Excited for this one! Started my kiddo on carnivore a couple of weeks ago. He has ASD, but has been exploding in language and communication since going all in! Every parent of a neurodivergent child needs to give it a try!

@MeatingWellness hey Cristie! You, to a tee, described my son and his issues. Aged 10 now, looking to switch him to keto/Carnivore. (I'm 7 months carnivore and MS and menopause symptoms have disappeared! 😊).
One question: is your son still o meds for husband ADHD?

I’m 37 and I have many similar issues to her son: focus issues, stimilus overwhelm, misophonia, extreme sound sensitivity to the point where I sleep with noise cancelling headphones and almost wear them 24/7. I sometimes get snappy and angry simply because I’m expected to sit in a noisy, smelly cafeteria and converse normally with colleagues, while I’m battling overwhelm. It’s lead to broken relationships, lost jobs and isolation. Not to mention low self image and exhaustion with trying so hard. I think it’s time I gave carnivore another try.

That’s hard to be a parent where you have done it one way for a child and then the other child is soooooooo different. People think OMG I would have done XY&Z…. But when you are living it day in and day out, it’s hard AF. We as parents expect one thing but the kids are different than us. They are not us at all. They are their own people. I am empathetic with her bc I had 3 different kids that I raised and they were soooo opposite from one another. That’s a challenge and luckily they are adults now. Bravo mom!
No one is a perfect parent bc no person is perfect. We can only do the best we can do and just make sure we raise respectable/functioning adults who we want to hang out with. Bravo mom! We can only do the best we can do. And that’s to all the parents out there. Don’t compare yourself to the rest, do what you can do to the best of your ability.

Thank you Anthony for this episode and love the sharing of Christie’s experience. I’m wondering if there are more carnivores kids out there and any more sharing on the topic. I started to give my 5y 10 m son only ground beef for his breakfast for the last couple of months, and now he wants his beef for dinner as well. Unfortunately I still can’t get him to give up sweet treats like his chocolate wrapped hazelnuts and a piece of fruit here and there.
He has had high TSH and slow growth curve ( bone age a year younger than his age) I didn’t want to give him thyroid medication right away and try to see if his diet and supplementing iodine would make any improvements. Even though we just started the journey, I have never given him a lot of sugar or starch like the other parents do. I understand the harm of too much carbohydrates does to our body and myself benefitted from the keto-carnivore diet. My son is super intelligent. He is advanced at least for 2-3 years intellectually, I believe his low carb- healthy fat diet has contributed to his brain development. However, when I see other kids are all taller and more athletic than him, I always wonder if small kids does need more carbs. And if it’s the sugar high that makes them move so much and the move stimulates the growth. I hope Anthony can talk about low-carb / animal based diet or young child and wish there are any carnivore familles with young kids share their experiences.

I also realised he had the related side line issues …ie Psoriasis Asthma Bedwetting…… took him to a famous NZ Homeopathic Dr who gave us tools which were mostly diet related, and it was like flipping a switch!……long story short, I stopped all vaccinations…when it got difficult coz pressure was coming to “vaccinate or no school”! I threw out his records and we moved to another country……yes I lied, and yes we got away with it….don’t know if that would work today….hes 35+ now and it’s his responsibility now to suffer the consequences if he drinks alcohol sodas or junk food …. Really good interview, it must have been very frustrating for cristie knowing all the teaching techniques and applying them but just couldn't get through and all the other different types of therapy she arranged for him but all credit to her for keeping trying and eventually found something that made a change, there seems to be so many kids with adhd obviously there is more ultra processed food around now than ever and I think that is something to do with it ,how many kids would improve if they changed there diet?the thing is most parents are not aware that nutrition can be a factor in this and so unless it gets to become advice from the medical profession there kids will probably grow up taking medication

Dr Danial Amen is an ADD psychiatrist in America, who actually looks at the brain (via SPEC scan) to diagnose what types of ADD are present (which parts of the brain are over or under active).
He states how dangerous it is to medicate or treat by guessing and how it also goes against the healthcare "Do No Harm".
He treats predominantly with nutrition (usually high protein /fat, pending on which type(s), also some supplements and then holistic health with medication as a last option and minimal.
I just bought his book Healing ADD, as im in AUS and no surprise, there arent any psychiatrists here that look at the brain before treating 🙄.
Dr Amen has a free online test, though, to help those in other countries outside of US (though maybe two or three other countries now use his SPEC scans also).
Anyway... point is a great ADD psychiatrist up there with nutrition ❤

hello Dr. Anthony Chaffee, thank you much for your videos about meat. I have some thoughts and experiences I really want to share with you and I also really want to know your thoughts about it. First of all, i am doing carnivore diet right now, but last week suddenly i feel maybe I can eat some little fermented food to increase so called my gut diversity? so I ate little sauerkraut and I especially began to dig something about Natto which is said a so healthy food, and those 3 days I did ate some natto , maybe about 50 g daily, but within 3 days, I do began to feel so constipation and something so uncomfortable in my gut as well. Then I did some dug, i found sometimes it would happen when people had natto, they got cancers or severe allergic to something else, they are recorded too. one thing I feel so strange, i also found in most fermented vege, there is very high histamine. also I found right now it seems tons of articles in NIH database say fermented food is so goood for us, I feel very doubt this based on my own experience, because as long as I began to eat fermented vege, even. a little, I began to have constipation . I really want to know something behind the advocate about fermented vege benefit , is it possible another con which want to cheat us to eat more vegetables and fruits??? I really feel this way right now.

I started with no beef at all. Chicken nuggets, I made myself (the recipe is on my channel th-cam.com/video/ZxFwChLbako/w-d-xo.htmlsi=c_3_uJFcUT0CgQwE) and those carnivore pizza pockets were staples. Then I made the pork shoulder in the crockpot and shredded it up with forks at the end. It is very soft, so less texture issues. Later I introduced the chuckroast and picanha. For breakfast instead of eggs, try the carnivore pancakes. You can make then with just eggs and cream cheese if the premiere protein is a bit spendy.

I do believe a high fat (carnivore) diet will help my child - it makes so much sense! BUT: My kiddo does not like any meat. I have tried the best steaks, burgers, all the different recipes - all are being rejected! It is exhausting and I feel very guilty all the time bc I was a longterm vegan when pregnant and then when I was nursing. I did not know all of this in her first years of life - so she was getting mashed vegetables and a lot of bread, pasta etc. Now each meal is a fight. Rarely she can get herself to at least try- but she always chokes at the taste of the meat and I know she is not pretending:( it makes me wanna cry every time bc I know her body needs it so badly! What can I do? Parents please help! I can’t let her go to bed hungry. She refuses all the protein under just wants the carbs and I feel powerless having to watch this knowing well how damaging this is

Sugar, including bread, pasta, pizza, etc. are addictive. Good food doesn’t taste as good when it’s in competition with the rest of what’s in the SAD foods. Don’t feel bad if she skips a meal or two. Fasting is okay and maybe can help her appreciate meat when she will get hungry. Not easy when you’ve tasted the bad stuff. Don’t give up. It’s worth everything. Carnivore is the best and a game changer. No snacks. She can eat twice a day that’s enough. Breakfast is a scam. Good luck. You will get there.
