Hello Debra, I saw this video and reached out to Jeff. I was able to schedule a visit and pick an Aloe Hercules from his extensive grounds. We removed and replaced our front yard with succulents, aloe trees, and a dracaena Draco. Thank you for making this video!
Aloes in Wonderland is like a botanical garden. I hope you have more episodes from AIW highlighting the many other specimens. The cycad collection is amazing.
So true. The amount of mature varieties of all sorts of dry-climate plants is astounding. I do touch on that a bit more in the corresponding page of my website, debraleebaldwin.com/succulent-destinations/grow-tree-aloes/
I actually just found 4 aloe Hercules around 2-2 1//2 feet tall for 20$ each at Home Depot. I was pretty surprised to see them there. Not a plant that’s usually ever in rotation there. So I of course grabbed all 4 of them. Along with 2 agave blue glows and 2 agave perryi truncata. A good haul for sure last week.
No kidding, a good haul. The largest supplier of cacti and succulents (Altman Plants) sells to HD and Lowe's. Even so, I wouldn't have expected such large specimens...and at those prices!
Quick question. Any details on the trimmings that had been propagated? Any root compound, type of soil? Can a large trimming survive? Suggestions watering?
i rewad your page about the cracking echeveria skin and it being spread through horse dukie.i had 2 of my faves from altman plants get that and since the concensus was to toss it i ,being a cow girl did what any good cowgirl would do if there were a horse shit problem.i drenched it with pour on cattle and horse wormer..IVERMECTIN and waited .all the cracked leaves died as it shot out multiple babies like fire works no sign of dukie disease and they look great.

Is that all? I wanted to see more of his landscape.
You're not the only one! I hope to go back when the aloes are in bloom.

I hope this video was longer..
I know. Me too. Thing is, to do the nursery justice, I really need to go in midwinter when the aloes are in bloom.
@@QueenofSucculents Looking forward to that. Anyhow, it's a great video Debra!

You are quite the star, Debra! Very lovely photo indeed. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Aw, thanks!
I love your videos. But they seem to get shorter.
Hi Juan -- Thank you. They're as long as the information warrants. Future ones may be much longer---or even shorter. It depends.
I understand. Love them all anyway.
