years ago. Great product but just don't ask it to be something it isn't.
How do you access all the stuff in the back, can you please do a video on that
Soooo Many poooooles
Same thing for me. Even talk / chatted to go pro and they said nothing about it!!! just said OH.
does this void the lifetime warranty of the kayak from old town?
Yes, same problem, very annoying. It is not because of the streched cables but it being pulled by weeds. Great tip.
Cool thanks
You don’t need lights in Florida papi
You big pimpin
If you are affiliated then this video isn't fully trustworthy. Sorry
Great video. I have the AP 136. You seem like you really know this yak and was wondering if you might be able to help me with an issue I'm having? I'm sure yours is a newer model , mine is a 2021. I don't have that magnet that you show in the video on the motor. Mines in a different spot. So my issue is even if my rudder is straight, and I'm moving forward, I have to turn the motor about 4 inches to the right to go straight. It's like it's dog tracking similar to a car. I'm not using any Autopilot functions, just seting the motor straight and going forward. The motor is clocked in the right position so when it's facing forward the motor I can lift the motor and the prop comes out of the hole perfectly. With everything straight including the rudder if I don't offset the motor it will turn instead of going straight. It blows my mind. Just hoping somebody could tell me something I'm not checking right. It's almost like the bottom of the kayak isn't straight, like the keel is warped or something stupid like that. The only thing mounted to the bottom is my transducer, but it mounted up in the spot it's supposed to be. I have a video of it but I can't attach it to a comment. I'd have to email it or send it thru a text or something. Thanks in advance if you might have a thought of what it's doing.
Please hold your phone horizontally 😊
Hey there. Where did you find that mesh bag for the front hatch? Would also love to know where you got that drain kit. Thank you, Josh
Mesh bag is just a regular laundry bag on amazon. The drains are from Gemlux (small white nylon drains), tubing is silicone 3/8” tubing from Amazon as well. I used a little gorilla glue to seal the drains in the cupholder. Might do a short video to demo in the near future.
Thank you very much for the quick response.
I’ve recently purchased a Johnson Outdoors Old Town SPORTSMAN AUTOPILOT 120. I do like the wireless handheld remote. However, ideally I’d like to stand and cast continuously while navigating amongst the current and structure. So I was wondering if this electric motor is compatible with a foot pedal control? Being new to electric motors, any info or pointers would be great 🙏 Cheers Ryan Australia
Congrats and great choice. I bought a micro remote to wear around my neck so I can navigate while standing. Much lighter…. I leave the original remote fixed to the kayak so I can use in the seated position. The foot pedals are not connected to the motor.
@@WannaFishAllDay that’s good to know, I’ll have a look into the micro remote. Nice work with the video and I appreciate the feedback
Hey, nice video thank you for posting. I have the motor and I use it on my PA 14. It's an insert where the mirage Drive would go. The product is just OK. for the cost of this thing it's really not justified, quite frankly a trolling motor would be a fraction of the cost and probably more powerful. My maximum speed that I get with the motor is about 4 1/2 miles per hour. the battery is new so it does last for a day out on the water. overall the major problem with the company is it's customer service, which is just terrible. I probably wouldn't buy from the company again. just thought you should know before buying this very expensive underpowered motor.
Thanks and I agree with you. Not a fan of the company anymore either. Horrible customer service.
those pads are a complete joke and old town doesnt even have replacements in stock
Thanks for the directions. Got my anchor trolley installed today. Would've been a miserable job without the rigging bullets.
Glad it was helpful!
Serious question. I noticed that you now attach your units on the sasquatch bar. Previously I think you had the unit mounted right next to you (which is what I'm doing as well?. Why the change? Isn't it more difficult for you to mark spots and use the units if they're that far out? Keep up the good work, I've made a lot of changes to my 136 because of your vids!
Thanks man! I switched to the front mount bc it’s easier for me to see when they’re side by side. Just a personal preference thing. They are still easy to reach from the seated position. I do give up some deck space this way but I still prefer the current graph location.
Are you saying that you need the extender option to clear the top of the roof? How high does it go without it?
I guess it depends on the vehicle height. The max height of the long arm extender is 46.75” in the vertical position from the tow receiver (not the ground).
@@WannaFishAllDay Thanks. I read the specs and it said something like 6 feet and it didn't say that was with the extesion. That's why I asked.
Dang, I’m considering getting this… I’m gonna try my loading with a cart version 2.0 maybe Saturday and see if it works haha.
No testing that you can still still open the waterproof hatch?
Opens just fine.
damn i love my bixpy K1 its really strong💪 light weight!
Can you provide a link to the battery connection pigtail you use?
Fishing Specialties pole mount, can you provide setup info?
It’s the Fischer mount from Dugout Bait and Tackle. I believe it’s the same mount from Fishing Specialities.
OMG I DIDNT EVEN THINK OF THE DRAIN PLUG.. THANK U
Glad it was helpful!
THANKS! I used a GP8 for two yrs using external battery 5 hrs without issue. Just got a 10 and I get that error message. Couldn't figure out why I would return from a 3 hr mc ride and the battery was less than half. Just checking my 1 hr of footage today via Quik, the camera was a hot 106 degrees, and it was only on 15 minutes in my 70 degree house. Never had this much over heating issues with the GP8.
Well, it's actually 3 lights but good information non the less thank you :D
How long does the motor last while out fishing?
About 16-20 hours with my 100 Ah battery.
Where you get that blue material you have where your seat rests and the battery box area?
Hjdeck Boat Flooring on amazon. Great stuff.
Thank you so much. I’m a new on her and my first two launches were painful. I have 7 1/2 to 9 1/2 foot died here thank you for showing the ramp and the excellent instruction and put it in the water. Why didn’t I think of that I’m so worried about that transducer thank you again. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.

Awesome setup gives me a lot of ideas. Thank you
Glad to hear it!
It looks like a really good set up My question is how much does it weigh? And how much do you have invested in it? If you don’t mind, I’m just curious
The AutoPilot 120 weighs 152 lbs.
Great follow up to your other - how to load. Thanks!
Thanks!!! 🙏🏻
Solid work!
I was jigging in the front of my boat and my Minn Kota was turned all the way the opposite direction. I also had the micro remote with that little rabbit button. I leaned over my boat slightly and the remote pressed in between me and the gunnel. It hit the rabbit button and launched me over the side of my boat. I barely held on and was able to pull myself back in. Be careful with that little remote and the rabbit feature. I imagine it would be way worse in a Yak. Great review. Liked and subbed.
Thanks buddy. Glad you’re okay!
How much for that and do they have a recharger ? Or only one 1 time ?
$189 for the kit. Comes with a charger. You can charge both at the same time.
Good review, I’m in the market for a fishing kayak, I was already leaning between this one because of the Minn Kota trolling motor, I already have a full size one on the Smoker Craft boat.
Thanks! The Minn Kota motor is a beast. I’ve banged it up pretty good in the river and it’s still going strong!
