What I want from a guide: overview of all the moves, great examples of those moves being used, commentary on what situations you can combo and kill confirm, and cool niche tips like how to get arsene out fast. All of that was in the guide. Great job Izaw, quality content, keep it up.

Just wanted to say... 1) Arcene + utility can kill at around 150% 2) Ftilt can kill at the ledge around 130-150% and kills earlier with Arcene. That’s it and thx for the vid Izaw! Such a good teacher and mentor.
I like using Ftilt near ledge on certain opponents. Even if it doesn't kill. It has a really low launch angle, so a lot of characters need to recover low, making them easy gun gimp bait.

For the first kick of Joker’s forward air (when only hitting the single hit that combos) can go into a simple and early kill confirm when with Arsene (Sorry if I butchered the name) after a first kick near the ledge combo into dair at 50~70. It seems to work no matter what DI is inputted and works pretty consistently. To set up for the first kick doing short hop falling f-air is good or Running off a platform and quickly fast fall with f-air to get an easy first kick. (I know he went over the first kick of f-air and combos but he didn’t mention this so just thought I’d put it out there. Keep up the amazing work!)
Joker is a really cool character that I wanna get better with, so thank you for posting this video super early even when he isn't optimized yet. Hopefully you can follow up this video with an "Art of Joker" video in a couple months when he is optimized.
I've been catching a few people at high percents by jumping or dashing back, then jumping the other way with falling guns into a smash attack. Those falling guns are also really help with landing since you can act out of them early and they consistently flinch people unlike the grounded version. If you space it right you can also spike people off neutral getups and ledge attacks, they get hit off stage right before Arsene's spike hits. There's a bit of a delay between the 2 hits. Forward Tilt and Jab can both kill earlier than his throws with Arsene. Instant Dash attack is almost always better drags opponents closer to the side. Rage Ftilt is a bit more viable thanks to the purely horizontal knockback. It's also a decent option for poking people out of high recoveries. It can deadly if you don't have a jump left.
I was scrolling through recommended and saw two Joker guides. I was wondering what was the difference and saw one was Zero's and one was Izaw's and I clicked this immediately.
I got joker before the servers crashed from everyone trying to download him at once and I didn't know half this. The mini air dodge thing is pretty cool, wish I knew that while I fought my friends today at school.
@@Fenyll_Fur Nope, it specifically works as a jab lock when you DON'T dash in. I'll detail why below but the Gun jab lock is still great as you do have a bit more range and can do 6 percent ish with a single hit (much better than a jab) and after two hits, you can get down Smash or down tilt. The Gun Dodge/Dash is too slow for the second shot to work and that second shot will only be in range to have a hitbox if your back is to a ledge as you can cross up through opponents with the dodge if you go forward besides how it does too little hitstun from far away and you can't turn around during the shots.
Many of us can safely say that this is the best joker guide available. Looked at the mobility that joker had and looked to fun to use and get the hang of, maybe I will give melee another shot once I feel like all progression has stoped for me in ultimate, but as of now I still am only decent at the game

Great guide! Always nice to see you make content. Although, I'm still not sure if Rebel's Guard actually does reduce damage by half, and not a slightly higher percentage. I tested it against Luigi's up b which does 30%, but it did 12% (reduced by 60%) instead of 15%, which would be half. Even that feels a bit inconsistent to me, since Cloud's fully charged fsmash felt like it got lowered about 62%. I might also just have really bad math for this, lol.

one thing people never talk about is that when joker gets launched with arsen the timer goes down as well, not just by damage, and when joker dies with arsen the meter goes back to a set amount "roughly 10% of the meter".
I've been calling the Down Air Gun/Jump Gun move "Rainstorm" just because DMC and hope it catches on. I didn't know about "Gun Wheel" but it is a fine name whether or not is a reference.
I look only at izaw's guides because izaw actually talks about the moveset,and the objective in the neutral, instead of all of these other guides that only talk about small stuff about a character
No one truly knows how to play this fighter just yet. He's been out for a couple days. But this is definitely by far the best how to play Joker video I've seen since his release
You should mention that in order to get the optimal “waveland” with the gun, yo need to short hop, wait a little bit and then shoot, if you shoot inmidiatley as your short hop ends you won’t get the optimal “waveland”. You need to hold right or left after you shoot. if you want to “waveland” into a plataform you need to full hop and shoot inmidiatley, if you are holding the ledge you need to full hop too. Excelent guide as allways Izaw!!!!!!
Joker as a smash character seems like the child of Sheik and Cloud. He's got the speed and combos from Sheik, but fixes the power problem with the limit mechanic in the form of Arsene.
Hey Izaw, great Guide just as I'd expect :) One Thing i Noticed with Joker is that his Down Smash back hit has more damage and knockback overall, it aint too much. In Training, at the very edge of the Stage and without DI thrown into the mix, you kill Cloud with the Downsmash Back hit starting at about 99.5%. The Forwards Hit starts killing at about 106%. Its not as significant of a difference in percent but it is a difference. You also missed his very best move: Up Taunt, Looking Cool Joker
His guides are top quality no matter what. This is why I priorities Izaw’s guides over any other person who just tries to be the first one to make a guide on the character.
Really amazing guide, but I wish you diverted more attention to things like playing neutral, adv. and disadv. State, options out of shield, etc. I know I know it’s still very early for these kinds of things but it felt like there was too much focus on combo game I feel. I still really love this guide, it helped out a lot.
Joker has so many options I love it . I dont know how they managed to not get a Bayonetta case with this one, but I'm glad they can get creatif with their moved while keeping it balanced

Actually, the meter goes down .3 seconds for every 1 percent you take, not 1 to 1. Taking ~3 percent will take 1 second away.

I like how this video was useful for pretty much any player from beginners to the highest level of competitive play.
In my testing, Arsene Up-B is invincible starting frame 3 when used in the air. On the ground it is invincible frame 1 though.

It’s very important to note that aerial Grappling Hook never grabs opponents; it’s just a really weak hit.

Interesting. That means you can jab lock with gun from a short distance, dash in, use gun again, then follow up.
It can also kinda be used for really fancy combos

I don't know about all that combo jazz.... but the thing I learned most was the slide after short-hopping and shooting.

Hey Izaw, great Guide just as I'd expect :) One Thing i Noticed with Joker is that his Down Smash back hit has more damage and knockback overall, it aint too much. In Training, at the very edge of the Stage and without DI thrown into the mix, you kill Cloud with the Downsmash Back hit starting at about 99.5%. The Forwards Hit starts killing at about 106%. Its not as significant of a difference in percent but it is a difference. You also missed his very best move: Up Taunt, Looking Cool Joker

His guides are top quality no matter what. This is why I priorities Izaw’s guides over any other person who just tries to be the first one to make a guide on the character.
Really amazing guide, but I wish you diverted more attention to things like playing neutral, adv. and disadv. State, options out of shield, etc.
I know I know it’s still very early for these kinds of things but it felt like there was too much focus on combo game I feel. I still really love this guide, it helped out a lot.

Definitely a guide worth watching and learning from, as all of Izaw's guides are.
Joker has so many options I love it . I dont know how they managed to not get a Bayonetta case with this one, but I'm glad they can get creatif with their moved while keeping it balanced
