Hi, this might be a belated response but in case anyone else is wondering the same thing, here's what I gather by watching Part 1 and the first half of Part 2... Hopefully this will give you a rough idea of what he is saying/doing.
To determine the position of the two stud holes, he calculates or measures the following:
      (1). The scale length
(2). The position of the pickguard
(3). Distance between the bridge position and the centre of the stud hole
      (4) Centre line
(5). The distance between the two studs.
      (1). The scale length
For this guitar it is 648mm.
(2). The position of the pickguard
You see him placing the pickguard and marking the position. He says this is for an aethetic purpose, so that you can install the bridge parallel to the pickguard.
(3). Distance between the bridge position and the centre of the stud hole
You can work out the bridge position from the scale length. Then we need to find out the distance between the bridge position and the stud hole.
The position of the high E saddle (the saddle is brought way forward) is used as the bridge position.
He measures and calculates the following values:
From the front edge of the high E saddle to where the string actually sits on the saddle = 0.5mm
From the front edge of the knife edge to the front edge of the high E saddle = 3mm
The radius (1/2 of the diameter) of the stud that the knife edge leans against = 2.2 mm
So the distance between the bridge position and the centre of the stud hole is 0.5mm + 3mm + 2.2 mm= 5.7mm.
He measures (roughly) 5.7mm from the marking of the bridge position and draws a line parallel to the pickguard line from (2).
      (4). Centre line
Assuming that the guitar is accurately crafted, he is using the centre of the previous 6 screw holes as the centre line position.
(5). The distance between two studs.
You need to refer to the measurement from the manufacturer of your tremolo. For this Wikinson bridge it is 56.8mm so he measures 28.4mm each from the centre line and marks on the line drawn for the stud.
Then he measures the width (I think he is using a 9.5mm bit for a 10mm bush diameter) and depth of the hole (slightly deeper than the lengh of the bush) and drills them.
This is what I think he's saying anyway... :)

@@itsukamusic After watching the video several times I understood the same thing as you did. Thanks for the detailed description. In addition, for a 25.5 inches scale length strat with tremolo system, the distance between the edge of the nut and the center of mounting screw or pivot should be 25.25 inches.

Instead of gluing etc the old screwholes from the old tremolo i would just have inserted the screws and let them be... :) but then again, im a lazy bastard :D Thanks for great video! I didn't understand much apart from that many sentences ends with "mass" haha
