This is a great idea, making donuts from biscuit dough from the store !, donuts from the donut shops are so expensive now !, $ almost $2.00 for a plain cake donut, that used to sell for 35 cents !
Using the syrup makes perfect sense to me because growing up, you knew what was for dessert if you had canned biscuits for dinner - biscuits covered in syrup! Yum. Brings back many good memories of family dinners.
I recently went on vacation and took my dash appliances to cook for my friend and I. It was so fun to show her how to cook with my dash makers. She has the dash trio of waffle/ grill/griddle that she takes with her cuz she travels a lot for work. She got inspired to get the mini pie maker cuz she loved how everything turned out. I made mini donuts with Trader Joe’s brownie mix. So yummy. Topped with a bit of Nutella. I like your idea of the mini donuts from biscuits but I’d probably eat them more like a bagel with cream cheese and some salmon or something
You're not missing out on anything. To be honest, I only made these for the video to see if it could be done. This is not something that I would eat on a regular basis, if at all. The ingredients in canned biscuit dough are horrendous.
You can make powdered sugar out of granulated by putting the granulated in the blender or food processor and turning it on high speed for a couple of minutes.
My sorority used a Fry Daddy and made donuts as fund raisers. We would buy frozen biscuits on sale and sell plain cake, sugared, cinnamon sugar ones and, using chocolate frosting on sale too. Never failed to make us money, especially if we set up our sales table in the lobby of the boys dorm. Try it! (Do they still sell the Fry Daddy line?)
Bagel?? Great idea! Please find an inexpensive way to use it to make bagels. Their aroma when cooking is so enticing and the end product does please! Such a good video!
If you ever need powdered sugar, put sugar and cornstarch in a blender blended it up then you got your own powder, sugar. For a nice glazed for your donut, Mix powdered sugar milk and vanilla extract.
Wow, this came just at the right time. I've been buying bags of pizza dough mix to make bread in my Dash rice cooker. I've been wondering about how the dough would turn out in my Dash Bundt cake maker, if it would cook clear through. Since your large doughnut maker worked, I am willing to give it a try with my cake maker.
Try putting the sugar/cinnamon on the raw biscuit doe before putting it in the donut maker. Eliminates the need to dip in syrup. Who knows, it might work.
Sadly, the personal donut the one Dash maker isn't available in Canada (but the mini donut maker is) because I'd love to get it. So many thins to "donut" 😅
@CounterCooking I've seen it mentioned in a lot of videos, but 'll be honest, I've not tried it myself. If you do a search, I would bet you'd find multiple videos telling you it works

Yes, biscuits and syrup are so good together.
Put them in melted butter as soon as they come out of the Dash and then shake them in a bag of cinnamon sugar. They really taste like doughnuts.
Good idea.
I enjoy your presentations. I'm now a fan and owner of mini appliances! Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
This is great. Brings back memories. My mom used to make donuts out of those buttermilk biscuits she did use powered sugar on them. 😊
Yes, they would be good with powdered sugar.
I want to try this with cinnamon roll dough.
Check out my new video. :)

yes, they could be eaten either savory or sweet.
Love dashcookers.💖💖💖
Diabetic me watching and thinking poor me !!😢😢 They look amazing.

Put sweetener mixed with cinnamon instead of sugar, will help reduce calories a bit.

Try using the cinnamon rolls
Good to know! 👍🏼 Thank you!
Cook them about a minute less in the donut maker and IMMEDIATELY put them into a bag of cinnamon and sugar and shake.

Sounds like a great fund raiser.
I wonder how one of those biscuits would work in a mini waffle maker? It wouldn't have the hole, but just for the taste.
Do you mean the mini mini waffles? Or the Dash mini waffle maker that makes one Eggo sized waffle?
Bagel?? Great idea! Please find an inexpensive way to use it to make bagels. Their aroma when cooking is so enticing and the end product does please! Such a good video!
I've been making homemade sourdough bagels with it. They come out great. Stay tuned for future videos.
People seem to have forgotten that Steak N Shake had fried biscuits on their menu. They still might but i haven't are there in years.
Many people have never been to a Steak N Shake, especially those of us living in the New York City area and suburbs.
They look more like mini donuts to me but still pretty cool!
They are mini donuts.
I've got a Dash pancake maker. Didn't know they had donut makers too.
Great idea!!!
Thanks! I thought it was a fun experiment.
Amazing 😀

I will have to try that.

It should work. I've been making bagels in my full size donut maker and they have been coming out great.
Try putting the sugar/cinnamon on the raw biscuit doe before putting it in the donut maker. Eliminates the need to dip in syrup. Who knows, it might work.
I can’t wait to try this…thank you so much.
Thanks for watching.
I am going to have to try this!
They’re super easy to make!

brush the donuts with butter while hot then put in cinnamon sugar
Good idea.
A biscuit is still a biscuit, no matter how it's cooked.
That was kind of my thought, you just have a donut-shaped biscuit.
Biscuit dough can be used for many different purposes and can be completely transformed depending on how it is prepared and utilized.
@beetleblooming Maybe looks different, but still tastes like a biscuit.
you cooked bread (rolls) and are surprised they taste like bread?
When did I say I was surprised that the biscuits tasted like bread? I didn't.
Maybe dunk them in what ever liquid is used for making bagles.
Bagels are usually boiled for 20 or 30 seconds before being baked.
What about dipping in honey? 3:36
yes, that would work also
They don't look like donuts they look like bagels little mini bagels.
yes, they do look like little bagels, but once they are glazed or frosted or coated in sugar, then they do taste like donuts.
Ok
😀✌
👍🏻😊
