This argument fails to address the fact that countless fathers "in the home" don't play an active role, they tell the kid "ask your mom" and force the mom to be the bad guy and enforce parental boundaries so the dad gets to be the lovably aloof fun parent. Also, most single parents are not in that situation by choice, if someone leaves, you can't make them stay. I only agree that a second opinion can be really balancing but as i previously said, so many fathers just opt out of parenting since they'd rather just work then come home and tune everything out. Also the "reduced stress" of a two parent household is slightly a myth. AGAIN bc a second adult in the house is not always a second hand in RUNNING the household. Instead, a husband who sees domestic labor as 1000% the womans job will only ADD to the womans duties, stress, and responsibilities, usually not a very even divide for the work involving the kids, the appointments, the food management, the laundry, the cleaning, etc

The point is this can’t be propaganda from “personal experience” because a father not in the home is not my personal experience.
