I also recommend trying pro-room in coop,also i really do recommend playing new songs because the old songs will save your progress and won't give you gems if you already played it unless you get a new score Try also doing area conversations, about 15 should be decent since in yotal,it gives 150 gems,if you wasted all the area conversations,try reading old event Stories. Going to live shows are also good,it gives 300 gems in total. I also think you should have the challenge show of EVERY character or just the characters of your team.
Very obscure way to earn gems to especially with the new update that released on jp that gives you free pulls is to read (spam) previous events (there’s usually 8 event stories in one event so if you are an avid reader and like saving crystals, it’s good for you) even the ones that’s active since i think it still counts so you can both gamble to your heart’s content (or not) and be able to save up. moreover you can get stamps from attending those previous event lives so you can also be able to progress your character rank !!! you have to read 10 gacha stories for 1 ticket so that’s 90 gacha stories for 9 tickets but you can also earn 100 gems per 100 gacha stories that you read. (Trust me, I saved 30k crystals using this method without touching character ranks besides challenge shows and fc’ing songs)
and i think there's more f2p ways to earn gems, such as reading the whole story of an event that you never read when the event was running without skipping, which would give you 50 gems ^^ and there's the misson gacha, but every 100 story chapters that are properly read gives like 100 gems instead of 1 gacha ticket (wait that's only jpsekai for now)
Another thing you can do is rank mastery! I prefer to use the 1 or 2 star cards because they take the least amount of wish pieces and you can rank your characters and get gems 🤑🤑🤑

i think it depends on skill score/mastery ranks
BUT you can read/skip the side story if the card to get more talent points (it helps a lot)

I would level up the character decorations and the plant decorations if you have a common color between the cards you’re using :)
