Please don't ever delete this video. I need it for every ski season when I forget everything I've ever learnt over the last few years and take at least 3 days to get back into things. Lol. Thank you for the simple drills, just love the simplicity and the importance of warming up.

How refreshing, no bla bla talk, no over complicating a simple subject, just good visual easy to follow demonstrations. I ski more than 30+ years and I can hands down say that this is one of the best videos.
This is one of the simplest, and best, videos on building your turn technique step-by-step that I've ever seen. I'm an advanced skier and I keep going back to these exercises to improve. THANKYOU!
Thank you. In the last season, I was struggling in turning. I will practice for this season using this technique. This is very clear method to learn as an intermediate level . grateful for making the videos.
For all you progressive skiers out there this is a great video to watch and practice when you’re next on the slopes Iam definitely going to try this Great video Thanks
Nice sky, nice mountain, nice slope, snow guns look wonderful, nice snow surface, great skiing and just the right music to go with it all. I've watched this video many times over the years and love it.
I’ve been around racers for many years and even high level skiers go back to some of these very basic exercices on the slopes. Practice, practice, practice.
I`ve seen a lot of videos that look so easy until you try them yourself and find it impossible, but this step by step video is right on the mark..."Look Ma!, I can turn on my skiis!"
I've been watching lots of tutorials but I must say that this one helped me so very much that I am now doing black diamonds with control. 61 and loving it. Great job keep'em coming.
to be honest, you should try to change to a more agressive style while staying in control. Try to carve really agressive, but remove the hit on your legs by tilting your feet up towards your hips to absorb the shock. This allows for some insane speed while being in complete control and looking like a boss while youre at it ;)
David Kirkpatrick its like when you go over a knuckle, you try to keep your upper body the same position, while you bend your knees so you dont feel the knuckle. Basically you keep your upper body in the same position while you move over terrain thats not flat
Thanks for sharing. You demonstrate some things I like such as side slipping and creating some nice angles with your legs. It was interesting when you extended that technique and applied it to an angled downhill slip. I never start my turns with my knees. I always start everything from the bottom-up. Instead of forcing the skis to turn, I tip them, starting with the inside ski. My goal is to create strong angles and pay close attention to my separation (upper vs. lower body). While maintaining correct fore/aft balance, I try to let my lower body do most all of the work, but in a smooth and efficient manner (easier said than done sometimes- especially in the bumps). A lot of people will try to force the ski and they end up in the backseat and engage very little edge (little control). This is noticed by excessive sliding and snow kicking up at the rear of the ski. If you study racers, they drive hard into the front of their boots and create strong angles, while keeping incredible form and balance. They are also always in motion and not static in their posture and movements- they flow. Anyway, thanks for sharing. It's obvious you love the sport!
I just bought a new pair of skies, and I found out that those are for beginners (very light). I want now to exercise to improve my skying. This video helped me. Thank you
Thank you for the pleasant background music and refraining from talking (not that you have a bad voice). Its a welcome departure from the many other videos out there.
I think this may be the best ski training video's I've seen. What I will say is what makes this turn possible is a definite series of actions taken that are hard to see, I'll try to sum it up. the shier shifts weight off the uphill or inside turn ski, at the same time turns into the mountain slope shifting weight on the outside ski to the ski's edge and the front of the ski to allow the rear to slide over the steeper the slope the more pronounced the and deliberate this must be. To finish the turn put your weight back on the uphill or inside turn ski and then dig in with your heel for a moment goal being to equalize the edge drop of both skis, when finished you're moving straight ahead with equal weight on both skis, both skis tilted into the mountain the same, and a few seconds later do exactly the same in the opposite direction switching skis for the action.
As is the video is outstanding. Great relaxing music and excellent video work to make a whole that is very instructive and helpful. Many videos on You Tube are loaded with difficult to understand examples and language that does not explain what is intended to be pointed out. They are tortured and not much help. I love this video and have watched it many times as it is so relaxing and inspiring. I’m an advanced skier and still do these exercises often.
Nice tips, I finally had the courage to take lessons and start skiing. Had a great time just doing wedges on beginniner slopes. Will most definitely try this next season
Tips on the snow means your weight is really far forward ......... Maybe "hanging" in the front of your boots ........ It is a tactic ...... But if toy are there all the time you tails will was out at the end of the turn ........ See falling leaf excercises
@@kentroberts8853 I don't think weight is meant to be far forward, just forward pressure, this is done with a stiffer body not just moving your weight over the front of the ski. To be able to drive the tips, the movement comes from the heel, lift the heel press the toes, putting immediate and strong torsion pressure on the tips and releasing the tail, once the tips start to drive around weight transitions to neutral and then lightly to rear pressure to finish on the tails and repeat.
I’m an intermediate skier and I think these exercises will help me with my turns. Can’t wait to try…we just need some snow ❄️ 😭 (gonna do a snow dance!!) thank you ⛄️
