- Together, let us embark on this extraordinary journey and experience the world of "The Landvaettir."
Do you think there should be a sequel ?
"The Landvaettir" is a heritage of Norse mythology and push towards a harmonious relationship between humanity and the natural world. We aspire to create a visually stunning, emotionally resonant short film that transports audiences into a realm where heroes are born, and the forces of nature and the human spirit collide.

beautiful colorgrade image and pace! Red Komodo??
Hey, thank you very much, ✌️ this time round it was the arri mini / cooke anamorphic
The costumes, why always the wrong costumes... Historically speaking itwould have been better to dress them up it Sami costumes, which would have been more approximate to nordic fashions of the time period. Except for that it looks like a great story worth making into a full feature film.
P. S. It's not like we don't have access to the internet and the viking living museum. Plus there's like a hundred historians and reenactment groups that would gladly lend their knowledge and skills for just a little participation (appearing in the movie).
Film producers and directors should be aware of that, and it could save them on film production costs!
Color tone, and visuals for the most part, we no this is not historical, but in terms of aesthetic it feels much more earthy, and tonal to overall image, I guess that is why all movies dont have the best accrucy with history,
No the colors and tones are fine, it's the fine details on the costumes. Pure fantasy viking à là Hollywood style, specially the leather armor on viking #2 . It makes it look too imperial Roman, instead a byzantine varangian guard armor would have been more suited.
Overall the photography was good, specially the wide angle scenic shots, very beautiful it really captures the beauty of nature in a sort of natural state. A lot of directors don't do that today, they just use it as background...
Small criticism if I may, you need to work on that second death scene. Where's the knife? It's not clear how the girl got killed, or how the protagonist killed him.
So so sick!!!!
you on the grips kind sir
Not bad at all! Many great qualities!
If i can make one suggestion, i would say simple this: NEVER ever do what you think is expected (like previous movies/serials or 'hollyweird'). I.e. be ORIGINAL - do it YOUR WAY, thus unique.

Aww thanks man this is massive, I tried my best to keep it original, so Im glad you see that in the film !!!
@@liamvandenberk. Keeping it original is fine, but also it is important to keep some historical accuracy. Specially with today's more knowledgeable growing public. Besides all the possible story plots already exist, there's only so many twist and turns that can be put in a story before it becomes too confusing or unwatchable.
My question is, why you didn't used the resources that are free on the internet? More intriguing is why you didn't used reenactment groups for the info and costumes/ equipment, even the viking museum would have provided for a small mention in the credits? What, are they starting to charge too much money for it now? Or is it the screen actors and writers guild that is making it difficult?
Hey man, 80% of the crew was reenactment, we worked as a team, ate food all as one, and camped on the land, so we where rather traditional, yes we had a lot of there equipment and am very grateful, all there names are in the credits! @@tatumergo3931
@@liamvandenberk . Well that just makes me glad. Let me just say that your film is much much better than many other independent films out there about the same genre. I just watch that other one that's circulating now, and I must say it doesn't even makes the mark. Yours could be easily be turned into a major feature production. It reminded me a bit of the small budget Icelandic production When the Raven Flies, but yours seems to have more meat in it (better photography, more subject matter) and not too over the top dramatic.
What did this has to do with the landvættir?
Land spirits (Old Norse landvættir) are, as the name implies, the spirits who dwell within particular places or features of the land. They wield considerable influence over the well-being of the land and all who depend on it., they live in our forrest
@@liamvandenberk yeah I know what vættir are, my question was what your movie had to do with them?
Just want to make it clear that I am not dissing your movie, because it was a piece of short art.
The orbs in the woods, where part of the her journey, show her a new reality, and that realty was the death of her sister@@ChaosToRule
Aww thanks man I appreciate it !@@ChaosToRule
