It IS lighter than it should be. There is a specific federal standard color with a Pantone identifier. The “official” standard is significantly darker than this light blue.

In part, this issue is because most city agencies do not do their job enforcing the laws protecting the disabled, no priority is assigned to correct or enforce the law. Large fines, towing, these actions can make money to pay for enforcement. If tickets were made payable when people get their car sticker, people would have no choice but to pay or no sticker, and another ticket and fine. It can be a real legitimate moneymaker for a city and protect the innocent ones..

Also property owners must have a metal signs posted at least 5 feet off the ground . Ground markings alone do not equal a handicapped parking spot.

OK, but I am now blind. I can barely make out the blue wheelchair sticker that is on the parking lot. How do I get mine quickly I would hate to to bump into a pedestrian.😵‍💫

Why to hold a handicap parking if you are a normal person ?

Hello, where I live parking is a little tight, the new next door neighbour is in a wheelchair, directly outside her front door is a drop curb that I sometimes park my car across, this person doesn't own a car or drive, the road is less then 300 yards long and has 5 drop curbs and 7 parking zones for disable drivers. Now the council have placed a parking disable zone right across the drop curb - so because the drop curb is not used very often and there are 5 in total, does the new parking zone cancel out the drop curb as obviously cars can park all day

There needs to be a 5 min loading time sign, on that drop off point, talk to your council.

Handicapped Parking Placards should ONLY be issued to people who are confined to wheelchairs or require some form of equipment in which to be mobile. There should be NO OTHER EXCEPTIONS! 90% of people I observe getting in & out of Handicapped parking spaces are able-bodied and middle-aged women of a specific ethnicity. Besides, if you have the ability to walk without help, a few more feet is good exercise. The other part of the problem stems from the ease in which people can get approved for a placard. The ONLY people that should have the credentials to issue permits are medical physicians. The haphazard issuance of handicapped parking placards to self-proclaimed "entitled" people, geriatrics, and the lazy, should be stopped immediately.

Why can't mentally challenged people have access to it?

Why are you such a jerk? Not all handicap conditions are visible. You sound like an entitled racist. If you were handicapped you wouldn't feel the same way and you wouldn't make such ignorant statements or rants. Have some compassion for those who need handicapped placards or plates. Get a life!

Only use it if it BELONG to the recipient. Not after they move our 18 19 yrs ago and have tenants who don't own a car using the space for there own personal use. Meaning to work on other people cars.

I see so many people using the disabled parking that are fully able to walk, even spring out the car and want to fight if you say anything.

Looking to get it didn't think initially I needed it. Issue is I have really slow reaction time and in places that are busy I get shoved out by much more aggressive driver's. I also struggle with depth perception so the extra space makes it possible so I don't have to park a mile away because I need more space to menuver into the space because you might not want me tapping your car. It can be neurological and not physical. Multiple friends joke that I consider parking on Mars nearby because it's just that normal. Just trying to get fair treatment. It's not fun but you see me it doesn't look like I need it and don't always need it. Another issue is because of the lack of understanding where I am constantly struggling to find my car.

@@nathanjw940 I don't think that you should be driving anywhere but local. A half price cab card from social service would be cheaper for longer trips. The roads have 70 percent more cars, than in 1975, when I got my licence. I've had endorsed licence, and I have seen a lot of idiots, travelling too fast for their skills and some of the wreckage from these mistakes. I'm glad that you, at least know your limitations and respect them. Pity 90 percent of people have no idea. Most crashes can be avoided, but people panic, and just keep heading for the car they messed up with, by breaking, instead of accelerating. I think everyone should do an aggressive driving course.

@@jojozepofthejungle2655 I have moved and driven cross country. I just hanging out with the truck drivers put my feet back and arrive when I get there.

Its sometimes because they have a handicap family member.
