I used to do quite a bit of white water rafting and kayaking. It can be fun. But two things…used wetsuits are Disgusting… and get a rating of that river’s rapids first. We have had a Ton of rain and no matter what rafting outfits may say as first timers make sure not to ride a rapid above a 4. And double check on your phone for river conditions. I say this because years ago I was in a rafting expedition. And the outfit said conditions favorable and a 5. Luckily our guide was very experienced ( had shot Amazon rapids). Or we would have suffered the fate of the raft in front of us … which overturned and a person Died. We literally were in what he rated above a 7 because of the river we were in was swollen with flood water. I spent literally Miles shooting rapids with my head Under water the waves produced. And in a canyon so trapped. Very scary. Don’t want to scare you off of never white water rafting. On a nice summer day and a fairly lazy river it can be fun. Usually if there are hot springs in the river the guide will stop so that you can enjoy them. And small stretches of class 3-4 rapids along the way can be fun.
When I was younger I was taught to walk around the car and check out the back seat before getting in if itwas dark. I still do that and I'm over 60. Your reaction to the armadillo is priceless.

This is the thing that worries me about window covers. On the one hand, I don't want anyone looking IN, but on the other, it freaks me out not being able to see OUT. If you didn't have your dog, and all your window covers were up, how long until you'd have known about the situation?
I'm glad you got outta there and were safe. I have dogs, and a lot of times, I don't check things out at the house, but I noticed my husband does. I should be more diligent, too. Be safe!❤

Thank goodness your experience is Gallop turned out well. I stopped in Gallop once and did laundry during the day. Would not have wanted to spend the night in my van there.
Gallop has been getting sketchy the last decade. I know the Loves you are talking about. Because of that I usually get my gas a few miles outside and East of it . I can’t remember the name but it is next to a refinery on North side. I’ve been traveling from Phoenix to Taos for decades. Some places you really don’t want to stop at. Especially rest areas. Lots of casinos on that route that will let you car camp. Sometimes they have special areas for us and have actual security at night. They just ask you to go into the casino and either gamble a bit or eat at their buffet.

I didn't know that bunny was from ft. Worth, I always see vans around the city, but they seem reluctant to talk. I hope ya'll consider me.
I don’t think it’s van life thing it an everyday thing we have to live unfortunately on the defense. Just like defensive driving remember you are not the problem but someone else might be. It’s harsh but in the time that we live in now it’s necessary.
OK enough of the dorky dancing. It's time to get real and learn some Texas line dancing. Come on, Bunny, do your job. You got 2 to 3 weeks it don't take that long to learn the Texas 2 step and Electric Slide...lol.

totally would love it when it warms up... zipping through frigid ice berg quality air sounds like a shiver fest.. and if i am supposed to use my hands to stop then i might just break a finger off.... i run very cold in normal circumstances....lol
I have a license it’s just expires while I will be traveling which is why I had to renew it. It has been renewed and even with that I could drive because my other license is still valid until March. The issue was not that I didn’t have a valid drivers license, but rather that I did not want my new drivers license to be sent in the mail.

How come Bunny is driving when she has no licence currently lol.?
lol her current license doesn’t expire until March. She just needed to get it renewed before we left since she won’t be back before then.
